Chapter 98: I love you

"..Sorry about that.." He scratched his head as he went to open his car door for her.

Jane got into the car silently as her thoughts were on how she was about to get kissed.

Her cheeks had a little blush as she turned her head to look out the window but she forgot Liam could clearly read her expressions and the man, whose eyesight is ever sharp was able to notice the girl’s blush, praising himself inwardly for the supposed good job.

They arrived at a beautiful but luxurious hotel that was perfectly hidden from the city area.

Liam opened the car door for her and smiled widely as she got out.

This gave him couple vibes but he knew he must make it happen.

They got into the restaurant with the waiters and the manager bowing deeply at them as some waiters were giggling seeing the Liane couple.

Liam led her to their table and immediately, a line of waiters came with the meal and drinks.

The first waiter placed a whole plate of perfectly made lambchops and the other one placed a bowl full of roasted cabbage slaw with hazelnuts and lemon.

"Since I figured you loved lamb chops, I love feeding you that, explains why there is a full plate of lambchops."

Liam started explaining but realized he was speaking to himself. The girl before him was admiring the finely made lambchops.

He signalled the waiters to leave as he took her hands and cleaned them.

"Enjoy my queen."

Jane did not need to be told twice as she dug in but suddenly frowned.

Liam stopped what he was doing and gave her a questioning look.

"These chops are sweet but not as sweet as yours Liam." The girl said as she pouted her lips but did not stop chewing the one in her mouth.

Liam chuckled but he was inwardly dancing because of her praises. He couldn’t help but stare at her.

She is a top heiress but she is not pretentious at all. She eats with no pretense at all, something which made him like her a lot.

Jane was busy in her own world that she did not notice the gentle and loving look in his eyes.

They were done with the meal in minutes and a waiter came in with some desert after they cleaned their hands.

On the table was a plate of sticky toffee pudding with some vanilla on top.

"Mmmh..mmmh.. damn! This is so good Liam, I love you!" She shouted as she stood and gave him a peck

Liam who was smiling looking at her happy face froze when he heard the word ’I love you’ followed by a peck.

He thought he heard it wrong but couldn’t help convince himself that she really told him she loved him!

Before he could ask her what she meant, a spoon of the pudding appeared before him as the girl stared at him with hopeful eyes.

He opened his mouth, his eyes locked to hers and ate the pudding.

Jane happily pulled back and took out some small amount of the pudding and put it in her mouth, once again shocking Liam.

"She doesn’t mind us eating from the same spoon.. I knew I heard it right! She really loves me! I finally got my woman!"

His insides were dancing a very happy dance as he imagined having no restrictions with her, hugging her everytime, cuddling with her..

They finally finished their drinks and as Liam was paying, he couldn’t help but imagine the words he will use to express his happiness after they leave the restaurant.

When they were finally out of the restaurant, with Jane full, Liam pulled her in for a hug as he planted a kiss on her forehead,

"Thank you my love. Even though I didn’t see it coming, Thank you for loving me back, tha..."

He did not finish when Jane cut him off, "Liam? What are you talking about? Are you drunk?"

Liam stiffened hearing that and pulled back, looking at her,

"But earlier on you told me..you... never mind, I was just practising."

He stopped before he could complete the sentence when he realized Jane giving him a confused look.

’So it wasn’t for me... was it for the desert?’

The man couldn’t help but question inwardly as he opened the door for her with his heart squeezing him so bad.

Jane felt the air change and noticed the man’s expression changed but she didn’t pay much attention to it.

Throughout the whole ride, Liam did not say a thing or smile at her like he usually did making the girl feel assured that indeed something was amiss.

What she did not know is that her one statement made the man build thousands of castles only for her to destroy them all mercilessly. She did not know that she made Liam feel like the biggest fool and that he was currently in deep pain.
