Chapter 116: Worse than paupers

Chapter 116: Worse than paupers

Outside the room, Chloe stared at Mrs Lu, Ryan and Rose before speaking.

"Liam hates being unsure of anything. Even if you assure him a thousand times Ryan, as long as she is not awake, the man will have alot of hidden fears."

Mother Lu nodded in understanding. "So that is why he jolted up when I mentioned finding another man for my daughter..."

Jordan was about to speak but his face suddenly paled as he looked behind Mother Lu, Ryan and Rose. Chloe’s face was no better.

Rose wondered what was happening but before she could speak, a booming voice was heard, making all of them stiffen.

"So you all now have the guts to keep such a huge thing from me? My granddaughter is fighting for her life and you hide it from me?? From us?"

The three turned around but instead of meeting two elders, they met six instead.

Mother Lu gulped but she suddenly spotted her husband and Mr Yang hanging their heads down in a guilty manner.

"Traitors!"

She inwardly complained but did not dare complain openly.

"Uum.. dad, I do not regret keeping it from you,we wanted Jane to at least gain consciousness before informing you, otherwise you elders would have suffered a heart attack seeing her in her earlier condition."

Mother Lu spoke making the Lu elders sigh. They knew it! They knew they had a very stubborn daughter-in-law who was never afraid to tell them the truth, nor did she ever regret her decisions.

Jordan felt someone looking at him with what seemed like a look of evaluating him.

He tried looking past his grandpa only to see another old man staring deeply at him, evaluating him.

He tried reasoning where he saw a similar person but he couldn’t find him. Jordan did not know why but he felt a strong sense of pressure from the man’s look that he averted his gaze.

Grandpa Huang inwardly nodded in satisfaction but he was yet to test the young man perfectly.

"Our princess is now feeling better although she has not woken up. You may now go in, I have to make sure someone sleeps in the dog house today."

She continued, making the elders sigh once again and father Lu’s face turn pale hearing the word doghouse.

The Lu, Yang and Huang elders went past them as Mother Lu directed Ryan to follow them and explain things to them.

Father Yang was busy laughing at his friend but mother Lu’s next action shocked him.

The woman took out her phone and called mother Yang,

"Amelia, make sure your husband stays in the doghouse just like mine, these men snitched on us that the elders are even here, all of them!"

On the other end, Mother Yang responded, shouting intact,

"No way! Tell him that the doghouse is dearly waiting for him.. Ohh.. and no hugs and kisses until I decide he deserves them."

Father Yang dropped his mouth in shock listening to his wife on the other end.

Rose, Chloe and Jordan couldn’t help but burst in laughter looking at the two men who were standing frozen.

"H.. honey..dad forced me to spit it out...I..."

Mr Lu tried convincing his wife but it turned out useless because the woman was having none of it.

Inside the room, the elders got in, only to find Liam sleeping alongside Jane, shocking them to the core.

The grandmas were inwardly celebrating but tried keeping their cool, especially grandma Yang!

"Uum.. He doesn’t want to take a step away from her, so we let him sleep alongside her."

Ryan immediately explained when he noticed Grandpa Lu’s raised eyebrow.

The elders just pretended to nod but deep down they were super happy seeing Liam alongside Jane.

He proceeded to seriously explain how the girl was doing and what operations they carried out on because he knew if he dared lie, they were still going to find out the truth.

"Who caused the accident?"

This time round, grandma Lu’s dangerous voice resounded, almost waking up the sleeping Liam.

Ryan gulped before answering, "G.. grandma, it was caused by Nancy Wang..."

"WHAT!"

The Yang elders were shocked to the core hearing that that grandpa Yang spoke up,

"Tell my son I want that woman dea.."

He did not finish his statement when Ryan cut him off,

"She is already dead grandpa."

The man nodded in satisfaction but still that was not enough for him.

"I am not yet satisfied, tell him to make sure in the next 24 hours, The Wang Family in country X ceases to exist. Make them worse than paupers."

His voice was full of command that Ryan nodded immediately and left to relay the message.

Grandpa Lu turned towards him and was about to say something when he lifted his hand to stop him.

"No thank you old man, what are friends for or should I say.. what is family for.. I mean look at this, my boys are completely smitten by your granddaughters, all that is left is for Chloe to fall for Ryan."

The elders nodded as they chucked and proceeded to take a careful look at Jane.

"My poor girl looks so pale.. I have to go to the temple later."

Grandma Lu couldnt hold her tears looking at Jane’s complexion, different tubes on her face and body.

The three grandmothers observed the girl carefully, although they felt heartbroken, right now all they have left is to pray dearly for her health, for her to wake up soon.
