Chapter 252: The Devil and Little ginger
No matter what she chose it was going to be a win for him. Cedric feeding her with his mouth was going to be super embarrassing, especially in front of the maids.
She definitely didn’t want to have that monstrosity between his legs anywhere near her or inside her, although she was still a bit heated from the bath. Her sore legs could not move an inch earlier pressed together. ’ stop having slutty thoughts, Abrielle. Remember, he is the big bad devil with wicked horns.’ she reminded herself, trying to picture this devilishly gorgeous man as an ugly devil.
Abrielle closed her eyes and then drew in a deep breath before slowly parting her lips. Cedric brought the spoon to her mouth which she accepted under duress
"Good girl," he praised, pressing a smug kiss against her temple. She scoffed at him, the sweet taste of the pancakes was worth the humiliation. She chewed carefully with a scowl on her face pretending to hate it.
"It tastes awful," she sneered, lying through her teeth. "I can fix that," Cedric said, tilting her face to gaze at him. A cheesy smile on his face. Abrielle’s heart exploded. She had to flee, his heart could not handle it.
If he continued this way, she might end up falling for him, tying her to this plot. She didn’t want that, so please, he should be gentle with her heart. Those were all her wishful thinking before she melted completely under his lips.
Why hasn’t she learnt that Cedric was toying with her? He could read through her false persona and play with it. His mouth tasted like strawberry. The kiss was tender and a bit sweet. Cedric enjoyed the sweetness of her lips before his tongue sneakily entered her mouth, exploring to find her rebellious tongue.
He was right the pancakes did taste better this way. Abrielle leaned in subconsciously, returning the kiss; she wasn’t fighting against it. It was like Cedric had broken her every resolve against him.
Abrielle was scared of Cedric not just because he was a devil but because of how he was slowly breaking her resolve. He was getting under her skin. A slow moan left her lips, Abrielle’s eyes shot out, and she froze, realizing what she was doing. Out of instinct, she shoved him away.
Cedric was startled by the swing in her mood. She bowed her head, cursing herself in her mind. "Is anything wrong?"’ Cedric asked, his finger rubbing her cheek, leaving subtle sparks at his touch.
His actions were tender, and no one could imagine this side of Cedric. The maids looked ready to explode. Evelyn, though still composed, subtly glanced away, as if giving them privacy.
She was dumbfounded at her master’s behaviour. Even the cold tyrant has a beating heart. It felt like she was looking at someone unimaginable.
She was concerned for her master. Evelyn was aware of the fact Cedric agreed to the marriage with Abrielle to secure his ties with the Nightshade family and the temple. That was why he didn’t get rid of her after finding out she had hired assassins.
It was purely a marriage of convenience but it didn’t seem that way again. Her greater fear was that it seemed he was the one who might have fallen first. She silently prayed to the goddess on his behalf.
"It’s nothing; I prefer the spoon," Abrielle replied, her voice barely a whisper. She could not believe she moaned while he was kissing her in front of the maids.
Cedric sensed something was off, but he chose not to push her anymore. Abrielle obediently sat on his thighs while he was feeding her. The maids assisted in serving the meal while some left to arrange the room that was in complete chaos.
"I can’t take another bite," Abrielle said, feeling stuffed and sleepy. Now her stomach was filled, her brain wanted to shut down.
"Okay, let me get you back to bed," Cedric said, dropping the fork on the table. "Are you not going to eat? You have a duel later." She asked Cedric who had barely taken more than 3 bites.
"I am not hungry at the moment." He replied, a cute frown made its way in between her brows. "How are you going to fight with an empty stomach?" She asked him. The chair screeched against the floor as he stood up. Abrielle had a glimpse of the garden underneath the balcony.
"It makes me glad that you are concerned about me. Abby." He said. Cedric officially had two nicknames for her. Little Ginger and Abby, he had no idea Abrielle calls him the devil.
"Forget I said a thing," she pouted, under the gaze of the maids, Cedric carried her into the bedroom that was already organized. The sheets had been changed, too; the maid obviously knew what happened here.
Cedric dropped her on the bed, her body sinking into the sheets. "Try to relax for the day, I will be back before dusk. If you need anything, Evelyn will be at your aid. She is strong enough to get you out of the bed if your soreness doesn’t stop." Cedric explained, then he helped her tuck the sheets before he placed a kiss on his forehead, leaving subtle sparks.
He got off the bed, his eyes glanced at the maids giving a silent instruction then they immediately left the room on Evelyn’s instructions. Cedric walked up to the wardrobe. Abrielle’s eyes followed him until she realized he was about to get changed, and she averted her eyes quickly.
He didn’t spend much time when he was changed into his official attire. As expected, it was all black but with silver designs, "I will be leaving now; Evelyn is at the door waiting." He informed her, adjusting his sword on his waist.
She didn’t answer; Cedric walked up to the door, and then her voice called. "Cedric," are said softly. He glanced over his shoulders, "Is there anything the problem?" He asked.
The words she wanted to say were stuck in her throat. "Nothing," she said, snuggling under the covers. Cedric sighed, then left the room, closing the door behind him. She wanted to say good luck, but she doubted he needed it.
What was wrong with her? Abrielle’s eyes were on the side drawer where a single red rose stood in a jar. The rose from yesterday.
