Chapter 166: His Grace

"Master, what’s your next plan? It seems like the Dark Lords of the Cursed Castle are forming a team to investigate the attacks on the Portal Halls. Do we need to do something to stop them?" The man who appeared to be the guard of the highest rank in the Death Valley raised tge question in front of the man sitting on the high throne.

The man on the throne remained silent for a while and only spoke after several long minutes had passed, "No one needs to do anything about them. Just lay low for the time being after all the attention that you all have pulled toward the Portal Hall attacks. Leave now."

His voice was filled with the commanding power that made the guard bow his head in greeting before he disappeared from the cave room, leaving the man in the hood all alone with the darkness that resided there.

A strong wind suddenly blew across the room before it disappeared just as soon as it had appeared. The man with the hood stood up from his throne and walked down the steps before coming to stand in the center of the room while his gaze was fixed in a particular direction from behind the hood.

All of a sudden, another person appeared there out of thin air with black smoke surrounding him from head to toe. Little by little, the smoke started disappearing to the point there was only a person standing in long black robes that hid him completely from prying eyes.

The temperature of the cave room suddenly went down to the point that it became unbearably chilly and the air was suddenly filled with a complete sense of darkness that took away any ounce of light that could have existed there.

The newcomer not only reeked of the chilly darkness but also of the ancient power that made his identity even more uncommon and mysterious. Whoever he was, surely wasn’t someone to be taken lightly.

"Your Grace!" The master greeted the newcomer while kneeling on the hard and cold ground, and bowing his head. If one could see beneath the cloak that he was wearing, they could have noticed how he was trembling slightly because of the cold and also... the person who just made an appearance.

"Remember what you just told your man... lay low for the time being and keep preparing for the future. Don’t end up doing anything that will create problems for our big plan." The newcomer reminded the master, his voice coming out just as dark as the shadow surrounding him.

"Your Grace...?" The master dared to speak up when he noticed the newcomer was already ready to leave, "...are you heading somewhere?" There was no knowing what sort of results his boldness would have gifted him with but thankfully, it seemed like it was a good day for him as the newcomer just answered simply - "I haven’t left the Death Valleys for centuries and I’m tired of this place. I’m going out to have some fun."

The man didn’t wait even for a second to let the master process his words before he teleported away to a new destination. At that time, even he was unaware of the future that awaited him... and the rest of the world.

Annalise found herself coming out of the world of sweet dreams. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and it took her a couple of seconds to adjust them to the darkness that was surrounding her. Thankfully, she had her enhanced eyesight for help.

The first thing that she noticed was the fact that she was sandwiched between two muscular naked bodies, or half naked as they both were still wearing their trousers, and that she was feeling too hot not only because of the two men who were cocooning her but also because of Kenric’s fire element that seemed to be densely filling the room.

She remained still for a couple of long moments as she tried to think of a way to get out of bed and between her two husbands without waking them. One of Kenric’s arms was wrapped around her waist while she was literally plastered against Damien, there was hardly any way to get away unnoticed.

’There’s still a few hours left before morning, why are you not sleeping then?’ Damien’s soft voice infiltrated her thoughts as he talked to her through their shared mind link.

She slowly turned her head to look at his face in the dim light coming from a couple of candles burning in one of the far corners of the room and found that he hadn’t opened his eyes yet.

’It’s too hot here. I want to go out and get some cold air.’ She replied through the mind link as she kept her gaze fixed on his beautiful face. Even though the bed was mostly surrounded by dark was that is to the heavy curtains surrounding it, her enhanced eyesight still succeeded in noticing his beautiful eyelashes and soft lips.

’You want me to come with you?’ He asked as he tightened his arms around her and pulled her closer to him if that was even possible in the first place considering they were almost pressed together.

’It’s alright, I’ll be back after checking on him.’ Annalise didn’t try to hide what she had in her mind as there was no need for her to keep something like that from Damien. If she really wanted her weird but beautiful relationship with the dark lords to work like any other normal married relationship, then she needed to make it as transparent and equal as possible.

A barely noticeable stretch appeared on Damien’s lips as he snuggled his face closer before placing a sweet and fluttery kiss on her forehead. ’Then let me help you.’ He said through the mind link before his shadow surrounded her and she felt the world around her shifting.

When everything returned to normal a couple of seconds later, Annalise found herself standing right outside the library.
