The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 441 - 441 Us vs them
441: Us vs them 441: Us vs them With confidence, she looked at the prosecutor general as well.
If everyone was doing a show and tell, she wanted him to show what he was.
“You too, sir, with all due respect.” “What kind of tricks are you playing?
Are you simply trying to get information out of us?” Maggie asked.
Alix spread her hands out slightly, gesturing that she was completely open and honest.
“I am not playing any tricks and yes, i want information.
I am at a disadvantage here because you all seem to know more about me than i do about you.
These pictures prove that you have been watching me for a while.
Isn’t it a given that i would want to know more about who i am dealing with?” “Just give her what she wants or she will badger you until she gets it.” Aang told them.
He sat down next to the prosecutor general and continued flipping through a men’s health magazine, appearing to be as uninterested as possible in the happenings round him.
Maggie looked at Mantis and she nodded.
Without saying a single word, she morphed, turning into the black biggest ant Alix had ever seen.
It was by far the creepiest thing had ever seen on earth, an ant of that size.
“Insect morphing system.” Maggie told Alix.
As Mantis changed back into a human, Maggie morphed as well, turning into the magpie.
“Bird morphing system.” Mantis shared.
Alix leaned forward and she held her hand out.
The little magpie jumped into her hands and she carried it, bringing it all the way close to her eyes.
“So, you are the little birdie that has been following me around.” She inspected the bird from side to side and then held it upside down and looked at it’s belly and between its legs.
Maggie, fluttered his wings and attempted to use them to cover himself.
“That’s a violation, stop looking.” a voice came from the bird.
Alix put it down, it flew back to the chair and changed back to human.
“I was just trying to see if you are an ordinary magpie or a special breed.” She explained quickly to the man who was glaring at her as if she had just assaulted him.
“Sorry.” Alix added.
She turned to the prosecutor general and he shook his head.
“I am not a system host, i am one of the people in government that is aware of your kind and responsible for enforcing law and order in the bureau of systems branch in our country.
Like Mantis told you, there are good system hosts and there are bad ones.
When people like you commit crimes, things tend to become really bad for ordinary humans.” “So you arrest and prosecute them.” Alix inquired.
He laughed and asked, “Do you think i can prosecute someone who can teleport from here to say Mars in a heartbeat?
Stop fishing for more information miss Tai and you fulfill your end of the deal.
We have other things to follow up on.” Alix shrugged and she changed into her dragon form immediately, stunning those in the room that didn’t expect it.
Everyone thought there would be a warning at least before she went full dragon on them.
The soldiers were so startled that they pulled out weapons while the prosecutor general jumped away but held firmly onto Aang in case he needed to make a quick exist.
So that’s why Aang is here, she thought.
“So, now you know.” she chuckled.
Then she changed back into human form before they could get a closer look at the dragon.
“Wait, i didn’t get any pictures.” Mantis said loudly.
“We didn’t get any scales.” Someone else shouted from behind.
That persons words prompted everyone to turn their heads or eyes to him.
It was a man and he was holding a scalpel and a small container.
He had a pained look on his face, disappointed because he had not got any piece of the dragon for research.
“If you ever try to touch me with that thing i will bite your head off.” Alix threatened, in a very deep and very serious voice.
Turning back to her welcoming crew, she sneered with obvious anger on her face.
“Is this why you came to see me.
You want to chop me up for parts and study me?” “No.” Maggie said strongly.
“Qian is an overly eager excited idiot, please ignore him.
No system host is required to give blood samples or anything without their wish.” He looked at Aang and made a gesture with his head.
Aang stood up, approached Qian and teleported away with him.
“We are sorry about that.” The prosecutor general calmly apologized.
“There hasn’t been a new system host in the world in the last two years so the scientists are excited.
You being a dragon makes them all the more fascinated with you.
I will make it clear right now, you don’t have to do anything you want.
System hosts have rights just as normal humans do.
You also have special status in every country because you are valuable to us.
All you have to do is follow the laws put in place for you like no commiting random murders except in circumstances that cannot be helped like self defense.
You cannot reveal your abilities to the public.
If any friend or family knows about your uniqueness, you must inform the bureau of Systems and that person will also be given guidelines to follow.
Occasionally, you will be called upon to help your country or the world in general in one way or another.
Of course, you will be paid for services rendered.” Paperwork was pushed towards Alix with the expectation that she would sign it.
“What if i don’t want to work for the country or join the bureau of systems?” she asked.
For a moment, the welcoming party kept quiet and looked at each other.
Alix figured that there was more they hadn’t told her and it was about to come out.
Maggie gravelly responded, “We have told you about bad system hosts and good ones.
I guess we should tell you about the dark side too.” “Dark side.” Alix frowned in confusion.
“They are system hosts who used their abilities to amass countless wealth through evil means.
They kill, steal, cheat and destroy.” He added.
“They are the same group that want to destroy the current world order and establish a new one where system hosts rule.
They have no qualms about killing other hosts who refuse to join their side.” Mantis told her.
“We know about you so the possibility that they do as well is very big.
If you are not with us, they will come for you, make a similar offer with all sorts of promises about wealth, glory, power and freedom.
But if you turn them down, they will go after you and your family.” The prosecutor general shared.
“There is a secret war between us and them, good vs evil.
No human with a system stays neutral, they must all pick sides.
The moment for you to pick yours has come.” He pushed the paper work forward and held a pen out to her.
