465: Husband & wife in the hidden city___2.

If he hadn’t braced himself for as many surprises as he expected, Caishen would have freaked out and gone running for the hills.

His only problem was the same one he kept experiencing with system hosts, they didn’t warn you before doing their system related things.

“Oh jeez!” he whispered.

Caishen wanted to repeat the same questions he had asked Aang.

Why did they do this?

Was it too much for one to give a heads up?

How hard was it to say watch out, i am about to turn into a bear?

He suddenly looked sick and a little pale.

Alix noticed and she opened the box of gum and held it in front of him.

She didn’t know what else to do to help him.

The professor morphing into a bear had shocked her as well but she had seen so many weird things to freak out over a talking bear.

He needed the gum a lot more than her at this point.

If these surprises continued, he might need the entire box.

“More gum hubby?” He took a handful of the gum and put a few in his pocket.

Normal him would find it unsanitary but there was nothing normal about this situation.

“May i have some gum?” Professor J asked.

“It’s medicine, not simple candy.” She explained as she put it back in the pocket of her coat.

Professor J nodded and looked at her curiously.

She had not yet made any move to change into her dragon.

He was really itching to see that dragon in action and he wasn’t the only one.

Everyone in the hidden city was the same as him.

They were making bets on the kind of dragon she was.

Every book, real or fantasy in relation to dragons had been added to the city library.

Alix was already on the top list of the famous system hosts and she hadn’t even been seen in action yet.

The second elevator opened and the real city was revealed to their eyes.

The others didn’t react as they were used to it already but to Caishen and Alix, the new wonders of this world had just been opened up and they couldn’t hide the shock in their eyes.

Some things stood out more than others like the many animals species walking on two feet, the buildings which seemed to be turning in different directions every other second as if they had life In the sky were flying aircrafts of different types being tested or guided to specific places.

They saw vehicles and aircrafts which were built differently and some could even transform shape and size depending on the obstacle in there path.

One did so right before their eyes and Caishen laughed.

“Holy shit, i mean fruit!”  “Yeah, it’s amazing the thinking vehicle, isn’t it?” professor J asked.

“A thinking vehicle?” Caishen repeated but his wonder filled voice held a question beneath.

“Is it like the self driving cars which many motor vehicle companies are trying to introduce?”  “Nope,” Maggie responded quickly.

They walked past a man riding a brown horse which seemed out of place in a city which was clearly run on technology, impressive and out of this world alien technology.

“A thinking car is so much better than an ordinary self driving car.

It is designed to anticipate the needs and condition of the rider.

Say for example you have a heart condition and this information is logged into the vehicle’s system.

Suppose you have a heart attack one day on your way home.

It can sense the change in your bodily functions and automatically set a course for a hospital.

It’s voice feature can even call ahead to the hospital and explain your condition so by the time you arrive, doctors know what to do to help you.” Maggie continued.

Caishen imagined how many engineers and owners of car companies would collapse if they heard Maggie calling the technology they were so proud of ordinary.

However, Maggie was right, the thinking car was a lot more complex than an ordinary car.

If the thinking car and self driving car were on the market and both happened to be affordable, people would go for the thinkin one.

Caishen didn’t personally think he would, however.

A car that had an ability to think and anticipate your needs sounded like a machine that could be used to control you.

Maybe he had watched too many movies in which robots rose up and against humans but this sounded like a recipe for it.

His paranoia did not take away from the greatness of the machines however.

“That’s some impressive technology.” Caishen admitted loudly.

“Do you want to know what else they can do?” Maggie asked him.

“Forget the cars, why is there someone riding a horse?” Alix asked eagerly.

“How are those trains moving in the sky and i can hear the sound of water, a lot of water and ships.

Are we by any chance near a large sea?

I also hear kids laughing and….” she closed her eyes and listened.

“It sounds like they are in class.”  Because her eyes were closed, she didn’t see the three robots which walked passed them in perfect sync or the soldiers that were training, running with their bare chests out.

Caishen noticed all of these things while also paying attention to what Alix was describing.

“I smell fresh food, baked bread, and popcorn.” “Wow, her hearing is awesome.” Mantis clapped, small claps that were basically taps of her hands against each other.

“Being a dragon must be awesome.”  “Alix is right, we are next to the ocean a part of the city is actually under the ocean.

It’s how we travel from one country to another easily without detection.” Maggie explained to Caishen.

As a competitor who also wanted an investment from Caishen, he was just as willing to stick to him like honey the same way the professor was doing.

“Where is the snow?” Alix opened her eyes and looked around.

“It doesn’t snow in the hidden city.” Professor J replied.

“The sun shines all year round.” Mantis added.

“What sun?” Alix asked.

Unless she missed a class in her younger days, the sun did not shine under the ground.

They had to be using some kind of device to simulate the weather.

“Or a host controlling it.” her system contributed, finally after so much silence for too long.

She sharpened her lips and grabbed onto Mantis’s shirt.

“Wait, is that person that’s messing around with the weather here?

What kind of system do they have?

Is he from the dark side because people have died in those tragic unnatural weather incidents.”  “You know about Zi Shun?” Mantis blurted out.
