The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 487 - 487 Great, just great
487: Great, just great.
487: Great, just great.
Over Alix’s shoulder, one man and two cats were watching the game she was playing.
All three had on gaming glasses, allowing them to experience the game as if they were actually there with her.
Caishen had a recorder in his hands and he was even taking notes of her surroundings and any subtle changes in the environment around her.
He was impressed with how real everything seemed, it was as good as being on another world without actually being there physically.
If gaming companies could master this technology, the world would change in many ways.
Majesty kept meowing every time the monsters showed up.
He was warning Alix of their presence, despite the fact that she couldn’t hear him.
His anxiety at some point was too much that his claws ripped through the blanket.
Currently, he was folding his paws because Alix and Dark Death were making their way into one of the only structures in the Broken rift that was still somewhat standing.
“Don’t go in there Alix…” he warned.
As an avid watcher of horror movies thanks to Alix, Majesty was familiar with some rules, like you didn’t go into the only cabin in the woods when you found yourself being hunted by something in a forest.
It was better to continue running around in the open.
She didn’t hear him and in the game, she just kept going.
The path they were taking right now was an unstable hallway that was shaking.
They had to walk, jump and leap, while taking turns to ensure each other’s safety.
They fired their weapons if anything moved, and a lot of things were moving in this place.
Every other second, they would come across a monster and they had harvested quite a few rank four and three cores.
Dark Death fired even when nothing was coming at them.
She was nervous and trigger happy.
Every little sound frightened her.
To her, they might as well be in the woods with a serial killer in a mask with an axe or some other weapon hunting them.
Dark Death liked being the hunter, not the hunted so she hated this world with a deep burning passion.
“Stop wasting the bullets.” Alix hissed at her.
“I don’t like this place, i feel like we are being watched so my finger is a little too nervous.” “That’s because we are.” “We are what?” Alix rolled her eyes.
“We are being watched you dummy.
I told you, we are here for rank six and above cores.
To get to the kings, we must get rid of the servants first and they are everywhere.” They came upon a closed door, which surprised them.
After the energy explosion they watched which brought this world to its knees, how had this door remained intact.
What kind of material had been used in it’s making?
“Now what?” Dark death asked.
According to the system what they sought was beyond the door so there was no turning back.
Alix got a grenade from her back pack and then leaped back.
Dark Death beat her to it, leaping away before she did.
Something made a dash for Alix before she could leap away completely.
“Behind you.” Dark Death shouted and fired.
The bullet whizzed past Alix, grazed her cheek and entered the forehead of the monster that was about to stab her in the back with it’s very long claws.
Alix didn’t even react, she used her sword which was always carried around on her back to slice off the arms of the monster and started shooting at the monsters behind Dark Death as well and the ones to her side.
A strong wave of energy was emitted by the grenade she planted on the door.
It burned the monsters that were attacking from that side and made a hole in the door.
“Let’s go.” Alix shouted to Dark Death.
She grabbed her partner by the hand and two took off running.
They dived into the hole, unsure of what they would find.
Without taking a moment to breathe, Dark Death got a few more grenades and tossed them out of the hole, blowing up everything behind them.
The unstable building became more unstable and when they peeked out of the hole, there was nothing but empty space.
Suddenly, the sky started to change, becoming dim and dimmer in a short period of time.
“Shit!” Dark Death cursed.
She moved closer to Alix out of worry.
“I thought you said we have a twenty four hour advantage.
What happened, did the sun gun malfunction?” Alix was asking her system the same question.
“You are forgetting that you are not the only one with weapons.
Someone didn’t like the brightness so they did something about it.
It won’t be too bright but it won’t be dark either, just keep going.
The rank six monsters were sealed and buried in here, only a few feet away from you.” Alix tugged on Dark Death’s arm.
“Let’s go, we don’t stop hunting until we kill all the monsters here.” Dark Death tugged back on Alix’s hand and stood still like a stone.
“I am uneasy.” “What?
Do you want to give up?
Then log out and go to bed, I can keep going on my own.” Alix impatiently tugged on her arm.
There was a spike in comments on Alix’s gaming platform, which pleased the system.
The viewers that were watching on the different worlds were curious.
Had the two partners had a falling out suddenly?
After possibly losing Hero, would she be losing Dark Death next?
Was this the end of the Badass guild or team?
“No, that’s not what i mean.” Dark Death pulled her roughly and whispered, “Do you ever wonder if we are the bad guys on this world?
We are hunting these monsters, creatures on their own world.” Alix rolled her eyes.
“It’s just a game.” she whispered too.
She didn’t know why they were whispering but she followed Dark Death’s lead.
She clenched her hands around her weapons tightly, refusing to think about what Dark Death had said.
People played games all the time in which they killed monsters, this was no different?
It was more realistic and you felt everything but it was a game.
Her system had assured her of this.
A little voice whispered in her mind, “Still, technically this world belongs to these monsters.
You that is hunting them, aren’t you the monster?” She frowned and then heard the sound of her system laughing.
“Ha-ha-ha, that was fun.
But seriously, it’s just a game.
If you are going to be emotional about it, then go home and sleep.
The world is designed basing off of a real world somewhere out there but you are not actually on that world.
Players like her are the reason why the rules of the game keep changing.” The system had just said it when all the active players received a notification.
[Whispering is banned in the game.
From now on all players that whisper to each other will be banned from all of the games permanently.] On the virtual screen, the system stomped it’s feet and jumped up and down unhappily.
“Great, just great.
See what she has done.”
