“You mean the part about the families meeting,” Lu Yichen raised an eyebrow, “We’re officially dating now, so isn’t meeting at this point quite normal? Or are you saying–”

“How could that be? I’m not that kind of person.”

“Alright, it’s getting late, you should go,” she said, her voice shy.

Hearing Zhong Niangyao’s coy tone, Lu Yichen chuckled softly, then reached out to pat her hair, “Alright, go inside first! I’ll leave after you’ve entered.”

After hearing Lu Yichen’s words, Zhong Niangyao didn’t say anything more and turned to walk back into the house. However, her somewhat erratic steps indicated her inner shyness.

Watching Zhong Niangyao’s somewhat frantic pace, Lu Yichen chuckled quietly, but made no sound. He thought that if he really laughed out loud, Zhong Niangyao would probably become angry. Then, they would likely have days of being at odds, which would just be hard on him.

But watching Zhong Niangyao act this way still made him happy, as it showed she cared about him in her heart.

Zhong Niangyao felt her cheeks were a bit hot until she entered the house, only then her racing heartbeat returned to normal.

“Congratulations!” a voice suddenly rang out.

Zhong Niangyao wasn’t startled; she looked up to see Zhong Mengfan standing not far from her, her gaze slightly narrowed, “Zhong Mengfan, it seems, having a child really can change someone. You’ve changed a lot!”

“Is that so?” Zhong Mengfan was slightly taken aback, then smiled, “I feel that the current me is pretty good. My parents and my brother, they all say I’ve become more sensible. Don’t you think the current me is pretty good?”

Zhong Niangyao’s lips curled up slightly, suddenly laughing out loud, “What I think doesn’t matter. What’s important is that you think this version of yourself is great, then that’s good enough.”

Zhong Mengfan smiled as well, “Of course, I think this version of myself is the best. If only I had realized this sooner.”
