Chapter 213: Training Plans
"You seem too lost," Damien stated as he walked down the couple of steps and headed straight to the bed where Annalise was sitting with her gaze fixed on the night sky visible from the open window. She really enjoyed gazing at the moon and the stars every chance she got.
Annalise turned her attention toward her husband as a bright smile bloomed on her lips as soon as her gaze landed on him. Despite being the holder of shadow magic, he only made her feel positive and bright.
"Have you ever wondered exactly how beautiful the Seelie Realm was? Exactly how powerful the light faes were, especially the Light Fae Queen?" She found herself asking him tge question that had been swirling through her mind ever since her meeting with Pristine during the noon.
Damien took a seat next to her on the bed before he responded, "Why are you wondering about such things all of a sudden?" He didn’t sound confused, nor was there any judgment in his tone, only curiosity.
A deep sigh escaped Annalise’s lips as she answered, "I just can’t keep myself from wondering about various things. Everything happening around me is making me wonder if I’m too slow for this fast pacing world. I hardly catch up with one thing only to find that there are already several other matters waiting for me. This is getting kind of tiring."
Damien didn’t respond immediately but she felt him scooting closer to her before one of his arms went to wrap around her waist. "I wanted to talk about this matter with you... actually, all three of us wanted to talk about it for a while." He was clearly talking about himself and the other two dark lords.
Annalise turned her attention toward her husband at his chosen words, wondering what exactly he wanted to talk about with her.
"These days, all of us kept feeling that you are keeping a lot of things in your heart... matters or situations that are actually burdening you from inside. Of course, you are doing a great job of keeping your emotions hidden from us by putting up those powerful walls between our bonds but we can still feel it." He admitted as he took hold of one of her hands in his free one before continuing.
"We are not only your husbands, Princess, we are also your soulmates. You can try hiding things from us but our souls can still feel every time you are suffering... just like right now."
Annalise looked straight into Damien’s eyes and saw pure worry reflecting from his beautiful orbs as he gazed back at her. "I won’t deny that there are indeed things that have rocked my entire world at the moment. You are aware of some of those while there are others that I haven’t shared with anyone... but this time, I want to take care of things on my own... unless I fail to do it."
Considering how poorly she had been performing the task of taking care of her so-called worries, Damien shouldn’t have trusted in her confidence at all but the man wasn’t fully aware of the situation and he wanted to give her a chance despite his worries and protectiveness toward her.
"Fine." The second dark lord finally spoke before removing his hand from around her waist only to take hold of her other hand as he continued, "But I’m not as patient as Valerius or Kenric. I can only give you a month at the most but if you failed in getting your things in order by then, I won’t stay out of your business then. Because at the end of the day, your safety and health matter the most to me, Princess."
He wasn’t making a request, instead, he was clearly warning her to get everything settled within the coming month or she won’t get the chance to settle them in her way because he won’t let her.
Still, she nodded her head in both understanding and agreement with his terms. One month was more than enough for her to settle everything, not because she was determined that all her matters could easily be solved within the given time frame but because she couldn’t let things stretch on for so long.
She watched as Damien’s shoulders relaxed once he noticed her consent to his suggestion and his shoulders loosened slightly. "There’s one more thing that I needed to talk about." He stated once he was sure that the first matter was successfully been taken care of.
Annalise looked at him with arched eyebrows as she waited for him to reveal what was the other thing that he wanted to discuss.
Damien took a deep breath before he turned his full attention to her and spoke, "The three of us brothers have come to a conclusion recently... you need to start training."
"Training?" Annalise repeated after him with the addition of her questioning tone as she stared at him in confusion.
Damien nodded his head as if to say that she heard him just perfectly. "Yes, training. You will start training with all three of us... individually." He stopped for a second or two to let his words settle in before continuing, "I will train you in physical combat, Kenric will be responsible for teaching you about weapons, and Valerius will train you with spells. To not put too much pressure on you, we will only have one class each once a week."
"That... Why... but why all of a sudden?" Annalise was lost for words as she realized just how bad things were suddenly turning out to be. Out of all the three training segments that Damien just mentioned, she only liked the one with Valerius because spells were something she was actually interested in, as for physical combat and weaponry - not so much.
"It’s not sudden, we have been actually thinking about it for a long while but now there’s not much time left to waste, so you need to get started immediately," Damien responded in a firm voice, the look on his face stating just how futile it was for Annalise to even think about negotiating.
