The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 411 - 411 Thoughts on the magpie
411: Thoughts on the magpie.
411: Thoughts on the magpie.
On the virtual screen, the blue elf brought up a picture of the magpie.
It had been captured by one of the security cameras at the school during the time when Alix was playing her violin in the midst of the musical orchids.
It had been perched on top of one of the parasols, watching her keenly.
“It’s not normal for a bird to be focused on just one thing for so long.” It said.
Alix completely agreed with that and besides, now that she recalled with clarity, she had seen the bird as well.
It was just for a second but she remembered spotting it on the roof of Yanfang’s apartment.
Her mind had been occupied at the time and she didn’t give it much thought when she was flying away.
“It has got to be them, the ones watching Lai Yanfang.” It suggested.
“I need to scan it up close and figure out if it’s a drone, something from the game or a host with a shape shifting system.” Here we go again, they were back to playing the gamer, system host or alien guessing game.
A full body transformation from human to another creature like her and the dragon could mean a gamer player.
“Did anybody get a magpie card in the game?” “No, it’s too weak.” “You are forgetting that i picked up a random card from the ground which gave me Majesty.
Before answering, you should first investigate.” She was not going to panic anymore because she and the system already had a plan of inviting the fly into their web.
The system went off to investigate, Majesty quieted down and she paid a visit to the first world, in search of lucky rabbits feet, jewels and bracelets to save her life and the lives of her loved ones.
The car soon brought her home and she went inside quickly, in search of food and a warm bath.
Besides that, she wanted to know what secrets Caishen and his people had pulled out of Lai Yanfang.
Also, she was quite curious about the final fate of the woman.
What did they intend to do with her?
First, she located the kitchen where she found Wang Ma dozing off in a chair in the corner.
Slowly, she shook the woman awake.
“Nanny Wang.” The nanny opened her eyes and moaned slightly.
“Young madam, you are back.” she said slowly.
“What time is it?” “Late.
You should go to bed” Alix replied.
She had often thought that they needed to get younger maids to help out around the house.
Both nannies were too old to be staying up so late and doing jobs that required so much heavy lifting.
Regular maids from Blossom courts management helped but they were not full time workers.
“I will prepare your food.” Nanny Wang told her.
Getting up slowly, the older woman looked at the food which was still on heat, being kept warm.
“Please go to bed nanny Wang.
I have hands to do this myself and next time i come home late, don’t bother waiting for me.” While saying this, Alix helped herself as she intended, putting food on a plate for herself.
She got some rice, stir fried pork and a few vegetables to add color to the plate.
Nanny Wang was standing behind her, hovering while Alix served herself.
She could hear every breath that the older woman took and wondered if she had something to say.
“Are the boys in bed?” she asked.
“Yes, they went to bed a few minutes past nine.
Little master Xiaobo is sleeping with them tonight.
He went to bed a little disappointed because he didn’t see you.
The older boy, Yuewei was picked up by his mother.” Alix nodded absentmindedly as the nanny explained.
She got chopsticks and a spoon then turned around.
“Thank you so much for helping out with them.” she told the nanny.
“Is there something else you want to discuss with me?” Nanny Wang glanced sideways, and then she looked at Alix.
“Nothing young madam, you have a goodnight.” “You too nanny Wang.” She didn’t ask anything more and she figured that if the older woman had something to discuss she would eventually get around to revealing it.
Alix took her plate and passed by her brothers bedroom first.
So as not to disturb the boys, she didn’t switch the light on.
She placed her plate down gently on Wu Wei’s reading desk and approached the beds slowly.
All the boys were sleeping, including Xiaobo who was sharing a bed with Wu Gang.
Xiaobo was spread out so wide, occupying more than half of the bed.
He was also holding Alix’s fat owl plushie and she guessed he had stolen it from her room.
Every time he slept over, the fat owl plushie ended up in bed with him.
If it wasn’t a gift from Caishen, she would long have given it to him.
But, even when she gave him others, he would still return for the owl specifically.
She rearranged him carefully and kissed his forehead.
Then, she moved on to Wu Gang and Wu Wei.
After whispering goodnight, she picked up her plate and walked straight to her bedroom.
“Hubby, i am coming with a plate of food.” she announced loudly as soon as she opened the door.
Marching forward with determined steps and a hungry belly, she located the chairs in the bedroom and put the food down on the table.
“Hubby Zhang.” she called again.
She kicked off her slippers and ripped her stockings off.
Then, she shoved two large portions of food into her mouth while shrugging out of her coat.
“If you choke, i am not reviving you.” her system warned.
She rolled her eyes extravagantly.
Clearly, the system had not seen her on her most hungry days.
Back then, once opportunity to fill her stomach struck, she would eat like a starving beggar that had one opportunity to eat and a ticking clock.
The bedroom door opened and Caishen rolled into their bedroom.
He found her shoveling more food into her mouth.
When she saw him, she raised her hand and waved it.
She covered her mouth and called out softly.
“Hubby.
I have been looking for you.” She pointed to her plate with the chopsticks and sent him an inquisitive look, curious if he wanted to share some of her food.
Catching on quickly, he shook his head.
“Slow down.” he told her.
She nodded, but her hand and mouth did not really do as he said.
He didn’t comment again because it was never a good thing if someone got between Alix and her food when she was ravenous.
“Did you get her?” she covered her mouth and asked.
He nodded.
Alix swallowed and asked, “Why did she do that to you?” He snorted in disgust.
“Because she married a violent psychopath and when she realized that she had made a mistake she decided that she wanted to come back to me so i was supposed to drop everything and rescue her.
When that didn’t happen, she decided that i should be punished so she gave me a death sentence.” Alix covered her mouth and sneered.
A stupid fruit, is what Lai Yanfang was.
