Chapter 197: Pinnacle Awards

The whole of country X was swimming in the news about the coming award show with different salons, spas and boutiques flooding with artists as people booked appointments for the big day.

The week went by super fast as the entertainment industry was preparing for the long awaited event that was to be held on a weekend where most people would be off work. During the entire week, different people had different thoughts and different tasks. For people like Mary, she got all the information she wanted and was only waiting to strike while people like Jane and Rose continued to pray that they fall pregnant.

Saturday came fast, the day when the awards ceremony was to take place. Immediately 6pm hit, celebrities started swarming into the venue which took place in the largest hall in the country. Different celebrities flocked in with the entry fully packed because of the fans who were there to support their favourite artists.

There was also a rumour going around that people like Liam, Jane, Ryan and even Chloe would be attending but none of them had been confirmed so they all just had to wait and see.

"Why are you so stubborn babe? You need alot of rest right now my love. Don’t you want to spend time with your man?" Ryan was having a hard time convincing his pregnant wife who wanted to attend an award ceremony that didn’t involve her and one that was going to tire her out for nothing.

Chloe’s pregnancy hormones were really acting up that she gave her man a really hard time but after alot of convincing and chocolate bribing, the pregnant woman finally relaxed as she munched her chocolate happily while scrolling through her phone. Ryan inwardly sighed as he headed for a shower. No one told him that handling a pregnant woman was this hard!

Back to the award venue, different celebrities were being interviewed when a car pulled up, attracting everyone’s attention. They all turned towards one direction as a perfectly dressed Edward came out of the car, his face emotionless as he put forward his hand for Anna who wore a bright smile on her face.

Immediately her fans saw her, they started screaming or rather chanting her name but other celebrities just rolled their eyes at her wondering why she was even here and while some voiced it out, others chose to keep quiet as the couple made their way to the red carpet.

For some reason, they felt as if Edward was acting indifferently towards Anna but they didn’t dare voice it out since the man was still influential in his own way. Just as the reporters were about to interview them, a limo pulled up and everyone knew the guests of honour of the pinnacle awards were finally here.

The door was opened by a bodyguard and the first one to come down was Liam but as he extended his hand, instead of Jane, Lisa’s hand landed on his and the man did not show any disgust on his face.

The artists, reporters and even fans wondered what was not happening and why Liam was appearing in public with another woman. No fan dared to shout as they all observed what was happening when Mark Mu came down next and as he placed his hand forward, Rose’s hand appeared as she elegantly came down from the Limo.

By now, most of them were able to understand what was happening and when Jordan came down together with Jane, fans started clapping as they cheered for their idols. The three pairs made their way to the red carpet and before they could get to the reporters, they exchanged partners, with everyone going back to their significant other.

The men smiled as they snaked their arms around their women in an affectionate manner, feeding everyone dog food without any care in the world.

Anna was inwardly dying of jealousy and Edward on the other hand was dying of guilt seeing Liam shower Jane with so much love and affection.

The man immediately looked away before dragging Anna to the award show after which Liam’s team followed behind and the moment their presence was known, the award show kicked off.

During the entire ceremony, Edward couldn’t help but kept on looking at Jane since she was sitted ahead of him due to her status. Both Rose and Jordan were able to collect more than enough awards making everybody realize that they indeed ruled the entertainment industry.

Even Lisa was able to get an award after being away for a while while Anna didn’t get anything, of course even after she used her body.

Nobody apart from Rose and her company knew this but of course the fact that she was a b list actress and not able to get a single award for herself was bound to be a hot topic immediately after this.

The Pinnacle Award was a transparent one, something everyone knew but this year, they decided to introduce an award to the best company in the industry and it was obvious JL had it all but they were all surprised when Rose and Jordan refused to take the award but instead forced Jane to head to the stage for her award.
