Chapter 66: I don’t think you’ll get a sleep tonight
Magnus slowly got out of bed after planting a soft kiss on Alora’s forehead. He exited the bedroom, closing the door behind him. As he came downstairs, his eyes fell upon Izaak, who was present in the living room, drinking the blood from the supplies that Tobias had left for him.
"You don’t look well. Did Alora’s family refuse to keep her with them?" Izaak questioned his brother, who had finally taken the seat.
"Norman isn’t a good father. He always hated Alora and still does," Magnus said in annoyance and picked up the glass filled with blood from the table. As he took a few sips, he further said, "I couldn’t kill them since Alora loves them."
Izaak amusedly gazed at him. "I never thought you would become so weak in love," he remarked.
"I am surprised at myself," Magnus admitted. "The day Alora’s affection for those people ends, I will not let them live either," he blurted out, sounding so desperate to kill them.
"What about Alora’s mother?" Izaak questioned him.
"She is the only sane woman among them," Magnus replied.
"I wonder why Alora never burned all of them, except for her mother. At some point, we do get frustrated. Don’t you think, Magnus? You and I would have not to think twice before taking such a step," Izaak stated and lowered the cup.
"You are right, Brother," Magnus said.
"What about your blood thirst? You look calm to me when you should be looking for the fresh blood from the humans," Izaak proclaimed with curiousness flashing in his eyes.
"It is Alora’s eyes magic. My thirst has disappeared since the last night," Magnus answered.
"Pardon?" Izaak was puzzled by such a response from his brother. "Can you elaborate?" he questioned.
"Her eyes can control us," Magnus stated in the simplified words. "I think Alora failed to control the power of her eyes when she was young. Also, everyone decided to neglect or stay away from her. Her eyes can do a lot more than we can even imagine," he explained to his eldest brother.
"I do think she can look at everyone’s eyes. Only those are burned, who have ill feelings toward her or maybe who want her to die," said Izaak. He tapped his finger on the rim of the wine cup he had held.
"I have the same thoughts. However, Alora doesn’t wish to look at anyone, excluding me," Magnus stated and drank further from the cup he had held.
"How will you find the divine figure, who can answer all of your questions? Also, did you recall the time when you met Alora?" Izaak inquired him.
"No. I’ve not recalled anything related to that. Let the blood moon day pass, then I’ll go to the place, which Gloria had mentioned," Magnus opined. "Gabriel has come to me yesterday. Alora was targeted by someone to be killed that night. A rogue werewolf was hired for it," he told the matter to Izaak.
"Who did it?" Izaak questioned.
"It is unknown," Magnus replied.
"What about his face?"
"The man had hidden his face from the mask," Magnus replied.
"Poor, Alora! She has so many enemies when she is such a kind woman," Izaak commented. When he noticed a frown on his face, Izaak quickly said, "I was always her friend."
"I doubt you," Magnus stated and brought the cup to his mouth.

Alora turned left and spread her arm out only to feel that Magnus wasn’t beside her. She shot open her eyes and looked around the bedroom, which was covered in darkness. Rubbing her eyes, Alora wondered if Magnus went outside and quickly got off the bed. She wore the cloak around her and left the bedroom to look for him.
However, her feet halted to see Magnus sitting alone in the living room under the dim lights of the candles.
He turned his head as Alora’s blood scent reached his nostrils. "Why are you here?" Magnus left his seat while keeping the hold on the cup.
Alora leaped the last stair and walked to him. Without uttering a single word to him, Alora hugged him tightly. "I thought His Highness left to hunt," she murmured.
Magnus tenderly stroked her hair. "I was here only, drinking for some time," he whispered.
She withdrew from the hug while he hung his arm around her shoulder. Placing the cup on the table, he told Alora that they should head back.
Upon reaching their bedroom, Alora removed her cloak and hung it on the hanger. "Can I open the window? I feel hot here," she asked.
"Of course!" Magnus permitted her.
Alora went to the window and pushed it open. The moment it opened, her eyes fell onto the moon, which was slightly red. "Magnus, look, how beautiful the moon is!" She exclaimed in happiness.
Magnus approached her and halted behind her. He never enjoyed the beauty of the moon. However, the way Alora would look at her and explain about it, made him look at it from a different angle.
Alora extended her hand out and made a circle with her thumb and index finger. She pivoted to Magnus and told him to look at the moon through the circle she made. "It looks tiny and it feels that I can reach it," she murmured with her white-teeth smile.
Magnus held her hand and lowered it. His other hand cradled her neck while his thumb brushed her cheek gently. The next second, he lifted her up, resting his hands on her hips and locking her legs behind his torso.
"I don’t think you’ll get a sleep tonight," Magnus whispered against her lips.
Alora’s eyelashes fluttered, and her heart drummed against her chest. "What do you mean?" she questioned naively.
"You’ll know soon," Magnus said.
He kissed her passionately, sending a surge of electricity through her mind and body, leaving her instantly breathless. With deliberate, unhurried steps, he made his way to the bed, where he gently laid Alora down. As he tore off his shirt, Alora’s eyes widened in surprise.
"Why did you do that?" Alora asked, blinking rapidly.
"I didn’t have time to deal with each button," Magnus replied with a smirk, leaning in to capture her lips in another intense kiss. As their lips met in a fervent embrace, Alora felt her thoughts dissolve, her hands instinctively roaming over his cool, taut skin, but with hesitation.
He withdrew from the kiss, making them gasp for air. "Alora, I’m going to undress you fully," he whispered.
