The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride -
Chapter 291: Meeting Elliot
Chapter 291: Meeting Elliot
Mrs. Cora Kline, the esteemed Head of the Vampire Academy, bowed respectfully as she entered the private lounge, acknowledging the presence of the princes and the princess. Rising gracefully, she met their gazes when Izaak invited her to sit.
"The princes did not inform us of their arrival," Cora stated calmly, settling into her chair with her hands neatly folded on her lap. Her composed demeanor and authoritative presence embodied the qualities of a true academy head.
"We were unaware of our visit until this morning," Izaak explained. "Princess Alora wishes to see her brother, Elliot Wilson. We would appreciate it if Mrs. Kline could send someone to fetch Elliot," he conveyed, revealing the purpose of their unannounced visit.
Mrs. Cora Kline promptly agreed, giving a brief nod to her assistant, who quickly departed to carry out the task. Turning her attention back to her distinguished guests, she asked, "Would the princes care for something to drink?"
"No, thank you," they replied in unison.
"And you, Princess Alora? Would you like some water?" she inquired politely.
"No, I’m fine. Thank you," Alora responded with a polite smile.
"Did you all come here just to meet Elliot?" Cora asked, her curiosity piqued by the unusual visit.
"No," Magnus replied firmly. "We had important business here."
"And what was that?" Cora inquired, her curiosity deepening.
"We were here for a meeting with Qasima," Magnus stated, causing a flicker of apprehension to cross Cora’s otherwise stoic expression.
"I’ve heard about the recent occurrences involving humans. Qasima has been targeting them. What did she say in the meeting?" Cora asked further, her voice tinged with concern.
"She had numerous demands before we finally managed to bring an end to her schemes," Magnus replied, casting a proud glance at his wife. "Alora saved everyone by vanquishing the evil witch," he asserted, his voice filled with admiration for Alora’s bravery.
Cora’s eyes brightened at the news, reflecting her admiration. It was no wonder Alora was revered as a great woman in the kingdom. "That’s wonderful to hear!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine delight.
"Mrs. Kline, how is my brother doing? I’ve heard that he has made significant progress," Alora inquired, her tone filled with both curiosity and affection.
"Yes, Your Highness," Cora replied with a warm smile. "Elliot has learned a great deal in a short time. His dedication and growth have been remarkable," she asserted proudly.
Just then, the doorknob turned, and Elliot walked in accompanied by Cora’s assistant. Alora immediately rose from her seat, her smile widening as she rushed to greet her brother. The joy in her eyes was unmistakable as she embraced him.
Magnus swiftly moved to Alora’s side, gently but firmly pulling her back.
"You can’t hug him, Alora. He hasn’t attained full control yet," Magnus cautioned, his voice filled with concern and authority. Elliot, too, understood the need for caution and maintained a respectful distance between them.
Cora, sensing the need for privacy, gracefully rose from her seat. "I will take my leave to give you some privacy for your conversation," she said, excusing herself and leaving the room quietly along with her assistant.
"Elliot, you look so different. It seems you’ve grown a lot," Alora stated with a smile, her eyes filled with pride. "Have you been working out? I can see the change in you," she remarked, taking in his more muscular physique.
"Yes, I’ve been working on my body," Elliot replied, his voice steady. "It helps me keep control of my thirst. Keeps my mind off the blood, at least," he added, clenching his fists hard as if to reinforce his resolve.
Suddenly, Elliot’s eyes narrowed, and he frowned as he spotted a bandage on Alora’s right hand. "What happened to your hand?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. "I heard that you were injured. But you look fine," he said, feeling quite happy.
"Ah, this," Alora said, lowering her eyes for a brief moment. "I got injured," she replied, not wanting to tell him how she had cut her hand while confronting Qasima the previous day.
Elliot’s nostrils flared slightly as he caught the scent of blood. His eyes blinked rapidly, and a look of hunger flickered across his face.
Sensing the rising tension, Magnus quickly stepped between them, placing a firm hand on Elliot’s shoulder. Their eyes and Magnus controlled his hunger. Elliot felt better than before while Alora tilted her head to the left to look at her brother.
"Are you feeling unwell because of me?" Alora asked softly, her brow furrowed with concern.
Elliot hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering briefly towards Magnus before he replied, "No, Alora. It’s not because of you." Despite his attempt to reassure her, a trace of unease lingered in his voice.
Magnus respectfully stepped aside, giving them space to talk. Alora took a deep breath, her expression softening as she changed the subject. "How is everyone at home?" she asked gently, trying to lighten the mood.
"All is well at home. Don’t worry," Elliot replied, a faint smile touching his lips. "Just focus on yourself. We miss you, especially Mother. But we all know you’ll return soon," he added, his voice tinged with longing and hope.
"That’s good to hear," Alora said warmly, giving him a comforting smile.
Elliot glanced back at Magnus briefly before turning his attention back to Alora. "I heard that a witch is lurking around. Is it true, Your Highness?" he inquired, his curiosity evident.
"Yes, but there’s nothing to worry about now. The witch met her end," Magnus reassured him, pride evident in his voice. He went on to recount how Alora bravely confronted and defeated the witch, detailing her courageous actions.
"That was wonderful. But you need to be cautious while fighting someone like Qasima," Elliot said, his voice tinged with concern as he glanced at his sister, his eyes reflecting both admiration and worry.
Alora nodded solemnly. "Yes, I understand," she replied, her tone determined yet touched by Elliot’s protective gesture.
"So, are you all heading back today?" Elliot asked, his gaze shifting between Alora, Magnus, and the princes.
"Yes," Magnus confirmed with a reassuring nod.
"Have a safe journey ahead," Elliot said humbly, his expression sincere as he addressed them.
Alora’s eyes softened as she looked at her brother. "Tell our parents not to worry about me, Elliot. I’m doing well here. Everyone takes good care of me," she assured him, her voice filled with warmth and reassurance.
"I will," Alora added softly, unable to resist the urge to hug him once more. The embrace was brief but heartfelt, conveying their deep sibling bond. "Take care of yourself, Elliot," she said affectionately.
Elliot returned her hug gently, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yes, I will. And you, too, take care of yourself," he replied, his voice filled with affection and a hint of pride for his sister.
"Elliot, I’ll meet you outside," Magnus said, motioning for Elliot to follow him. Alora watched them leave, waving at Elliot with a mixture of fondness and concern.
Once they were outside, Magnus and Elliot walked side by side along the quiet corridor.
"No one is causing you trouble here, right?" Magnus asked, his voice low but earnest.
Elliot’s smile widened slightly. "No one would dare to do that," he replied confidently, his demeanor reflecting the reassurance.
Magnus paused, his steps slowing as he gently placed a hand on Elliot’s shoulder, prompting him to stop as well. "Elliot," Magnus began softly, his tone carrying a mix of caution and sincerity, "you know I have the ability to delve into minds, to see memories. I’ve noticed something."
