The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride -
Chapter 131: You’ve the prettiest eyes I ever saw
Chapter 131: You’ve the prettiest eyes I ever saw
The vampires who went berserk had even injured some vampire guardians, who tried stopping them. Izaak had taken the lead in handling the matter as Alaric and Magnus joined him. The other stronger vampires too helped them.
King Esmond frowned to see the out-of-controlled vampires. He never witnessed such a sight in such a long time. The last time it happened was during a war. What was exactly happening?
Magnus had already made some of them calm while Izaak and Alaric knocked them down.
"Your Majesty, what’s all this happening? It seems our own kind want to kill us," Queen Margaret whispered near his ear, seeing the unpleasant scene before her.
Alora arrived with Griffin, her gaze fixed on the ground. Her heart raced as she observed the vampires’ swift movements, finding it challenging to keep up with the scene.
"Magnus! Watch your back!" Alora exclaimed in concern, her voice carrying louder than intended, drawing the attention of those around her.
As the eyes turned towards her, Alora felt a wave of self-consciousness wash over her.
"Alora, you must leave," King Esmond instructed, signaling to his Queen to escort her away. He feared that a human would be a vulnerable target amidst the chaos.
, a berserk vampire charged toward Alora. Instinctively, she met its gaze, her body tensed up in the process as she realized the vampire would now burn alive upon making eye contact. Clutching her gown tightly, she braced herself for the imminent confrontation.
"Alora!" Magnus shouted from the other side, pushing away the vampire from his sight to run to his wife.
Alora’s eyes blazed with bright gold, emitting a dazzling glare that momentarily blinded those nearby, causing them to stagger in disorientation.
And the next second, the vampire was perished into ashes. Alora trembled in fear as she staggered this time. Magnus supported her from behind, placing his hand on her shoulder.
Alora thought it was a hope for her to prove to them that she was harmless, but it turned out to be something else. She ended up giving proof to the King that her eyes could only perish and nothing more.
Izaak witnessed that and furrowed his brows together since he knew it was an end for Alora since the King himself witnessed the power of her eyes. Now, no matter what Stella told Alora, she would be forced to wear the blindfold.
"Agh!" Izaak let out a whimper as a stake was pierced right through his heart, but it wasn’t a normal stake. The same stake that was used on Magnus during their return. His insides suddenly turned numb.
Magnus ran forward to save his brother, followed by his father, who wished to save his son when the vampire went behind Izaak, revealing himself to everyone present there.
"Damien!" Magnus exclaimed and frowned.
"Izaak may die anytime, so if you wish me not to rip apart his heart with this stake, then listen to my every command," Damien pronounced with a smirk across his lips.
"Damien, don’t do that. Leave Izaak," King Esmond said with a request.
"Remove the crown from your head and I’ll do that," Damien affirmed.
Magnus looked at his father, wondering what he would do.
Izaak’s labored breath showed how vulnerable his body had turned. He was on the brink of getting unconscious, but Izaak stood his ground. He didn’t wish his father to lower himself in front of Damien and let the Kingdom be destroyed in his hands. A blood bath would occur if Damien succeeded today.
"Magnus, congratulations on marrying the most unique woman in the world. She is pretty no doubt but her eyes are the only problem for me. I think after I kill you, I’ll take Alora with me," said Damien, "but I need to do something about her eyes."
"Watch your tongue, Damien. It will take me seconds to take it out," Magnus said, clenching his fists.
"But where is Alora? I cannot spot her around?" Damien asked, wandering his gaze to the ground.
"Cut to the chase. Wh-what do you want?" Izaak asked, fighting with the poison that already spread in his body.
"I want to be the King. My dream was always that," Damien said with a smirk.
Magnus ended up reading Izaak’s thoughts, who spoke in his mind to him. However, he was unsure if Izaak would be able to make it. Would he be able to reach Alora because the opposite couldn’t happen?
But there was one way and the same way Izaak thought in his mind so that Magnus would hear him.
"You don’t love your own son. Then, I shall take Izaak’s heart out right in front of your eyes," Damien pronounced with a broad grin. He came to Izaak’s front and said, "Close your eyes because I’ll put you to rest now."
"No!" Queen Margaret fainted right there, but a few of the ladies caught her from falling to the ground.
’Now, Magnus. Bring Alora,’ Izaak said in his mind.
In only one second they had to change the tides. The King had decided to sacrifice his son because he couldn’t leave the kingdom in Damien’s hands. He knew it was a wrong choice and he would always be hated for it, but he decided not to throw away his crown.
Magnus was quick to come to Alora’s side. She felt his hand on her shoulder while on the opposite side, Izaak used his remaining strength to push away Damien, who had grabbed his throat.
Magnus didn’t even have a second to explain to Alora anything. All he wanted Alora to use her strength this time. Cutting through the air, Magnus brought Alora right beside Izaak the moment he pushed Damien.
Damien couldn’t get time to react and he made eye contact with Alora’s eyes. Magnus and Izaak, followed by many others covered their eyes as her eyes shone with even brighter intensity this time.
Damien reached out his hand to kill Alora, and he succeeded in making a contact with her neck.
Although Damien grabbed Alora by her neck, but it was useless. He finally got perished in the thin air.
Izaak fell to the ground, his veins popped out even on his forehead. Alora quickly got down in fear as Magnus and the others’ eyes were still blind because of the bright glare. Her body was reacting on her own, and she didn’t hesitate to pull out the stake from Izaak’s heart.
"Aghhhnn!!" Izaak cried out in agony as he finally drew a breath, relief flooding through him.
"Brother Izaak, are you alright?" In that, Alora forgot about her eyes and looked straight into Izaak’s eyes.
Magnus and the others reached out to Izaak now, but what they were surprised about was Alora talking to him while looking straight into his eyes.
Alora was still not aware of her situation, caressed Izaak’s chest as her fingers covered in his blood. This was the same vision that Izaak had seen a few weeks ago.
Her eyes were beautiful as deep as the ocean.
"You’ve prettiest eyes I ever saw," Izaak whispered. He closed his eyes as he needed rest while Magnus came by Alora’s side. "You did well. You saved him," Magnus commended, offering a gentle smile.
That was the moment when Alora realized she looked into Izaak’s eyes.
Esmond remained in a trance-like state, his mind reeling from witnessing Alora’s ability to gaze into Izaak’s eyes. The vision he had spoken about had indeed come true.
"Escort Prince Izaak to the chamber," King Esmond commanded. "And call the physician," he added. He gazed at Alora and decided to talk to her later.
Alaric came toward Magnus and Alora. "You were incredible tonight," he asserted. "Let’s see each other later." He rushed after Izaak, who was being taken away for the treatment.
Alora and Magnus finally got up as they headed to their chamber. After Alora had her hands cleaned, she sat on the chaise while Magnus took a seat beside her.
"I looked into Brother Izaak’s eyes," Alora said.
"Yes, you did," Magnus smiled as he held her hands. "Your eyes saved him today. Damien died. I still couldn’t believe he died this way," he murmured. Magnus always wanted to punish Damien once he would get caught, but he had never imagined that it would happen in such a way.
"It would not have happened if Prince Magnus hadn’t acted swiftly," Alora asserted. "Can I really look into everyone’s eyes then?" she queried.
"Yes, I believe," Magnus answered.
"We should go and check on Brother Izaak," Alora advised him, rising to her feet. Magnus hummed and they both headed to Izaak’s chamber.
Izaak was already fed the antidote and he was much better than before. Because he got an instant treatment unlike Magnus’s case, he was healing at a faster rate.
Queen Margaret sat beside Izaak, urging him not to leave the bed until he had fully healed. "Your Majesty, didn’t Damien die long ago? How did he suddenly appear like this? And to enter the palace without anyone’s notice..." she voiced her frustration, casting a glance at her husband.
"An investigation will take place," King Esmond declared. "For now, let Izaak rest. We should depart," he added, turning around only to find Magnus and Alora entering the room.
"I thought you would not visit me, Magnus," Izaak said with a tiny smile across his lips. He gazed at Alora, who didn’t have her gaze on him.
"Father, Mother, it was our plan to take Alora’s help in such a situation. She should be praised for what she did today, no? Also, Alora can look directly at Brother Izaak too, which means everyone with no sense of killing her, can look at her directly," Magnus explained to his parents, stressing his last word.
"Yes, we witnessed that," Margaret rose from her seat and approached Alora. Taking her hands, she expressed her gratitude towards her. Then, she enveloped Alora in a heartfelt hug, conveying her appreciation for saving her son’s life. As Margaret gently patted Alora’s back, a warmth filled Alora’s heart, leaving her feeling deeply content and happy.
As she pulled away, she asked Alora to look at her. Alora being hesitant at first, finally gazed into the eyes of the Queen. She was truly nervous, but it slowly faded away.
"Magnus, you were right. Alora is indeed pretty," Margaret said as she turned at the others, telling them they should also be able to look at her.
Alora took a deep breath in as she looked at all of them one by one. At this moment, she couldn’t express how joyful she was feeling. Now, all she wanted was to look at her mother.
King Esmond smiled at Alora and said, "I take back my words. I apologize to you for what I said in the court. I hope you forgive me." He glanced at Magnus for a brief moment before shifting his gaze back to Alora.
"You saved my eldest son’s life today. What do you want, Alora? I’ll give you whatever you desire for," Esmond offered her a reward of her choice.
"I am thankful for all of you for embracing me finally. I am grateful for the King for offering me a reward. I would like to join the Vampire Council," Alora pronounced, expressing her wish. "Not because I want to establish my authority, but I want to mingle with every vampire to get a better understanding," she asserted.
"I guess Magnus finally wants to return to the council," Esmond stated, gazing at him.
"Yes if Alora joins," Magnus replied.
"She can be a part of the council. I have nothing against Alora," Esmond granted her entry in the council as a reward.
Alora smiled as she thanked the King for allowing it. "It would not be possible if Prince Magnus and Prince Izaak hadn’t helped me," she stated, looking at two of them.
