Chapter 366: Get to the bottom of this

I walk back to the room and Belis is seated on the bed. all the scratches seem to have healed except one on his neck. It is healing a lot slower than I thought it would "What the fuck happened?’’ he manages, standing up from the bed. his white shirt is covered in blood, from the whole fight. I wouldn’t even call it a fight. Beau basically attacked him.

"What the fuck happened?’’ he touches the bite mark on his neck and I start to worry. I know what Beau’s bites do to vampires. I remember what it did do Cassius but he was in full form, unlike the form he took when he bit Cassius, the fact that he is not fully healed right now is worrisome.

"Beau freaked out but you can’t blame him, you basically went crazy.’’

He rolls his eyes and walks over to the door that leads to the bathroom "You were butting your nose where it doesn’t belong.’’ I follow him into the bathroom.

"What did he do to me?’’ he points to the bite. My heart races for the fear of what I think. I don’t want this to be a problem but the fact that he isn’t fully healed might mean there is something wrong.

"You will heal,’’ I try to brush off my fears and act like the worry that I feel is nonexistent. He turns away from the mirror and to me "I need new clothes; can you get me some?’’ he asks.

I sigh "Will you stay here tonight?’’

He shakes his head "Why would I?’’

"I need to have a conversation with you. can we do that?’’

"Why do I need to spend the night to have that conversation? Say whatever you want to and be done with it.’’

He takes off his shirt and I see that there are no bite marks on his body. so far, there is no problem. As long as the one on the neck heals, everything will be fine. I want him to spend the night because I want to monitor it. I need to make sure he is okay before I send him home.

"Get the clothes,’’ he orders me coldly. Belis is obviously going through some things and I don’t even know what else to do. I don’t know how to talk to him in a way that he will want to open up to me.

"Okay, I will be back,’’ I walk out of the room and in the direction of mine. the minute I open the door, Beau walks out of the bathroom completely naked.

"Is he okay?’’ he asks immediately, the concern evident on his face.

I shake my head "Not really, the bite on his neck isn’t healing.’’

I walk over to the drawer and pull out a clean pair of sweatpants and a plain t-shirt "what do you mean?’’ he asks me, grabbing a towel and covering up.

"Don’t worry yet. I want to monitor him overnight. Make sure he is okay before he leaves.’’

He frowns "He should have healed by now. fuck, did I mess things up?’’ he runs his hands through his hair, already panicking. I don’t want him to panic even when there is a cause for alarm.

"Hey, there is no problem, he will heal. You weren’t in beast mode. This is not a Cassius situation.’’

I know what he is thinking. I thought the same thing when I first saw him but Belis is not the first person that Beau has attacked and he will be fine. I am so sure of it "How sure are you?’’ he covers his face with his hands already beating himself up for this.

"Look, I am going to give him blood and I am sure that will help him heal faster. don’t worry please,’’ I grab his hands and he looks at me, his eyes are still red.

I manage a faint smile "Everything will be alright.’’

I can understand why he is worried but I don’t even want to gather any negative energy around me. just thinking about the potential problems could make those problems happen and that is not what I want.

I know he will heal.

"Okay,’’ he says finally.

My smile widens as I kiss his cheek softly "Just put on some clothes and wait for me in bed. can you do that?"

He nods immediately. I leave the room and grab a bag of blood from the kitchen. Belis is seated on the bed with only his underwear as I walk over to him "It’s gone,’’ I manage, noticing that the bite is no longer there.

He touches the mark and nods "I guess."

I give him the clothes and watch him as he puts them on immediately "What is going on Belis, you know you can talk to me.’’ I push for the answers that I wanted when I asked to speak to him earlier. He looks at me, but there is no interest in this conversation. Just because I am happy, in a relationship with Beau doesn’t mean that everyone else is the same. I don’t know what happened between him and Drusilla, so I can’t really judge him based on her words. she thinks he is rejecting her but I don’t think that Belis would do that to her. something else must be wrong and she just doesn’t know it yet.

"I can? Since when?’’ he raises a brow in question.

I sigh. He seems to have forgotten that he was the one that I was the closest too when father first turned me. Belis was like the older brother that I always wanted and talking to him was easy. If he could treat me the same way right now, I would be content.

"I spoke to Dru,’’ I ignore his sass.

He sighs and then runs his fingers through his hair "Dru has no business talking to you about our business.’’

"I need to go home,’’ he adds.

"She said you rejected her?’’

He stops walking before he gets to the door and turns around. The look on his face has me so sure that, this is not what happened. There is something else and I am going to find out.
