Chapter 453 - 453 Her father's kid
453: Her father’s kid.
453: Her father’s kid.
The Tais drove Alix to Qianmen, to the place where her mother had three bookstores in different areas.
They parked in front of one of the bookstores which was in a building that was next to a museum.
Even though she wondered why they were there, she didn’t ask.
Instead, she slipped her hand through her father’s arm and walked slowly with him, following her grandfather and mother that were walking ahead of them.
She looked around at the busy place, taking in the sights and the crowds.
As expected of a place that attracted tourists, it was packed full of them.
Despite the snow, someone was having an event or promoting the opening of a new store.
There was a booth outside and loud music was being played.
Around five people were dancing in furry animal costumes.
“That’s cute.” she commented.
“Mmmm.” her father responded.
She pointed at the dancing furries and repeated the statement which she had just made.
Chairman Tai laughed softly and then he looked back at her.
“You are cuter.” Alix looked around and then responded.
“Tch, father cutie patootie is the cutest.” The chairman smiled broadly as happiness engulfed him.
This was why he loved spending time with Alix, she knew just how to praise him and make him happy.
She also constantly sent him jackets, coats, shoes, good wine and called him daily to check on his health.
Having a daughter was awesome.
Alix was also relishing the moment, enjoying her first walk like this with her father.
It more than made up for Lin Qianfan’s earlier disturbance.
“Father, how is your work progressing?
Is anything stressing you in the office?
Do you have something i can help with?” She was asking because she had a lot of jades which were unused.
Thanks to billions she received from selling the land, she didn’t have to sell them to raise funds for the game.
In addition to that, TFK was preparing for it’s spring collection.
Lately, all of her brothers were busy with that.
“Mmm, it’s so nice to have someone that cares about me.” The chairman exaggerated.
What he said was of course not true because his wife did care a lot.
But, there was a difference between the love of a wife and that of a daughter.
“I have received many requests from the public relations department to include you as a model for the company.
Your pictures from the party raked up sales for us.
All the jewelry you wore sold out in two days.” She beamed up on hearing this news.
Did it mean she had achieved the fame she was searching for and now carried the same power as a popular influencer?
“Really.” “Really, you are almost at par with that male model…the one your mom enjoys looking at when he thinks i am not looking.” he finished off sullenly.
There was only one male model in TFK, Aaang.
He had a lot of female fans and he was adored greatly in TFK.
The company gave him the same treatment as a top star celebrity.
“I guess that means i am as pretty as Aang.” “No, you are prettier.” The chairman said strongly.
Then he winced softly and added, “And he is not pretty, he is…” “Striking.” Alix jumped in with the word fitting Aang’s looks.
With a slight pout which was hilarious for a man of his age, chairman Tai looked at Alix.
“My daughter, don’t tell me that you are also on his side.
I know he is your friend but that guy can’t be trusted just because of his good looks.
He has shifty eyes, very shifty.
When he enters the room, he prefers to sit at the back in a corner and then he watches everyone with a mysterious look in his eyes.
He studies us like a detective in an action movie.” Alix was certain why Aang would do such a thing now that she knew more about him.
She couldn’t believe that she had missed signs like those.
“I don’t trust that pretty boy at all.
I only tolerate him because he is your friend.” After mumbling his grievance, he pointed to the East and smiled.
“Ah, it’s kids wonder world.
Do you want to go and play?” Kids wonderworld was the biggest childrens indoor playing area in the city.
It had many toys and different activities plus classes like taekwondo, swimming, dancing and others.
Everything there catered to the needs and enjoyment of children.
“Father, i am not a kid.” Alix laughed.
“Wrong, you are my kid.” “That’s true, i am.
I even look just like you father, i have your nose and eyes.” she joked.
He looked down at her, meeting her eyes which were looking up and laughed proudly.
“You are my daughter indeed, a photocopy of me in every way.” “I disagree.” Grandpa Tai looked back and shouted out playfully.
Laughing, they all entered an art gallery but came to a standstill when they were met with a surprising scene.
The gallery was mostly empty and Alix had not noticed before but there were men in black suits guarding outside and inside.
The few people inside were surrounded, and they were being prevented from going out.
A woman in a royal blue suit was slapping a man and he was just standing still, taking it.
Alix froze for a few seconds before looking around then, to see if everybody was seeing the same thing as her.
“Father…” she whispered.
“Don’t intervene.” He tightened his hold on her arm to keep her still and stop her from enacting any foolish notions of heroism that could possibly overwhelm her.
Less than one step in front of them, auntie Mo shook her head and sighed.
“She is at it again.” Alix realized then that she was the only one who was confused about the situation.
“Who is she?” she whispered.
“Shen Biao daughter of congressman Shen Chuntao.
The man that she is slapping is her husband.
It’s not the first time that she has done something like this and it won’t be the last.” The woman that was being discussed in whispers ended her slapping mission, turned around and walked towards them.
Watching her move so agilely Alix was reminded of a tigress.
“Madam Mo, i had no idea that you were coming today.” She said, with a smile on her lips when she reached them.
You wouldn’t imagine that she was the same woman that had been slapping her husband.
“Hello, miss Shen, I brought my daughter over for personal reasons.
I didn’t think we would be…” Auntie Mo broke off and tilted her head, looking at the man who had been slapped but still had to follow his wife like a helpless lackey.
Shen Biao turned her sharp gaze to Alix and Alix, like a scared child partially hid behind her father.
