Chapter 247: Kiss of Forgiveness

When Annalise finally walked out of the room, she found all three of the dark lords standing right there in front of her with worry and anxiety decorating their handsome faces.

"I..."

Before she could have spoken more than a single word, she was pulled into a strong pair of warm arms as Damien hugged her tightly. Within seconds, Kenric joined them too as he moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"Do you have any idea how worried we have been about you all this time? How can you do this to us, Little Bird?" Kenric didn’t waste any time before he started complaining once they finally pulled apart.

Annalise looked at the third dark lord as she spoke, "But I did leave you a message. Why would you still worry? See, I’m back safely."

The look on Kenric’s face made her smile disappear and she hurriedly shifted her gaze to Damien only to see a similar expression on his face. "What is it?" She asked as their serious expressions started making her feel slightly worried.

"Do you really not know?" Damien asked as he studied her face closely as if to see whether she was being sincere about her confusion or was just joking around.

"Know what?" Now Annalise was beyond worried, her husbands’ expressions and confusing words were making her anxious.

It seemed like Damien was about to speak but then stopped abruptly at the very last moment when a hand suddenly took hold of Annalise’s arm and before she could have realized what was happening, she got teleported away from there.

A second or two later, she appeared in a room that she immediately recognized, it was Valerius’ bed-chamber in the basement. She turned to face the first dark lord who had teleported her away from the other two lords.

"What is it, Valerius? What’s going on?" She asked as she noticed the almost cold expressions on Valerius’ face, one that left her surprised slightly as she had never been on tge receiving end of his anger, not like she had witnessed him actually getting angry at anyone.

"Two days."

"Huh?"

She was totally clueless about what he wanted to say with those two specific words, so she just stared at him in confusion. To her surprise, Valerius took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes, his expression almost made it seem like he was almost on the verge of losing his calm.

When he finally opened his eyes again, his icy-blue eyes were staring right at her as he spoke, "You have been gone for two entire damn days, Annalise! We can’t enter that room! Our connections with you were completely lost and we could do nothing but wait here while worrying about your safety!"

Two days!

Annalise had no clue that it had been that long since she entered the secret city. If she had known, she would have returned the very second she became conscious. Despite her not sharing all the secrets with her husbands, she never wanted them to worry about her.

"It wasn’t intentional. I didn’t realize that it was that long because it barely felt like just a couple of hours inside there. I’m really sorry that I made you all worry." She apologized sincerely as she looked at Valerius who seemed to be struggling with his emotions.

The first dark lord once again closed his eyes and turned his head to face sideways as if looking at her was painting him. When he spoke next, his words were barely audible but Annalise still heard them loud and clear thanks to her enhanced hearing, "What am I going to do with you?"

She contemplated what to say or do to help him relax, she didn’t like seeing him so worked up like this, especially when she was the reason behind it. Ultimately, she found herself taking a step toward him. Realizing what her soul yearned to do at the moment, she hurriedly closed the distance between them and wrapped her hands around her man, burying herself in his embrace.

She felt one of his hand immediately coming to rest against the small of her back almost instinctively but he didn’t pull her into a hug just like he always used to do. Instead of feeling defeated, she only tightened her arms around him and buried her face into his chest, inhaling his familiar scent that immediately soothed her.

"I think I’m ready to finally tell you all about the secrets of this manor that I have find out this past month. Also, my trip to that room proved fruitful as I now have leads on our Portal Hall incidents."

She waited to hear his response but once again the man remained completely silent. She was also silent for a while as she tried to think of a way to get her husband’s forgiveness.

She slowly pulled her hands away from his waist only to snake it over his shoulders and lock them on his nape. "Please don’t be mad anymore. Please, Valerius." She tried to make the cutest and most innocent face ever as she looked up at him. And though his eyes were still closed, she knew that she had his full attention.

"Valerius..." She almost rocked them from side to side as she tried to melt her husband’s iced heart. "Forgive me once more... please... mmph!"

The words got snatched from her mouth when her lips suddenly got sealed in a deep kiss. Valerius showed her no mercy as he placed his hand on her nape to angle her face as he kissed her fiercely. His mouth moved mercilessly against hers, and his tongue slipped past her parted lips to invade the inside of her mouth like never before.

The kiss lasted for a long while and by the time he finally let go of her, Annalise was completely out of breath with her lips swollen and her face flushed with warmth.

"I’m gonna take it as if you have finally forgiven me."
