Chapter 66. Mana Domain

Chapter 66: 66. Mana Domain

Valtharion’s voice was a low growl. "Now I see why they want you dead. You are really the Ruler’s Prophecy."

He lunged, a blur of shadow and steel, his mangled hand no weakness. His greatsword sliced through the air, shadows trailing like hissing snakes. Leo vanished in a blue flash, pure speed, his spear screaming with lightning as it stabbed at Valtharion’s ribs.

CLANG!

The demon twisted, blocking with his blade, runes glowing bright. The clash sent a shockwave that shattered rocks, Valtharion’s arm shaking.

Leo became a storm, blinking in and out—behind, above, below—each spear strike a thunderclap, lightning exploding in wild, blue arcs, lighting the glade like a firework show.

[Time remaining: 130s]

Valtharion roared, the sound shaking the ground, gripping his greatsword with both hands. He swung upward, a huge slash that sent a wave of shadow mana ripping into the sky, splitting clouds of ash. Leo jumped back, the attack tearing a deep crack in the earth.

He flipped mid-air, throwing his spear like a lightning bolt, its trail blazing bright, then vanished, appearing behind.

Valtharion, eyes wild. Block this, bastard! he thought. But a giant shadow hand burst from the ground, grabbing the spear mid-flight, its purple eyes glowing with rage.

Two shadow wraiths crawled from the earth, one holding the spear, the other charging Leo. Its claws tore into his chest, ripping his shirt, blood spraying. Leo roared, pain fueling him, he raised his hand which summoned from item space, and swung his hunting knife, slamming it into the wraith’s head with a gross crunch.

Lightning poured through the spear, blue bolts the second wraith flinched, dropping the spear. Leo grabbed it, thrusting into the wraith’s chest, lightning blasting it to mist.

[Time remaining: 70s]

Then.

Valtharion appeared above, wounds gone, armor shining like new, his greatsword raised like an executioner’s blade. Leo rolled back, heart racing, as the sword slammed down, splitting the ground.

Leo jammed his spear into the dirt, unleashing a huge lightning shockwave. Blue arcs burned the air, cracking the earth, forcing Valtharion to leap back.

Leo shot forward, a streak of electric fire, spear flashing like a storm. He aimed for Valtharion’s joints, knees, elbows, neck,. The demon’s greatsword spun, blocking most hits, but Leo’s speed was crazy, unstoppable. A thrust cracked Valtharion’s thigh armor, black blood leaking.

Another slashed his helm, leaving a scorched mark, sparks flying. Valtharion roared, swinging a wide slash, smashing through ground. Leo ducked, the strike wrecking a rock spire behind him, and stabbed at Valtharion’s chest.

CRACK!

The armor broke, a deep cut spilling blood.

[Time remaining: 60s]

"You’re slowing down, Pride!" Leo taunted, vanishing in a blue flash, reappearing above, spear diving for Valtharion’s shoulder with a lightning scream. The demon blocked, but the force pushed him back.

Leo landed, spinning his spear, and attacked like a hurricane—stabs, slashes, each hit a bolt of electric fury, faster, fiercer, the glade a mess of fire, shadow, and sparks. One strike smashed Valtharion’s pauldron, armor pieces flying.

Valtharion’s roars grew raw, angry, his purple eyes burning with rage.

[Time remaining: 30s]

Leo’s breath was heavy, chest bleeding, but his grin was wild. He threw his spear at Valtharion’s chest, lightning trailing like a star. The demon knocked it aside, sparks bursting, but Leo was already there, closing in, his voltsteel glove crackling.

He slammed it into Valtharion’s cracked chest.

BOOM!

A huge lightning blast shook the glade, throwing Valtharion back, his armor breaking, his body crashing through a stone spire, dust everywhere.

Leo caught his spear, crouching, ready to end it.

[Time remaining: 0s]

"Damn it!" he cursed, diving for his katana, its blade shining in the ash.

Valtharion stood, armor wrecked, black blood pooling, slamming his giant sword into the ground. His purple eyes burned, pride unbroken, a dark fire inside.

"You... impressed me," he rasped, voice shaking the air. "Witness true Pride."

"Mana Domain: Sovereign Eclipse."

A thick shadow fog swallowed the glade, blinding Leo. When it cleared, the world was gone. He stood in a dark, twisted realm—Valtharion’s mana domain, the Dominion of Pride.

Mana domain is a high ranking technique that creates separate space only used by few in the world, in mana domain, the user will have a massive boost of their strengths while the opponent will be weakened.

The sky filled with black clouds, split by purple lightning that lit up a barren wasteland. Floating stone pillars twisted through the air. The ground pulsed with dark energy, glowing with veins of violet light.

Far off, a huge, broken throne loomed, its sharp edges burning with purple glow like lava.

Valtharion charged, his greatsword slashing in a vicious arc,Allora: Valtharion lunged, his greatsword slashing in a brutal arc, shadows trailing like angry snakes. Leo raised his katana, barely blocking, the hit shaking his bones. Valtharion’s strength was too much, and Leo’s arms gave way.

The demon grabbed Leo’s leg and slammed him into the ground.

The impact cracked the floor, pain ripping through the body. Valtharion kept going, smashing Leo down again and again, each crash a loud boom, blood spraying, bones creaking. With a final roar, he threw Leo across the domain. Leo skidded, crashing into a floating pillar, stone breaking around him.

Shadows wraiths rose from the ground endlessly, their purple eyes glowing. They swarmed Leo, claws and teeth tearing his skin, blood pouring.

They piled on, burying him in darkness. Valtharion turned, thinking it was over. But a huge BOOM of lightning exploded from the pile, blue sparks blasting the wraiths into ash.

[Healing Protocol Initiated (1/3)]

Valtharion spun, eyes narrowing, but Leo was already in the air, katana raised, fire mana blazing as he swung down hard.

The demon was faster, his greatsword stabbing up, piercing Leo’s stomach with a sickening crunch. Blood gushed, Leo’s body going numb, his katana falling. Valtharion swung, throwing Leo off the blade like a broken toy.

Leo hit the ground, sliding in a bloody streak, pain drowning him, blood pooling.

Valtharion’s voice shook the domain, cold and mocking. "You... the Ruler’s Prophecy? I’m disappointed." His purple eyes burned.

"I expected more from the one meant to stop the disaster. You die now."

[Only one healing left]
[Stamina level critical!]
[Mana level critical!]
[Even if you healed now, Reo, you can’t fight!]

Leo’s lips curled into a weak, bloody smile, his voice a hoarse whisper. "You know... I used to not fear death. Lost everything. Death was nothing."

His shaking hand grabbed the silver chain around his neck, pulling it free. A ring glinted, and he slid it onto his finger, eyes fierce but far away.

[Are you sure you want to use Emergency Adrenaline Surge?]

[The recoil will be heavy.]

[You will die if you fail.]

Leo forced himself up, the gaping wound on his chest closing, his torn shirt falling away, showing a scarred, strong body. He ripped off the rest, standing tall.

"Now... I’m scared of death," he said, voice firm, crimson eyes burning. "I found her again. I wanna meet her, apologize, live with her. I’ll do anything to stay alive."

"Even if I have to kill everyone in this world."
