Chapter 161: The Slave Market
Chapter 161: The Slave Market
"Prince Izaak, why don’t you get a slave for yourself?" asked Nikitin as he sipped the wine. "A human slave specifically. She can even fulfill your needs," he added with a smirk.
"And how do you know my needs, Nikitin?" Izaak questioned, bringing the cup close to his mouth.
"Your Highness will get a constant blood supply from a human. And he can even ask her to please you," Nikitin stated.
"Since when did you join this slave market?" Izaak inquired, furrowing his brows and gulping the wine at the same time.
"I’ve been a part of it for a year now," answered Nikitin.
"Unfortunately, I left that path long ago. I’m not longer interested in taking any slave to my bed," Izaak replied, telling Nikitin that he should also leave such a community, where human slaves were sold and bought.
"But that’s what humans should do for us," Nikitin commented.
"I wish I had the same thoughts as you. But I’m no longer interested in such practices. My sister-in-law is a human and with her company, I realized they shouldn’t be treated badly," Izaak stated, passing a tiny smile to him.
Nikitin amusedly glanced at the prince. "Why does it seem Princess Alora has her effect on everyone here? I wonder what kind of magic Her Highness has done with the entire royal family," he murmured.
"If you start knowing my sister-in-law, your views may change. Also, don’t anger my brother. He can read minds," Izaak advised and set the cup on the table.
"I understand," Nikitin stated. "I learned from my elder brother that the vampires, who attacked all of you, were not from here. This is what Prince Magnus thinks. So, is it true?" he questioned.
"That’s a speculation for now. When we had a fight with them, they indeed didn’t appear to be of this kingdom," Izaak confirmed on his end.
"That’s troublesome. Our borders have been peaceful for such a long time. I don’t wish to see any battle starting," Nikitin remarked.
"Well, that won’t happen. Perhaps some group of vampires want to create ruckus. Everything will be cleared only after a proper investigation," Izaak said, becoming a bit serious.
"It’s already late. You should go back," Izaak opined.
Nikitin hummed and rose to his feet. He bowed to Izaak and told him if he would be interested in having a human slave, then he could ask him any time.
"I won’t need it," Izaak stated.
After Nikitin left, Izaak decided to go out to breathe some air. Sitting in the carriage, he asked the coachman to head to the slave market.
"Slave market?" The coachman’s eyes widened. But he was quick to comply with the Prince’s order. "I understand," he said and closed the door from the outside.
As the wheels of the carriage rolled out of the palace, Izaak leaned back on his seat while keeping his focus outside the carriage. Suddenly, the rain started pouring and the droplets covered the window soon from outside. The carriage moved slower than its usual speed, but it reached outside the slave market.
The coachman opened the door for Izaak, holding an umbrella for him. As the prince stepped out and took the umbrella from him, his nostrils filled with the fragrance of human blood.
"Your Highness, are you going to buy a slave?" The coachman inquired while covering his head from the hood of the raincoat.
"No," Izaak refused and told him to wait for him.
As Izaak made his way to the narrow route, he spotted some of the vampires coming from the front with their respective slaves. He lowered the umbrella, not wanting them to show his face, and halted for a moment. After those vampires walked past him, he went ahead.
After walking some hundreds of meters, Izaak stopped in front of a large building and ascended the steps to reach its entrance. A guard on the door rushed to him and took the umbrella from him, closing it.
Izaak walked in and the scene which unfolded before him wasn’t pleasant at all. The female humans were being exploited by the vampires mostly the noble ones.
"Seems like they have started this trade of female humans again." A voice reached Izaak’s ear and he turned to check. He was astonished to see Magnus.
"Shouldn’t you be with your wife? What are you doing at past midnight here?" Izaak inquired him.
"I was reported about it in the day. So, I had made a plan to check this place at past midnight," Magnus replied.
"Why didn’t you share it with me then?" Izaak inquired.
"I thought the Eldest Prince knows, but isn’t willing to do anything since he does not like to anger the noble vampires," Magnus asserted. "They sell young human girls after abducting them. It’s a network built by both humans and vampires. This is the only section, where they work in such a harmony," Magnus affirmed. "But how did Brother Izaak find out about this place?"
"Nikitin informed me earlier, so I decided to check what’s special about it. I have no idea the human girls are treated in such a way here," Izaak replied, gazing at his brother.
"Time to close this slave market, Brother Izaak. You hold the power to do so," Magnus asserted.
Since they both were standing in one corner, no one could see them, but they could observe everything from their places.
"Did you register in your memory the noble vampires who are present here?" Izaak inquired.
"Yes. Will you punish them all?" Magnus questioned amusedly. He was happy that finally, his brother was doing some right things by taking his position seriously.
"I should," Izaak answered.
Suddenly a human appeared in front of them and hid behind both the brothers.
"Please save me," the young woman requested to Izaak, not knowing they were the princes.
The owner of the slave house stopped in front of the princes. First, he was unable to recognize them but when his assistant told them they were the princes, he promptly lowered his head.
"Your Highnesses, how may I assist you?" The owner asked.
"By giving your life," Magnus replied with a stern tone.
