“There’s no need to deny it,” Mr. Lai raised his hand. “Only you know what you truly think; we don’t. Also, another important thing to note is that you are both vile and foolish.”

“You underestimate Zhong Nianyao and overestimate yourself, which is why you think such acts would remain unnoticed. Our Lai family would never stand against Zhong Nianyao for your sake because–”
