Chapter 631: Chapter 461: The Hard Thing in the Takeout Passage_2
Liu Zheng took out a large handful of dried fish and placed it in front of the Sphinx.
The Sphinx sniffed, then lazily used a paw to pick up a piece of dried fish and slowly chewed it, showing a satisfied expression on its face.
He resisted the urge to pet its head and walked into the Clinic.
"You’re here, wait a moment, I’ll just finish with this patient."
Doctor Nile was consulting with a patient and greeted Liu Zheng while focusing on the patient in front of him.
The patient was a dwarf, about 1.2 meters tall, wearing overalls and a T-shirt, with a side-parted hairstyle.
On the surface, there didn’t seem to be anything special, nor did he look sick.
"Oh, it’s grown a whole size since last time. Conservative treatment won’t work anymore; surgery is necessary now."
Doctor Nile observed for a while and said.
"Doctor, are you going to remove part of it?"
The dwarf asked.
"Removing part of it won’t work; it will only stimulate it to grow even more crazily. It must be completely eradicated."
Doctor Nile shook his head.
"Ah, what will I use after it’s removed?"
The dwarf said with a mournful face.
"Don’t worry, we’ll give you a replacement. Although the replacement is a bit small, it will still be fully functional."
Doctor Nile said.
"How small?"
The dwarf inquired.
"About this small."
Doctor Nile extended his pinky finger.
"Huh? That’s not enough even when it’s hard, right?"
"Uh, actually, that’s its size when it’s hard."
Doctor Nile scratched his head and said.
"No!"
The dwarf screamed and fainted on the spot.
Liu Zheng quickly caught him and saw the object dragging on the floor.
"Holy shit!"
Liu Zheng blurted out.
This thing was nearly as long as the dwarf himself and its thickness was extremely exaggerated.
"Impressive, right? I’ve been practicing medicine for so many years and have seen patients of all races and all kinds of tools, but this one is still the largest and thickest I’ve ever seen."
Doctor Nile said proudly.
"It’s not even yours, why are you so proud?"
He said speechlessly.
"It will be mine soon."
"The patient hasn’t even agreed yet, you don’t plan to cut it by force, do you?"
Liu Zheng said with narrowed eyes.
Even in the Metropolis, such an approach is too unethical.
"He will agree, because his life is more important than a ding-dong. Besides, I’m not leaving him without one; a small one is still cute."
Doctor Nile said nonchalantly.
"It’s not life-threatening, right? It’s just inconvenient at most."
Anyhow, he knew many males willing to tolerate such inconveniences for various reasons.
"Hehe, do you know how tall he used to be?"
Doctor Nile asked.
"How tall?"
"Two and a half meters, weighing over five hundred pounds, strong enough to punch you from the Clinic’s entrance to the opposite side of the road."
Doctor Nile said, gesturing as he spoke.
"Wow, how did he end up like this?"
"That ding-dong drained all his vitality. In a way, it’s turned into a parasitic organism. If not removed, it’ll keep draining the host’s vitality until death."
Doctor Nile explained.
"And you still want it? Can you even withstand its draining?"
"I’m not using it for myself. Even poison can be medicinal if used correctly. Who knows when we might come across a patient with an overabundance of vitality; then this ding-dong could come in handy."
Doctor Nile said.
"Makes sense."
Liu Zheng nodded, briefly considering buying the ding-dong to send to Britain.
But he quickly abandoned the idea.
No matter how well the rich woman could manage, adding this ding-dong’s firepower would be too much for even Britain; if something went wrong, he’d have to clean up the mess.
It’s better to avoid such self-inflicted troubles.
"Should I wake him up for you?"
Liu Zheng asked.
As for how to wake him up, of course, it would be with a series of four slaps.
"No need, let him spend more time with his giant ding-dong; he won’t die anytime soon. Why are you here this time?"
Doctor Nile inquired.
"Two things. By the way, where’s Niu Daji?"
He asked.
"I sent him to help with the goods; he should be back soon. Why, do you need him?"
Doctor Nile asked.
"Oh, just asking. It’s not convenient to bring him this time."
Niu Ma trusting him doesn’t mean he trusts Niu Daji.
Although both share the "Niu" (Ox) in their names, they haven’t met yet, and at least need to interact a few times to build trust.
"Then you don’t mind me using it, right?"
Doctor Nile asked.
"No problem, it’s just sitting around anyway. But when I need it, don’t leave me high and dry."
Liu Zheng said half-jokingly.
"You speak as if I really cherish using it."
Doctor Nile rolled his eyes.
"Haha, just kidding, don’t think too much. Here, take a look at this."
He took out a ceramic jar he got from the takeout channel.
"Looks familiar, let me have a look."
Doctor Nile opened the lid and sniffed the contents.
"No mistake, this should be a jar used for Diyarja’s medicine."
He said.
"What’s Diyarja?"
"Hmm, how should I say it, it’s a general term for a type of medicine. The main ingredient is the same, but the supplements are varied."
Doctor Nile said.
"What’s the main ingredient?"
"Tooth bird slice."
Doctor Nile replied.
"I’m not sure if what you say is the same thing I know."
Liu Zheng said.
Many things in the Metropolis are similar yet different from reality, the same name doesn’t mean it’s the same stuff.
"You can easily verify it. I have it right here. Xiao Mei, bring out the tooth bird slice."
Doctor Nile called out to the back room.
"Okay, Doctor."
The voice of a cleaner came from the back room.
Before long, the cleaner came out with a box.
"Here, this is it."
Doctor Nile took the box, opened it for Liu Zheng to see.
Liu Zheng looked at the black-brown chunks inside, took a whiff, and was hit by a strong stench of aged urine.
"Hmm, must be the same thing."
He nodded.
"But this might not be potent enough for non-humans, right?"
"Strong physique doesn’t mean strong tolerance. Some races are inherently powerful but have poor tolerance to tooth bird slices. Just a small piece can make them overwhelmed."
"And this is just the raw tooth bird slice, it still needs further refinement with auxiliary ingredients."
Doctor Nile explained.
"So what are the supplements in this jar of Diyarja?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"How would I know, I’m a doctor, not a deity."
Doctor Nile replied impatiently.
"But, I can roughly smell there’s belladonna, asphalt, Yun Xiang, and wild peas in it. These are the four most commonly used supplements for Diyarja."
"This medicine likely uses over a dozen supplements, but I can’t identify the rest by smell."
"Do you know someone who can identify the full formula?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Why do you want to know? If you want a try, I have other medicines here that work better."
Doctor Nile said as he started to unwrap a bandage.
"No, no, I don’t need it, thank you anyway."
He quickly stopped him.
"Then what do you need this for?"
Doctor Nile asked.
"An entity gave me this jar, I think it wants me to find more of the medicine inside for it."
Liu Zheng explained.
"Oh. Then you should ask here."
Doctor Nile tore off a small piece of bandage and wrote down an address for him.
"Just show this bandage and say I introduced you."
Doctor Nile said.
"Got it, thank you, Doctor."
Liu Zheng glanced at the address and put it in his pocket.
"But that guy has a bad temper and is very greedy, so be prepared for your wallet to take a hit."
Doctor Nile reminded him.
"Even for someone introduced by an acquaintance?"
He asked.
"For strangers, it’s half-off; for acquaintances, it’s full price. Haven’t you heard that saying among humans?"
"Yes, I’ve heard it."
"At most, my recommendation will ensure he doesn’t trick you into being a test subject or sell you fake medicine."
Doctor Nile said.
"Well, that’s good enough."
Liu Zheng shrugged.
Niu Ma got beaten half to death for selling fake wine to the French Plane Tree; if he delivered fake medicine through the takeout channel, he wouldn’t fare much better.
"What’s your second matter?"
Doctor Nile asked.
