The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system
Chapter 376 - 376 The patience of a sloth

376: The patience of a sloth.

376: The patience of a sloth.

The next day, Caishen left on one of the Zhang group helicopters for Shanghai and Alix decided to sleep over at the Tai’s while the twins would spend the night at Meifen’s place.

Alix had returned to bed after seeing Caishen off and for the rest of the day, she had no plans of going to the school.

The reason for this was simple, she was supposed to partake in the final level three battle.

As a matter of fact, she was lagging behind as those who qualified were already one hour ahead of her.

Her reason for not rushing was simple, she only needed to kill the bad general to win.

All the other challenges were not relevant to her.

Comfortable in bed, she was watching other players as they engaged with the troops of the bad general.

Some were fighting on water and others in air.

Bullets and explosions dominated half the laptop screen.

There was a single structure built on the water that everyone was trying to get to.

It was a blue high rise building that reflected the blue of the water.

It stretched as high as the eye could see in the sky.

Alix was beginning to think that the game creators had a liking for towers or tower like structures.

Did every bad guy have to hide on the top floor?

“Who says he is on the top floor?” The system elf responded to her thoughts.

Alix looked down at the last floor of the building.

If he wasn’t up there then her immediate presumption was that he was down there, on the last floor.

Or maybe he was inside the water itself.

Why else would someone build their lair on top of water if not to use the water as a means of escape?

“It can’t be.” She muttered.

“So simple and predictable.” The system said.

Alix looked at the thousands of space ships in the air, forces from both sides that were many in number, so much so that they covered the sky.

All that fire power was being wasted in her opinion.

Those that were attacking on water were the wise ones.

Still, she didn’t make a move, even though she knew where the bad general was.

Lazily, she stayed invisible and munched on juicy dark berries.

“It has been two hours host, what are you waiting for to engage?

Your fans are asking what you are planning.”  “I am going to wait for someone to prepare the bridal dress and then swoop in at the last moment and steal the bride.

I am already late to the party as it is.

I just need to know who is closest to victory.

If it’s the despicable elf, i will blow us all up and see to it that nobody gets the victory.”  “Or you could just blow up everyone that is not you since we suspect someone on earth could be a player.

Need i remind you that Lai Yanfang’s uncle has poison that doesn’t belong here?

From now on, it’s either you take the win or nobody does.”  “Yaaaa, how petty you are.” she muttered.

But, she was on board with the system elf entirely.

It was either her, or nobody else.

In that spirit, she made her own ship which was sailing on the water visible and she armed it to self explode.

After starting a countdown, she sat in a smaller stealth ship and waited for the glorious fireworks.

She would strike after getting everyone and everything out of her way.

“Launch more explosives, the fans are excited by your ruthlessness and willingness to take out those you consider friends too.” The system told her.

Alix tapped her arsenal of weapons and released more weapons, two dozens of them.

She launched the explosives which took off at the speed of bullets.

She stayed back and waited for the destruction which she had started.

She had the patience of a sloth in this case, a lot.

In fact, when it came to final battle, she didn’t have much interest in the final reward.

It was her assumption that the reward after all, would be a weapon.

“You know something blue smurf….” she said slowly.

“What?”  “This has been the most boring level so far.

Don’t get me wrong, i love the technology and it’s amazing to see and use all these guns and lasers and explosives but i kind of miss the physical touch of the last world.

It was better than the first one too.

The moment i stabbed the dark wizard in the ear with my flute was awesome.

It gave me chills.”  The blue elf knew that she was exaggerating.

She didn’t get any chills.

While she was engaging in her battle, Caishen was engaging in a battle of silent wits of his own.

He had been taken to the building expo as soon as he arrived.

The expo was of course covered by dozens of reporters from different stations because a lot of big companies and wealthy CEOS’s were in attendance.

Caishen had barely taken a step inside the building when reporters descended on him like a pack of hyenas.

Thankfully, he was surrounded by his bodyguards that protected him from every angle.

The bodyguards were joined by the guards tasked to keep order at the expo and they managed to get the reporters to settle down.

All was becoming peaceful until one reporter shouted an unanticipated question.

“CEO Zhang, is it true that you banished your bastard brother from the country because he is behind your accident?”  It was a question so unexpected that it stunned other reporters into the silence while piquing their interest at the same time.

They had barely dealt with the rumor of the resurrected Zhang Xian having a second wife and now the new half brother was already going for the throne by attempting to kill the older brother.

Those whose fingers were speedy managed to snap shots of Caishen’s angry face, especially his jaw which flexed.

“There is a rumor that he was aware of the fact that his father was actually Zhang Xian two years ago.

Don’t you find it strange that rather than join the family he chose to go into the construction business and compete with you secretly?

How close is the relationship between you and your half-brother?

Don’t you harbor any suspicions…..” The reporter continued yelling out questions one after the other without waiting for a response.

It seemed as if he was on a mission to disseminate information or show off all of the facts he had collected, true or false.

Caishen didn’t grace the reporter with a response.

He turned around and headed into the building.

Gu Biming stayed back instead and he smiled unpleasantly.

It was such a pleasant day but it was being ruined by idiots like this gossip hunter.

This was a building and construction expo.

If any questions had been asked about the company, they would have gladly welcomed them but instead, the reporter was asking about personal matters.

It wasn’t just the wrong place, wrong time and wrong subject but the height of incompetence.

“I understand that a few misinformed reporters sometimes leap without looking but if any of this fiction is published, the Zhang group will be taking legal steps to remedy the situation.

Please enjoy the exhibition.”
