Chapter 43: Not as humble as her elder sister

While Venus made Alora feel pathetic, Magnus made her feel at the top of the sky. The dance truly brought happiness to her. Her entire being was in bliss, filling her with ecstasy.

Their dance ended soon bringing applause from the guests present there. Alora couldn’t believe the people cheered for them, but it might be because of their royal status.

"No. They liked our dance. We stole the limelight," Magnus asserted. His fingers trailed her side face before tucking the few hair strands behind her ear. "You learn fast. I knew you were special since the moment I saw you," he whispered.

Alora smiled at him while having watery eyes. His thumbs ran over her eyes, causing them to flutter. "It’s the time for us to leave for the palace," he said.

"Yes," Alora agreed to him. Although, the words that Venus told her hadn’t completely left her mind, the warmth from Magnus overpowered her mind. She heard the people whispers finally, saying how beautiful she was. Such a compliment she never heard before.

"I should put on the blindfold," Alora said.

"I will help you." Magnus reached out to her eyes and gently tied the blindfold to her eyes. "I hate seeing you in this," he murmured.

They were finally back to their seats, where Izaak already awaited them.

"When did you learn to dance?" Izaak asked. "I thought you hated it," he stated. Alora was surprised to learn that.

"I hated the women who would ask me out to dance in the ball," Magnus replied.

"You kept all of us in the dark. So, when did you learn it?" Izaak queried.

"After meeting my wife," he promptly replied.

"Really? His Highness learned the dance for me," Alora felt blissful to hear that.

"Yes. I wanted to dance with you," Magnus answered. "I didn’t know we would get a chance today."

Norman and Rhea came to them once again to tell them the feast would start soon. "I have arranged blood for His Highnesses," Norman asserted, "with Chamberlain Tobias’ help."

"That wasn’t needed," Magnus remarked.

"We could not let the princes return without having anything in the wedding," Norman humbly opined.

"That’s good. I’ve been craving for blood here," Izaak suddenly remarked. His tongue traced his lips, showing his hunger.

Norman gulped to hear the eldest prince and told them they should follow them to the feast hall. Rhea was quick to help Alora stand up and took her ahead of them while the princes walked behind them, specifically with Norman.

"You dance so beautifully, Alora. Did Prince Magnus teach you? I was so delighted to see you smile with your heart," Rhea told her daughter.

"Prince Magnus is a great dancer. I only trusted him," she truthfully answered her mother.

Rhea wanted to ask her why she cried earlier, but she felt she should ask it some other time. "How are the things between you and the prince? Have you two proceeded ahead in the marriage?" She queried.

"What does Mother mean by that?" Alora inquired.

"It’s my fault for not speaking with you about this. I’ll tell you once the wedding feast is over," Rhea replied and placed her free hand on her daughter’s head. "It makes me delighted to see you smile."

Shortly, they reached the hall, where many of the guests were already present. Venus was seated next to her husband. Seeing Alora, her mood was spoiled and it hurt her that Rhea was again with Alora, instead of her.

Once Alora sat down, Magnus sat on the chair next to her while Izaak sat next to his brother. Upon Norman’s instructions, the server served the blood to both the princes in the gold wine glasses.

"Your Highnesses, it’s a pleasure to see you both after a long time," Benedict greeted them. He along with his family seated beside the groom and bride. Rhea and Norman went to sit next to Venus.

"Indeed, it’s a long time," Izaak answered. "Congratulations on your son’s wedding," he said with a smile.

"Benedict, we heard the rumors about you and your family," Magnus suddenly interrupted their conversation. "We heard that you all turned into werewolves," he said without any hesitation.

Benedict stopped smiling immediately to hear him.

Alora, on the other hand, thought why Magnus said that. Everyone from her family looked shocked, except Venus since she believed that they were werewolves.

"My brother loves to joke sometimes. They are rumors for some reason, Prince Magnus," Izaak stated while glancing at him, gesturing to him not to do that.

"I don’t joke around. I am serious here," Magnus replied. He brought the cup close to his mouth and sipped the blood.

"They are just rumors, Your Highness," Benedict replied calmly.

"Great!" Magnus smiled at him, then turned his gaze to Venus, who was glaring at him fiercely. Despite the urge to take her eyes off those sockets, Magnus knew he had to maintain his composure for Alora’s sake.

"Venus, try to be good to your new family. You’ve never respected your elder sister. I hope you can let go of your jealousy. Just a piece of advice from someone much older than you," Magnus remarked, maintaining a pleasant demeanor.

Alora squeezed his hand and moved closer to him. "Please don’t," she urged softly.

"What is Prince Magnus saying?" Madam Aubrey intervened, trying to handle the situation. "Venus is such a graceful woman. She has always been good to the others. There’s no point of jealousy at all," she asserted.

"She is not as humble as her elder sister. Earlier, she glared at me and even said a few terrible things to Princess Alora. Such people deserve punishment, but my Alora is such a forgiving woman that she let it go," Magnus proclaimed. "We shall start eating. Alora is hungry and I don’t wish to keep her waiting," he pronounced, causing all of them to turn quiet.

Alora pulled her hand away when she heard Venus. "Shall I help my sister? She cannot see unlike us, so she needs assistance."

"I’m here to give her the assistance. Also, she has worn the blindfold to keep you all stress-free," Magnus affirmed. "Ahh, I think you are unaware of my abilities. I can read thoughts, so I know who is thinking wrong about Alora," he stated.

Venus gulped to hear that and she lowered her eyes immediately.

Izaak rolled his eyes because as usual, Magnus turned the entire fun atmosphere into a gloomy one without thinking it was a wedding feast.
