Chapter 374: True love

We get to the house and I can tell he is nervous. I know why this will be worrisome for him, I mean, he is basically going to be telling his link that he needs a break. I know it is not about her and more about, himself but I know it is not something that is easy to understand. I don’t know how I would feel if beau said something like that to me. I know that it will break my heart but I just hope that Drucilla will understand him right now.

"You got this,’’ I encourage him because that is all I can do right now. He needs someone in his corner and I understand him. I think this is the best solution for how he is feeling. it is pretty early and this is going to be hard on the whole family but it will be alright.

the door to the house opens and Dru walks out, in a pair of shorts and a tank top. she walks over to the car and the expression on her face has me worried for her. I mean, I am sure that she can sense that something is wrong.

"I don’t know if I can tell her alone. I need you there with me.’’ he breathes out, his voice shaking. I don’t know if this is the best thing. he needs to talk to her alone and then we can talk to the rest of the house together. I just don’t want him to have this conversation with someone looming over their heads.

"This is something you need to do on your own," I tell him calmly, even though Belis looks terrified. I have never seen him this terrified in all my life of knowing him. in fact, to me, he was the bravest out of all of us. Eligio was the smart one, Darrien is the ruthless one and Belis is the brave one.

But I guess everyone has their moments. he is battling something right now and I need him to fight this head-on, like he usually does.

"Dru will understand. just tell her how you feel. tell her what is going on in your head. Can you do that?’’

he sighs loudly and then runs his hands through his hair. Dru is still outside, so I walk out of the car first and to her.

"Is he okay?’’ she asks.

I nod "Yeah he is. he is about to tell you some things, I need you to be open-minded about it and not too harsh.’’

Her eyes move to him and at that moment, he opens the car door and gets down. I give him one last smile of encouragement and leave them to it. I walk into the house and Eligio is in the kitchen, with a glass of blood in his grip. he raises a brow, probably surprised to see me here. "Seeing you today again. someone wants back in,’’ he jokes.

"There is something going on with Belis. did you know?’’

he sighs "Belis has been acting like a jerk to everyone. don’t worry, he will get over it.’’

"What if he doesn’t?’’

He creases his brows in confusion "What do you mean?’’

"He wants to die.’’ I tell Eligio because he is the first person I usually come to when something happens.

"Oh. That cant be right.’’

I tell him our whole conversation, I tell him about last night and he listens as I tell him that our brother is depressed.

"Does he plan on leaving Dru all alone?’’

I shrug "I don’t know. he wants a couple of years to breathe. I think it is not a bad idea. maybe he can cool off and then come back to us.’’

the door opens and Dru walks into the house "I am not leaving him,’’ she grabs my arm and there are tears in her eyes.

Belis walks in "I am not leaving you, I just need a break. please don’t make this more than it really is.’’

I wanted this conversation to be between them but I have messed things up. Now they are airing their dirty laundry in front of us "You want to go on a sleep state for god knows how long without me. it is unfair. how can you just choose to leave me?’’ her eyes bore into him.

He runs his hands through his hair in frustration. I watch the scene because I don’t want to interrupt them. this is a conversation that they need to have and I don’t want to be that guy that tries to explain what doesn’t affect me.

"I am not leaving you belis. I want to do right by you. I want to be better for you. You cried to my brother thinking that I was rejecting you. I need to figure shit out and then come back to you, better.’’

he is making a lot of sense right now but she is not listening to it. "I am not letting you disappear. I am coming with you.’’

He frowns "I cant ask you to do that. I need you to stop thinking about things this way. I will be back, I just need a couple of years.’’ he creis. my heart aches for Dru right now. a couple of years without beau sounds like torture to me. I could never do that.

"I am coming with you. I will take this break with you. there is no convincing me otherwise." her tone is firm, almost like there is no convincing her. this is the definition of true love. she is being selfless right now for the one she loves. would do the same thing in a heartbeat. I cannot live a life without Beau. I will follow him to the ends of the earth.

"This is not what you want. you cant do this."

she walks over to him and grabs his hands in hers "I love you. I cannot live without you. please don’t ask me to.’’

He leans forward and now i feel like i am interrupting as they press their lips together.

A smile sprawls to my face because even though I won’t see Belis for a couple of years. i know he is going to come back stronger and happier.

That is all that matters.
