Chapter 468: Chapter 380: Is SM Really Such an Inconvenience? _2
"The fact that she could land a job is quite impressive."
Liu Zheng commented.
"Indeed pretty impressive, but that’s about it. Countless non-human newcomers don’t survive the first week, let alone a human little girl."
"By the way, how young is this little girl you’re talking about?"
Shisan Yao suddenly asked.
"Uh, around eleven or twelve years old, poor as dirt."
He pondered and then said.
"Tch, lost interest then."
Shisan Yao immediately felt disinterested.
If it were a buxom beauty, he would have been interested in making her acquaintance.
If she could serve him well, he wouldn’t mind backing her up.
But since it’s just a little brat, better let her fend for herself.
"By the way, boss, do you know Miss Yangzi from the Servicing Department?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Yangzi? You mean Yaoji, right?"
Shisan Yao said.
"Not sure, I guess so."
"So that human little girl managed to climb her way up. No wonder she got the job."
Shisan Yao nodded in understanding.
No need to mention it, he already knew Liu Zheng must have heard the name Yangzi from Wan Zi.
"Is this Miss Yaoji very impressive?"
Liu Zheng inquired.
"She isn’t much impressive herself, just dedicated to her work that’s all."
"However, her sister is quite something, married to a regular employee at the City Hall."
Shisan Yao said.
In the Metropolis, aside from the true desperados, no one’s not afraid of the City Hall.
Especially those in business, the City Hall has a thousand ways to corner them if they desire.
Even though the top ten bathhouses all have powerful backers, no one wants to invite unnecessary trouble.
So as long as Yaoji doesn’t doom herself, no one will pick on her."
"In that case, this Miss Yaoji must be quite amiable."
Liu Zheng remarked.
"She’s okay, you might as well chat with her if you get the chance. As for the others, forget it, the women from the Servicing Department are all too much for you to handle."
Shisan Yao cautioned him.
"So all of them should be left for you to handle, boss?"
"Exactly! Hahaha, you’re pretty quick on the uptake."
Shisan Yao laughed heartily.
"Speaking of which, I’ve taken up too much of your time, boss. Here’s my penalty."
Liu Zheng took out a stack of banknotes and stuffed it into his pocket.
"Very good, very good, I’m starting to like you more and more. It would be perfect if you could keep this up."
Shisan Yao felt the thickness of the banknotes, his smile glowing with sincerity.
"I don’t quite understand what you mean, boss."
He said, without changing his expression.
"Never mind if you don’t understand. Just a reminder, if you ever cross my bottom line, don’t expect any mercy from me, I’ll at most leave you a whole corpse."
"These bills, I’ll use them to buy your coffin."
Shisan Yao patted his pocket and said.
"No need for you to trouble yourself, boss, I have a good relationship with the Tomb Guardian at the cemetery, I trust they will provide me with the finest funeral supplies."
Liu Zheng said with a smile.
"You sure have a wide circle of friends. Let’s go, we’ve wasted enough time, the clients are getting impatient."
Shisan Yao glanced at him and then walked forward.
He followed closely behind.
The seventh floor’s setting was similar to the first floor, with one Paper House after another, only significantly larger in size.
"Don’t say I don’t take care of you, the first client I’ve arranged for you is absolutely top-notch," Shisan Yao said as he walked.
"May I ask boss, in what way are they top-notch?"
Liu Zheng asked with a nuanced expression.
In reality, the word ’top-notch’ often has a negative connotation when describing people.
"Of course, it refers to the literal meaning of top-notch. Easy-going, not demanding, and generous; just has a little quirk."
Shisan Yao said.
"What kind of little quirk?"
He had a bad feeling.
"Nothing much, just enjoys SM, that’s all."
Shisan Yao stated casually.
"Hmm..."
Liu Zheng opened his mouth as if to speak.
"And this client prefers to play the M role."
Thirteen continued.
"Oh~"
He seemed to have more to say but stopped himself.
"What were you just about to say?"
Thirteen suddenly turned around.
"Nothing much, I was just worried that I’m not aggressive enough to satisfy this esteemed guest’s requirements."
Liu Zheng said.
"Hmm, your concerns are not unreasonable."
Thirteen turned his head back around.
"This customer has an astounding Constitution; ordinary people can’t even think about hurting him, let alone relaxing him. If you find it’s too much for you later, feel free to ask to switch out. In consideration of Elder Qing’s face, I won’t make it difficult for you."
"But, you’ll go back the same way you came, understood?"
He said indifferently.
"Understood, Minister."
Liu Zheng nodded.
He was aware that this was the opportunity Thirteen was giving him, as well as a test.
Though uncertain about how much Thirteen really knew, if he couldn’t even pass the first challenge, neither Thirteen nor the faction he represented would be interested in further collaboration.
"We’re here."
Thirteen suddenly stopped.
Liu Zheng looked at the doorplate next to him on the Paper House, 706.
"Oh, right, don’t ever mention monks or monkeys to it, or it will switch to being the ’S’ in that situation."
Having provided this reminder, Thirteen then slid open the paper door.
A huge wooden tub appeared before Liu Zheng’s eyes, equally striking was the mountain of lemons piled up beside the tub.
Four maids, dressed in the same dry garment style as Wan Zi, were continuously climbing up and down the ladder leaned against the tub, squeezing the lemons in their hands, letting the juice drip into the tub.
On hearing someone enter, they merely glanced over, then continued with the tasks in their hands.
"Stone Customer, sorry to have kept you waiting."
Thirteen bowed.
A customer is a god; even the head of the Massage Department must show due humility.
Seeing this, Liu Zheng followed suit, mirroring the angle and intensity of the bow.
"Doing... okay."
After a long while, a deep and slow voice came from inside the tub.
"This time, I have brought along a newcomer. Would Stone Customer be willing to give him a chance to serve you?"
Thirteen asked.
"It’s... possible."
After another brief wait, the slow voice rang out again.
"Thank you, Stone Customer, for your understanding. Alright, go out; I will personally attend to our esteemed guest’s bath."
Thirteen spoke to the maids.
Although he wasn’t the head of the Servicing Department, there were smaller matters where he could still issue commands to Servicing Department people.
"Yes, Minister Thirteen."
Sure enough, upon hearing this, the maids descended the ladder, bowed slightly to Thirteen, and left the Paper House.
"Ren He, join me in squeezing lemons for Stone Customer."
Thirteen called out.
"Oh, alright."
Liu Zheng, mirroring his actions, scooped up a handful of lemons from the pile and climbed up the ladder.
Once his eyes were above the height of the wooden tub, he could finally see the esteemed guest clearly.
In the tub, a massive stone slab with a pair of sturdy legs and a sharply angled upper body was seated cross-legged. The stone had no facial features or hands. Green moss grew from the feet up to the waist, and the head-like part was covered with many dead vines underneath which many wind-polished, gleaming skulls were set.
As Liu Zheng looked at it, he also felt numerous gazes shooting out from the empty eye sockets of those skulls, scanning him.
"What are you dawdling for, squeeze the lemon juice for Stone Customer."
Thirteen urged.
"Oh, okay."
He hurriedly took a lemon and squeezed it until it burst in his hand.
The slightly yellow juice, with some crushed pulp, fell into the tub, contributing a trivial rise to the water level.
"Keep going, don’t stop."
Thirteen said this while squeezing lemons, his moves flowing smoothly like water; each clench of his palm was perfectly timed to wring a whole lemon dry before accurately tossing the rind into the trash heap.
It was a mystery how many years he had been squeezing lemons to reach such proficiency.
And men, as creatures, often find themselves inexplicably fuelled by the urge to compete.
Seeing how fast Thirteen was squeezing, Liu Zheng subconsciously started to speed up his own pace, and Thirteen naturally wouldn’t let him catch up.
As the two of them raced in their attempt to outdo each other, the mountain of lemons was quickly depleted, and the water level of the tub nearly reached the lower part of the stone man’s head.
"Stone Customer, please enjoy your sour bath."
Thirteen, with Liu Zheng, climbed down the ladder and then stepped aside, saying,
"...Good."
With the stone man’s utterance settled, the sound of water churning instantaneously filled the room.
The next second, the huge wooden tub burst apart.
