Chapter 158: Today is our day

Monday came so fast without anyone’s expection and as for Mary, she could have sworn she has never been this nervous before.

The girl had just gotten out of bed when it hit her that today was her wedding day, to someone who did not love her apparently.

She stood before her closet going through her clothes when her cell phone rang and without checking who the caller was, she picked it up only to hear a voice that almost made her wet.

"Good morning Wifey, I hope you had a beautiful night and that you are ready for today.." Ian’s deep morning voice sounded from the other end, making the girl stand rooted before his voice could once again bring her back to reality.

"Mary? Are you there?" Ian asked once he realized that there was no reply from the other end and this time round he got back a nervous reply but being Ian, he was able to figure out why she was reacting in such a manner, making him chuckle a little bit.

"Ohh hey there Ian.. Hehe..." Mary replied,seemingly not over the fact that this man had some fine ass morning voice.

"I am ready for today I guess, just a little bit nervous...see you at the bureau in like 2 hours." She said before immediately hanging up.

In his apartment, Ian stared at the phone for a while after she hang up and he couldn’t help but laugh lightly because he knew the exact reason for the girl’s reaction.

He put the phone down as got out of bed as he did some dances on his way to the kitchen because he was happy getting himself a good woman for a wife.

Back at the Lu residence Mary was busy staring at her phone after hanging up when it suddenly hit her that it was really Monday and she was supposed to be at work!

She immediately dialed Ryan’s number which was picked up within seconds and Ryan heard chuckling on the other end, "Yea Yea, I knew you would call but no worries cousin, I got you, someone is working in your place."

Mary immediately breathed a sigh of relief and because she did not want to spill anything, she immediately thanked Ryan and hung up the phone before proceeding to chose her desired cloth.

One and a half hours later, Mary appeared ready dressed in a beautiful off shoulder High low skater dress that was above her knees. She had light make up on and her hair was in a beautiful ponytail showing off her beautiful neck. She finished her look with a pair of medium silver hoop earrings and a pair of Louboutin heels.

she gave herself a final look on the mirror before finally picking her handbag and heading down stairs only to meet Ian once again talking to her grandparents and the Lu elders.

"Good morning everyone." She said as she bowed down to the elders who responded back, happiness evident in their voices.

She looked at Ian only to find the man’s eyesight rooted on her making her feel like the man was literally seeing her naked. She did not mind much and proceeded to seat next to him, bringing the man out of his world.

Ian was still in a daze because from the moment the girl was walking downstairs, he couldn’t tell whether that was Mary or if that was an angel because she looked gorgeous! Her long slender legs, her beautiful neck..she looked absolutely amazing!

"Woaah! Our boy is so smitten that he hasn’t said a word!" Grandma Lu spoke making the rest laugh as some blush formed on Mary’s cheeks while she nudged Ian who just looked at her smiling and for a moment, Mary was also lost in his smile but before they could forget they were not alone, she immediately focused and grabbed his hand leading him out.

"Bye everyone! We don’t want to be late for our date!" She shouted as she dragged the man along, leaving behind elders who were smiling and laughing endlessly.

"I don’t want to get caught just like yesterday, unlock the car." She ordered the man who not only unlocked the car but also opened the door for her, just like a real gentlman.

Once they were both inside the car, Ian drove off but immediately they left the Lu residence, he stopped the car earning a confused look from Mary.

"You looking beautiful and smart Mary." He faced her as he spoke but for reasons Mary couldn’t understand, his eyesight lingered for long around her neck but the look on his face was making her blush.

"You too, you are looking extra handsome.." She replied trying to avoid any eye contact but the guy was apparently faster. She did not realize when one of his hands grabbed her chin as he slowly inched closer. In seconds, their faces were inches apart and the man lay a sweet kiss on her forehead and as if it was a tradition, the girl shut her eyes to enjoy the short moment.

After a whole minute, Ian inched backwards only to realize that the girl was smiling.. she was actually smiling! "That was to remind you that you are pretty and that today is our day princess... "
