The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system
Chapter 408 - 408 Stray bullets

408: Stray bullets.

408: Stray bullets.

Outside the house, Alix walked through the snow which some servants were sweeping away from the path leading to the house and she made it to her car.

“Wait, don’t drive.” she told uncle Ju when he started the engine.

She was displeased, and it showed on her face clearly.

Bi Cang was not sure about what to do so he sent a text to Caishen telling him that the young madam was unhappy after being summoned by the elders.

Alix scoffed and muttered, “Uncultured!”  She had heard Nana clearly calling her uncultured.

Nana the bank card thief, gluttonous loud mouth shrew dared to call her uncultured!

It was incredibly annoying, so much so that Alix felt the need to do something about it.

Since she couldn’t express her rage physically, she could do it another way.

“How many of those bad luck things do i have?” she asked the system.

It had acquired a few more for her but she had never touched them.

Now, thanks to two wicked women, she was in the mood to put some of them to use.

“Eight.” It responded.

“And you can call them coupons instead of those things.

I really don’t understand how i ended up with a host whose language is similar to that of a toddler.” “One for Nana and one for that Joy woman.” She instructed the blue elf in her mind.

She didn’t comment on the system’s assessment of her language skills.

She was still thinking about the blue eyed woman.

A combination of her and Nana was not a good recipe.

It would not take long for those two to get together, share bad ideas and plot something to elevate Wang Yong’s status in the family.

In an audible voice that both Bi Cang and uncle Ju could hear, she said, “Madam Joy, hmph!

more like madam misery.

What joy does she bring?”  She wouldn’t waste one more thought on them.

However, since her bad mood had been triggered, she ended up thinking about Lin Billi and Jing Hee.

Those three were a different kind of misery altogether.

“Also Lin Billi, Jing Hee and Lin Qianfan.

Send those ones some bad luck as well.” she told the system.

Then she turned to uncle Ju and said, “Let’s go back to school.” The system elf covered its mouth and chuckled.

It looked like the poor Lin’s would be hit by stray bullets today.

Inside the house, the mood was a bit off.

In the mixture of the happiness of the Zhang elders was the wet jealous useless blanket Nana.

“Bring the fruit and lemon tarts.” Grandma Zhang ordered Nana through gritted teeth.

She was gritting her teeth because she was annoyed by Nana’s little remarks which everyone that had a good sense of hearing had heard.

“Yes, mother-in-law.” Nana responded in a soft coquettish voice.

She stood up and bowed extravagantly like an actress in a palace harem drama whose survival depended on pleasing the dowager queen.

As soon as she left, elder Ren who had yet to say a word the entire time finally spoke up.

“Elder Zhang, your family dynamics have become quite strange.

Since when did you start allowing mistresses to show their faces in public?”  He was so straight forward in rearing the arrow and shooting it out with the aim for the bullseye as intended.

Grandma Zhang clenched her right hand around her walking cane.

She couldn’t help looking at her son Zhang Xian, another individual that had long been quiet since the guests arrived.

Even though she loved her son so much, a part of her was disappointed in him so much for still keeping Nana around.

There were other ways to pay what they owed her without having her prance around as their daughter-in-law.

Even if it wasn’t Yura, they could find another worthy wife for him to avoid such embarrassments.

“Elder Ren, we are not yet in-laws.

If you must criticize my family, you should do so in whispers like everyone else is doing.”  Directly, without displaying any shame, elder Zhang responded.

He wouldn’t allow another person to point fingers or rub salt in his wounds.

“Besides, she is the mother of my youngest grandson that is to marry your granddaughter.

Her status doesn’t matter much in comparison to the status your daughter will gain by marrying into our family.”  He put down the cup of tea in his hands and smiled like an old fox.

“Of course, we can always call off that arrangement if its a problem.”  Elder Ren’s face tightened and he smiled stiffly.

“Of course not.

We shouldn’t ruin such a wonderful match just because the stock came from the wrong breed.”  The stock he was referring to was Wang Yong and the breed, Nana.

“Still, you should keep her behind the scenes whenever necessary.

But on the other hand, i guess i should congratulate you for having such a talented grand daughter-in-law.

I am worried that our Yi Song will not match up.”  Madam Joy’s upper lip stiffened, displeased obviously by the comparison.

Everyone knew Alix’s background, so to compare her to Yi Song was an insult.

Grandpa Zhang could read the undertones.

Old Ren was looking for compliments for his granddaughter.

He did not let him down, as he desired.

“Yi Song is one of the country’s best police women.

We see her regularly on television acting as a go between between the media and public.

On top of her beauty, she is well educated and well spoken.

It is our Zhang family’s gain to have a daughter-in-law like her.” Elder Ren smiled proudly as grandpa Zhang praised his granddaughter.

He didn’t say it aloud but he also didn’t Alix much.

He found her rude and brutish.

She spoke out of turn and had a lot of pride for a young woman.

In the long run, the Zhang’s would see that Yi Song was the better daughter-in-law.

She had been raised in the ways of a wealthy family after all.

A loud crash came from somewhere in the house and then a woman’s cry was heard.

It was more of a yell that turned into continuous crying.

Grandma Zhang excused herself to go and see the fuss.

Something had obviously happened to Nana.

She and her husband were now familiar with the sound of her cries.

Zhang Xian stood up as well to go and check on Nana.

If he stayed behind, it would have appeared as irresponsible.

“I think i should go and help.” Madam Joy stood up and offered to help, out of the blue.

She was wearing a traditional hanfu which had a modern twist to it as it was a long sleeved shirt and a long skirt.

As soon as she stood up, the skirt ripped out of the blue.

The rip was one straight line, almost like a scissor had been taken to the outfit, slicing all the way to the middle of her thighs.

Madam Joy was so mortified that she screamed.

The two elders looked away, embarrassed for her sake.

Little did they know that this would be the beginning of embarrassment for the woman on this day.
