Chapter 126: Your death will be in my hands

Mrs Zhang watched as his car left the compound and she smiled as she headed to her room to change and follow her son.

In the hotel, Peter was sitted nervously waiting when the door to the private room was slightly opened and a woman peeped in.

After confirming she was in the right place, Nicole breathed a sigh of relief and got in.

She was in a beautiful denim trouser, a white top carefully tucked in and a denim jacket. Her designer belt and shoes finished her look as she had minimal make up and her hair tied into a beautiful bun with a few strands loose.

Peter stood up and smiled when he noticed that her way of dressing was complety similar to his. He smiled widely as he extended his hand for a greeting but he was shocked when the girl flinched.

"I am sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, please have a seat."

He spoke up and he watched the girl relax and give him an awkward smile. As a man, he knew what it meant for a woman to react in such a manner that is why he retracted his hand before things could get messy.

Nicole gave him a slight smile as she sat down. She observed the room for some time before her attention finally got back to Peter who was seriously looking at her.

"You seem to be afraid of something. I don’t have the right to know what it is.. at least not now but I assure you that I won’t harm you in any way."

He smiled at her as he spoke gently and for some reason, his gentle voice calmed the girl down and Peter could see the change and she relaxed herself.

"Do you usually do this to any girl you want to have a meal with? Bug them every single day?"

Nicole asked as she looked at the man before her.

Peter smiled as he answered her, "Will you believe me if I tell you that you are the first person I am doing this to?"

Nicole’s eyes widened but she shook her head,

"I don’t and if so, why me of all people?"

"You caught my attention Miss Nicole, I felt like wanting to get to know you better, I do not have friends and I want to have a friend like you and if things go smoothly, ahem, sorry for that.."

The man quickly pretended to clear his throat when he realized where exactly his thoughts were heading to and that he was saying them out loud.

Nicole smiled listening to him and she did not know what even made her smile.

"Well in that case, I am Nicole Hu..just Nicole."

She spoke back as she quickly corrected herself when she realized what she was about to say.

Peter smiled widely when he realized she was getting comfortable with him.

"Peter Zhang, at your service milady."

He stood up and bowed dramatically making the girl giggle but he froze listening to her giggle because he felt what people call butterflies and knowing he is the reason for that, his mood couldn’t get any better.

The two shared a little bit about themselves as the waiters brought in their lunch.

The two ate to their fill as Peter made sure to keep the atmosphere light after he accidentally asked about her family, (The Xis)

In between the meal, Nicole felt the urge to use the washroom but she did not know she was going to regreat stepping out of the room.

Immediately she stepped out, the door to the next room opened up and a man, holding a cigar came out, the two bumping into each other.

Nicole was quick to apologize but she immediately froze when she heard the man speak.

"Nicole baby..."

She looked up only to meet Derick staring at her, his eyes full of lust as they were roaming around her body.

"Y.. y.. you..!"

The girl tried speaking but her confidence was long gone that she couldn’t even move from where she was.

"You miss me so much? Surprised to see me? Are you perhaps ready for me baby girl?"

He spoke, his voice suddenly becoming hoarse as he starred at her body greedily.

Nicole was still rooted but when she felt someone touch her, she regained her senses and immediately threw a punch.

"You son of a b! If you ever lay your hands on me bastard, I swear I will hang you before the whole country and throw your balls to the vultures! Arrgh!"

Her punch was strong that the man staggered behind, almost falling.

He looked at her and smirked.

"You forgot who I am Nicole, I will F..."

He did not finish his statement when a strong slap landed on his cheek.

"Shut the Fuck up Derick Xi! I might have been traumatized by you, I might have had nightmares because of you and your cursed family but I will be foolish to become a weakling Derick, I promise you, I will make sure of this, your death will be in my hands."

She turned around only to bump into a hard surface, her eyes already flowing with tears. She looked up only to see Peter’s concerned face as his eyes clearly depicted worry and concern.
