Chapter 153 "Sunshine" Pet Shop
Chapter 153: Chapter 153 "Sunshine" Pet Shop
The Nile River shook continuously, and urine evenly scattered across the cloaked figure’s body in sync with his movements.
The pustules burst open under the irritation of the urine, and the pus oozed out, mixing with the urine and hissing smoke.
"Ugh."
A foul odor, mixing the stench of blood, decay, and rot, invaded Liu Zheng’s nostrils, and he quickly moved a bit farther away.
Two minutes later, the stream of urine gradually thinned until it disappeared.
"Whew~"
The Nile River shivered once more, emitting a sound of satisfaction.
"Alright, get up."
He said to the cloaked figure.
The cloaked figure silently got up and put on the cloak.
The Nile River took out a silver small knife, scraped off some dirt from his hangings, which could have been years or even a hundred years old, tore off a small piece of bandage, and wrapped the dirt inside.
"Here, take this back, burn it to ash, and then mix it with strong alcohol to drink. Now, repeat after me."
The Nile River said.
"Burn this package to ash and then mix it with strong alcohol to drink it down."
The cloaked figure repeated the instructions.
"Mm, alright, you may go."
The Nile River waved his hand.
The cloaked figure nodded, silently leaving the clinic.
"He doesn’t seem to have paid for the treatment?"
Liu Zheng reminded.
"I always collect the consultation fee upfront here."
The Nile River said.
"Oh~"
His expression was a bit peculiar.
"Can’t help it, a small enterprise. But don’t think it’s too expensive. In all the private clinics in the Metropolis, I have the best medical skills among those who charge less, and the lowest fees among those with good medical skills."
The Nile River proudly stated.
"I can see that."
After all, his medical supplies were sourced from his own body, a low cost that others simply couldn’t match.
Even if Liu Zheng didn’t believe in him, he would have to believe in Niu Ma’s stinginess.
"Right, what did you say you wanted?"
The Nile River shivered as he spoke.
"Oh, I was looking for a second-hand hangings that I could use."
Liu Zheng said.
"..."
The Nile River looked at him and then at his own crotch.
"You’re not making this up on the spur of the moment, are you?"
He asked doubtfully.
"No, no, you completely misunderstand. Here, how about you put on your pants before we continue."
Liu Zheng knew he had brought it up at an inappropriate moment and quickly said.
"Okay. But I warn you, if you even suggest buying my hangings, I’ll immediately feed you to the Scarabs."
The Nile River threatened.
He chuckled, neither admitting nor denying.
As long as the Nile River was willing to sell, he was not opposed to buying.
"So, what’s really going on?"
The Nile River tied up his bandages and asked with a bad tone.
"It’s like this, I have a friend..."
Liu Zheng explained the matter of Britannia in a way that wouldn’t break the rules.
"The friend you’re talking about isn’t you, is it?"
The Nile River glanced at his crotch.
Although it looked well-endowed, it could also be fake.
"No, mine is the real deal. Just tell me if you have it or not."
Of course, Liu Zheng was not about to drop his pants to prove his innocence.
"I do have it."
The Nile River nodded.
"But it might not suit you, ah no, your friend’s needs."
He added.
"Why not?"
"I’ll show you, and you’ll understand."
The Nile River walked to the corner and opened another stone coffin.
As soon as the lid lifted, cold air gushed out, dropping the clinic’s temperature by several degrees instantly.
A layer of frost also formed on the Nile River’s bandages.
Unperturbed by the chill, he rummaged through the stone coffin, and a few minutes later, pulled out a bandage-wrapped, rod-shaped object.
"There. This is it."
The Nile River closed the stone coffin and came back to Liu Zheng.
"This was from one of my guards back when I was still a Priest. He was having an affair with my concubine and even plotted against me. I sacrificed all of him except for this part to Anubis, leaving it as a warning to the other guards."
The Nile River explained.
"Can it be attached?"
"It can, but there’s a significant side effect."
The Nile River said.
"What is the side effect?"
"An uncontrollable urge to mate. If there’s a female, it will prioritize the female; no female, the male won’t be spared either; and if there’s no male, well, it’s going to hump anything it sees."
The Nile River spread his hands.
"Ah, this..."
So far, the few employees he had encountered from the customer service department all seemed to be male.
"Do you still want it? If not, I’ll just put it back."
The Nile River said.
"I’ll take it. How much?"
Liu Zheng said decisively.
After all, he wasn’t a member of the customer service department. Better them than him.
"Since you come recommended by an acquaintance, let’s say 100,000."
"It’s not expensive at that price. A replacement part without side effects would cost you at least 300,000 at a hospital."
The Nile River reasoned.
"Fine."
Liu Zheng didn’t haggle.
100,000 for two cosplay outfits was a fairly good deal.
And the Fisherman had already mentioned that the cost of cosplay outfits could be reimbursed.
Naturally, he wouldn’t let the Fisherman foot the bill.
A figure of this caliber’s favor was worth much more than 100,000.
Liu Zheng transferred 100,000 yuan to the Nile River.
"Sasha, put away the money,"
called Nile River towards the inner room.
"Alright, doctor."
Sasha emerged from the inner room, carrying a cup with nothing but tea leaves in it.
"Sigh."
Nile River took the teacup from her, sighing heavily.
"You just give her the money like that, aren’t you afraid she’ll use it to start a fire?"
asked Liu Zheng.
"I have no choice, if I don’t let her do something she’ll only get stupider,"
Nile River said helplessly.
"You truly have a healer’s kind heart,"
he praised.
In Metropolis, to treat one’s patients with such care, even if it was for the sake of having an extra unpaid assistant, was truly rare.
No wonder Niu Ma had always been receiving treatment from Nile River, despite his very special medical methods.
"It’s not entirely that. The descendants of Ra who moved to Metropolis are only Sasha and me left, so in a sense, Sasha is like my daughter,"
Nile River shook his head.
"By the way, young man, may I entrust you with a task?"
he suddenly asked.
"I’m sorry, doctor, but I really have too much on my plate already, I’m afraid I won’t have time to take on your errand,"
Liu Zheng refused.
Upon hearing his words, not only did Nile River not seem disappointed, but his eyes actually lit up.
The more tasks one had, the more capable he appeared.
For a delivery man to be able to shell out a hundred thousand for a keepsake already demonstrated a form of capability.
"Then let’s not call it an errand, just a father’s grumbling,"
Nile River amended.
"Go ahead,"
having said that, Liu Zheng could only listen.
"I’ve heard that there’s a special product in the cemetery that can enhance the Dead’s intelligence. If you could get me some, I’ll perform a Dead Revival for you free of charge,"
Nile River offered.
"What is Dead Revival?"
"You can think of it as a resurrection technique. As long as the dead haven’t been dead too long or didn’t die in some unusual way, they can generally be saved,"
Nile River explained.
"What counts as an unusual death?"
"That’s hard to say, I need to see the body first to know if the death was unusual or not,"
Nile River shook his head.
Liu Zheng thought of Natasha, who probably met the criteria for Dead Revival.
But to use such a rare opportunity on an ordinary little girl seemed to be a waste.
He shook his head, since he didn’t plan on finding that item for Nile River for the time being, he’d think about it later.
"Alright, I’ll keep this in mind."
"But why don’t you find it yourself? The cemetery environment should suit you, shouldn’t it?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"I’m not good at fighting, and it’s hard to protect Sasha if I take her out with me. If I don’t take her out, I worry she’d get herself killed,"
Nile River said resignedly.
"The Sphinx at the door seemed pretty strong, didn’t it?"
"It’s not under my command; it just has nowhere else to go, so at best it can keep watch for me,"
Nile River replied, shaking his head.
"Alright then, I’m off."
Liu Zheng placed the bandage keepsake into his delivery box and left the clinic.
Upon leaving the clinic, upon seeing the Sphinx idly swishing its tail, he had a sudden inspiration.
"Want some dried fish?"
asked Liu Zheng.
"Huh?"
The Sphinx’s eyes widened in confusion.
"From the kitchen of Bloody Restaurant, quite rare,"
he said, offering the last piece of dried fish to the Sphinx.
Liu Zheng had been saving it as a souvenir, but considering he could later have San Huamao help make more, he decided to give it away.
The Sphinx sniffed warily at the dried fish, then stuck out its tongue and rolled it into its mouth.
He nodded in satisfaction, after all, a Sphinx is a kind of cat.
"Tastes alright. Got any more?"
it asked, after gulping it down in a few bites.
"That was the last. If I get more and visit the clinic again, I’ll bring some for you,"
Liu Zheng said.
"Oh."
The Sphinx closed its eyes again.
"Let’s go, first to the apartment, then to ’Sunshine’ Pet Store,"
he got into the car and told the driver.
"Roger that."
The driver started the engine, and the Ferrari roared off.
The Sphinx opened its eyes again, watching the speeding car, lost in thought.
First he went to the apartment to pick up the super bomb Nightingale talked about, and a few minutes later, the car stopped in front of the "Sunshine" Pet Store.
The storefront wasn’t large, roughly the size of a mid-sized pet shop in the real world.
The employee inside brightened up at the sight of the parked Ferrari, poised to open the door and greet the guest.
But upon seeing Liu Zheng with the delivery box getting out of the car, the employee’s excitement cooled.
Liu Zheng pushed open the door to the pet store, and a series of cages came into view.
Each one contained a naked human being; most were teenagers, and a few appeared to be in their thirties.
The cages were meant for large dogs, which meant other than for children, these people could only curl up inside.
Some mimicked the posture of cats and dogs, while others hugged their knees and huddled in a corner.
Each cage held two bowls, one filled with pet food and the other with water.
However, there were no pee pads or cat litter boxes; evidently, human waste smelled too strong to conceal.
As they heard movement, most of the pet people lifted their heads to look.
Upon seeing a human, all the pet people showed expressions of joy.
Some began to show off their bodies, while others made strange sounds at him.
They were not human language, nor the cries of birds or beasts, but sounds Liu Zheng had never heard before.
Yet he knew that these pet people were expressing submission, acting coquettishly, and soliciting mating.
Liu Zheng averted his gaze and checked the time on his phone.
He had 30 minutes left to deliver.
Good, there was still time to play with these folks.
He looked at the employees and a cold smile crept onto his lips.
