Chapter 29: My woman

She slammed her penthouse door and released a heavy sigh she did not know she has been holding.

She knows she cannot continue crossing paths with Liam because the last thing she wants is another ’I love you’ lie. She is not prepared at all.

Jane shut her eyes as a single tear escaped her eyes. Just like any other girl, she dreamt of getting married to her loved one. She dreamt of making her wedding night special but her bubble got burst so fast. A man she had promised to love and Cherish and a man who promised to love and respect her unconditionally backed out even before they could step on the isle.

Indeed Love is nothing but trash to her. She is not new to love and knew the look Liam gave her earlier, he was attracted to her but she convinced herself to be irresistible to any man’s look, no matter how sincere it is because she will end up getting hurt anyway.

Liam was left staring at the door when Jane left. He remembered circling his hand around her thin waist and the vanilla scent that came from her body when he leaned closer. He had never felt any attraction to any woman but her pure beautiful emerald green eyes were pulling him in complety.

He agrees she has ogled at him and even checked him out but she has never dared to behave in a flirty manner before him. She held her head high always.

He is new to love but he knows the reaction his heart and body is having towards Jane is not something normal. He stared at his sofa where her hands touched minutes ago and placed his hands on the same exact place.

A rare, sincere smile broke on his face as he silently whispered, "Jane Lu, I am about to officially pursue you and make you my woman."

The woman in question was busy trying to keep her thoughts straight when her phone rang and she picked immediately she saw who the caller is, "Aunt Rebecca!! I miss you auntie, have you forgotten your Little Jane?"

Jane’s tone changed completely, acting like a spoilt kid. Rebecca on the other hand laughed loudly as she was sure her niece was pouting cutely as she spoke.

"I miss you too little Jane, I have been busy recently and am currently in country B. Please do me a favour my darling niece,

Lift the temporary ban you put on Anna. I want her to enjoy some little freedom before I crash her complety." Rebecca replied to her.

"As you wish Auntie, you know we are in this together. I do not feel like dealing with her this early." Jane replied in a lazy voice but her insides were dancing with joy... Hehehe... Anna Lu!

"By the way anutie, Mr Jonathan came to my office asking me to tell him where you stay after you sent him the divorce papers. I felt like kicking him when he dared raise his voice."

Rebecca stiffened when she heard about Jonathan and replied to her in a cold tone, "If he ever steps in your office again, feel free to throw him out with no mercy!" Her anger could be felt even through the phone.

Jane immediately realized her mistake when she felt the change in her aunt’s voice and changed the topic.

"Auntie don’t worry, come back soon and...."

Just like that, she changed the topic and they conversed more before bidding each other goodnight.

After the call Rebecca cried bitterly as she remembered her niece’s words. The man searched for her only because she sent him divorce papers and not because he misses her!

"Ha! Why am I even crying as if I expect him to act all good to me, he even cheated on me countless times! I was stupid to forgive you Jonathan but not ANYMORE!"

Thirst for revenge is all that could be seen on her eyes. She wants her revenge! She will make him pay! She will make Alice pay! She will make them all pay!

She wiped her tears and washed her face elegantly, a small smile plastered on her face. She is not Rebecca Huang if she cannot make them pay! With that, she slept with a satisfied smile on her face knowing everything is under her control.
