Chapter 99: Not going to clarify

Liam couldn’t help but feel stupid. He thought she finally fell for him but it turns out he was wrong.

They arrived at the penthouse and the man once again opened the door for her, his face stone cold but the gentleness could be detected.

Right now, Jane was completely sure something had irked the man and it is something that happened in the restaurant. She couldn’t get what it was exactly but she had to confirm.

"Liam? You don’t seem to be okay, anything bothering you?"

The man looked at her for seconds before reverting his eyesight.

"Nothing much, just some work related issues I have just remembered."

He replied, trying to avoid her line of sight but it was completely evident that he was lying.

Since they were in the private lot of the building, they were alone and the privacy here was top notch.

Jane looked at him with her eyebrow raised, ’ Does he really think am a kid?’ She inwardly asked herself and without warning, she exchanged their places, pinning the man against the car.

Liam was utterly shocked but before he could say anything, the girl snaked her hand at the back of his neck and brought him lower to her level since he was a little tall.

She made sure he made eye contact with her as she smirked.

"So Mr, are going to tell me what the problem is or do I have to find that on my own?"

Her voice was suddenly low and if the man was not mistaken, it sounded seductive.

Liam looked at her but couldn’t even say a thing, he felt good being pinned against his own car but he wanted to be pinned and kissed...not being pinned to be questioned.

"Jane..I..."

She was so close that he couldn’t even process what he had in mind, her closeness was making him feel some serious fire burning inside but the girl did not seem to even care.

"Hehe.. Liam.. your brother seems to be poking me, tell me what is bothering you before you continue suffering... darling..."

Jane did not mind saying it loud as she looked at the man who seemed to be in shock.

He was just staring at her when she started laughing,

"Is it because I told you I love you earlier but didn’t bother clarifying?"

Liam nodded to her question, pain evident in his eyes that he did not bother concealing.

She took his hands and placed them on her waist. Still looking at him, she gave him a sincere smile, "I am not going to clarify either Liam, you are a smart man, you can easily figure it out."

She pecked him before detaching from him and leaving for the elevator.

Liam just stood in shock and looking at the empty space in his hands and her words ringing in his mind.

’Wait... so she meant it! But why doesn’t she want to tell me face to face without covering it?’

He stood thinking about her words as he smiled. His weeks of struggle and pursue were paying off...

The man walked happily towards the elevator but what the two did not realize is that they were about to hit the headline once again because of a certain ’paparazzi’ who was watching them from her car.

"Aaah! This love.. hehehe..."

Chloe laughed, trying to suppress her laughter before Liam noticed her car.

She arrived some minutes before Liam and Jane, she was obviously heading for her brother’s penthouse but before she could step out of the car, Liam’s car arrived and so she had to wind up her windows before she is realized.

She looked at the photos she just took and thought for a second before sending them to her mother and grandma.

Jane on the other hand arrived at her penthouse with a cute smile plastered on her face. Immediately she got in, she closed the door and leaned on it, lost in thoughts.

She held her wrist and looked at the watch Liam gifted her before.

She lightly caressed it as she whispered,

"You swept me off in weeks Liam but I have to wait for your birthday, my love is the best birthday gift I can give you..."

She smiled as she took off her shoes. The girl couldn’t help but laugh as she thought about the events earlier.

Jane really meant her words earlier but that’s not how she intended to express her feelings to Liam. She had to pretend that her words were directed to the desert.

In the past two weeks she has seen the man’s effort to win her and she couldn’t lie that she fell hard for him but didn’t want him to know yet..
