Chapter 86: two headed goblin

Chapter 86: two headed goblin

"I got you chief~" Karrie softly uttered, catching jack and placing him softly to the ground.

’You’ve outdone yourself as always.’ A light smile formed on her lips. She could sense the fatigue looming on jack, along with the injuries he sustained.

His muscles were stiff as a rock, bulging from the constant trials of battle.

"There’s still two more." Looking, she could see their numbers decreasing fast against the two ogres.

Though the ogre’s were giants giving them a slight height advantage, they barely did any damage with these equipments. And their numbers were rapidly decreasing, unable to keep up with these ogre’s speed.

"We have to retreat!" Karrie yelled over to Yuma, handling an ogre with some goblins.

"What! Are you crazy? the king will be mad, he boldly instructed-"

"Shut up!" Karrie yelled, appearing besides Yuma and landing a hot slap across her face.

"What the hell was that for!? "Yuma angrily retorded clutching her cheeks, feeling the impact of Karrie’s hit.

’For a fox woman how the hell is she this strong?’

"Look, I know you want to impress the chief and be on his good side." Pausing a bit she stared down, startling Yuma a bit.

"And hopefully get under his pants-"

"What!? That’s absurd!" Yuma exclaimed, averting her gaze away from karrie. "I-i would never think of such, y-you’re the pervert!"

Yuma frowned pretending to be mad, to which karrie simply rolled her eyes aware of her tricks.

"Whatever.. we still need to leave here now or we’ll all be dead." Karrie uttered with a hint of haste in her tone.

"B-but-" Yuma having a stubborn personality wanted to oblige. But looking at the battlefield, there were corpses. Mainly from the goblin village and kilroi town, scattered about in horrible states.

It was clear which race had the upper hand in battle, as a hit from an ogre and it was game over.

"Fine." she barely said with no choice.

"Wise decision~ take the chief and run with the people. I’ll buy you some time." Karrie calmly spoke, making Yuma raise a brow.

"I knew you were crazy but do you have a death wish?" Shaking her head karrie ignored Yuma, calmly walking forward.

"Trust me, you don’t want to be here." Not knowing why, Yuma felt unease hearing those words.

’What a strange fox.’ Shaking her head Yuma proceeded to lift jack up. He wasn’t that heavy, just weighing enough for her to carry.

"Everyone retreat!" She shouted, dashing forward without looking back. The goblins hearing the second in command followed suit, retreating without question.

"What the heck, are they abandoning us?" A male fox angrily spat, seeing the goblins retreat. But he immediately regretted taking his eyes off the ogre, as the massive club came crashing down to him.

’Bam!’ Blood spilt everywhere staining the nearby locals. Along with pieces of brain juices and intestines, from the bloody pulp body.

"W-we can’t defeat them, they’re too strong." An orc stuttered with fluttering eyes.

"Maybe we should retreat along with the goblins." Another suggested.

"No! Commander Karrie is still here, she must have a plan." The female cyclops from the bar shouted, dismissing the thoughts of running away.

In her hands were two spears. It didn’t suit her fighting style being a brute. But she made due with it, and was surprisingly getting accustomed to them.

"Commander Karrie~ our forces are being wiped off like flies, What do we do!?" She hurriedly asked with a wisp of hope in her eye.

Not answering immediately Karrie calmly passed her, standing in front of the two ogres. Her expression was calm and unmoving, unlike her normal behavior. Like she’d undergone some sort of transition?

"Get back here insects!" The two ogres roared with bloodthirsty eyes, charging for Karrie. Ignoring them, she gracefully tilted her head to the side a bit.

"Run." She softly uttered like a whisper. Hearing her, whatever hope in the locals eyes diminished with the wind.

"Y-you heard the commander, run!" Like ants they scrambled away. Running from the massive flesh eating monsters, leaving only Karrie who stood in place unfazed.

"Haha! What’s wrong ant? Friends all left you to die!?" The ogre by the left mocked, snarling at karrie like his prey.

"Mhmm.." they’d expected her to tremble in fear but she was giggling?

"Enough talk, let’s feast!" Not holding back they pounced on Karrie, like hyenas drawn to the stench of blood.

"O dark one grant me your blessing." She muttered going on her knees, further confusing the goblins.

’Crazy.’ Not suspicious at all they didn’t stop in their attack.

"And let all those before me feel your wrath. Ancient curse, demon form!" She yelled finishing her chant.

Like the flip of a switch the atmosphere changed turning dark, though it was still noon. Flashes of lightning peeled in the sky like snakes, with an otherworldly force.

The thick dark clouds then swirled rapidly, brimming with constant static lightning.

"W-what’s happening?" There was a confused look plastered on both ogre’s faces, staring at this strange phenomenon. But that wasn’t the least of their problems, no!

Down below where karrie stood, a dark foggy mist potruded from the ground enveloping her. There were deep cracks appearing on the floor encircling Karrie, forming a strange runic pattern.

Out from the mist then came a red liquid, with a familiar stench filling the cracks on the floor.

’Is that blood?’ It couldn’t be denied with their strong sense of smell, that was blood.

"Screw this, let’s get out of here!" Attempting to flee the two giants bodies froze in place. An otherworldly pressure pressing down on them, forcing them to their knees. Their grip on the massive clubs loosening, falling to the ground with a thud.

"Don’t leave yet, the feast is just getting started." An insidious voice, that sounded like an abominable entity from hell resounded, making the ogre bodies tremble.

.....

"Am here again." jack muttered floating in the familiar black space. He could tell he wasn’t dead, but his vision was blocked with his eyes for some reason.

[You can’t see the present occurances when you’re knocked out.] The system clarified his suspicions.

"If am unconscious then they’re in danger." A thick green vein bulged on his forehead.

The ogre’s were powerful, and he bore testament to that. To defeat an ogre required him going all out, and he was somewhere between early rank f to middle.

But the locals in both the goblin village and kilroi town, were no where near his level. Not to mention these giants with dominating power.

"Argh! isn’t there a way you could tell me what’s happening?" Jack frowned impatient. He wasn’t the likes to sit back and watch all his hard work go to waste.

[Unfortunately I cannot, as I am also connected to your visuals.] Clicking his tongue a light sigh escaped his mouth.

There was nothing he could do, except to hope for a miracle or they’re all dead.

’Now would be a great time to mysteriously appear.’ He thought referring to the strange black horse.

’Swoosh!’ A sharp air grazed past him, piercing his skin drawing out fresh blood.

"What the-" jolted at first he tried to make sense of what just happened. But his gaze was pulled to the holographic screen, materializing in front.

"Well that’s new~" ignoring the strange wind he gazed at the screen, clearing knowing what it was.

"A vision from my past. Ha.. it’s been a while."

In front, the translucent screen then showed whom he guessed was his younger self in his forgotten home. Which location is unknown.

"Am gonna plant some blood flowers today!" The young boy of no less than 5 years of age excitedly uttered. Puffing his little chest forward a bit. In his hands was a small shovel and bucket, containing some intricately designed red buds.

Making his way to the garden, a smile tugged on his lips. Reaching a barren large circular land he immediately got to work. Crouching down and using the shovel to dig some holes, deep enough for planting.

Once several were made, he then carefully placed each bud in a hole. Making sure to place them vertically to the soil.

"And for the finishing touch~ some blood." Making a cut to his palm, he dropped some of his blood to the buds then covered them with soil. And like magic, the just planted buds sprouted out small red leaves.

"Onto the next." Raising his left foot he froze in place, staring at a caterpillar. This wasn’t a normal caterpillar small and innocent. No! this had black skin with red lines running over it.

It was the size of a horse with 4 red eyes, and two menacing tusk like objects sticking from it’s mouth.

"G-get away from me!" The innocent child yelled turning to flee, but the caterpillar wouldn’t let him. Moving swiftly it appeared behind the boy, opening it’s mouth wide. Before it could pounce though black blur flashed, with the insect’s head falling to the ground with blood spraying everywhere.

"Y-you saved me horsie." A glint of gratitude shone in the boy’s face, staring at the horse.

"Here.. let’s be blood brothers." The boy gestured with a smile. His hand with the cut stretched out.

Hesitating, the horse stared at the hand for a while observing it. Neighing, a small cut appeared on it’s head.

...

"W-we can’t kill it~" Yuma panted soaked in blood. There were several cut marks all over her body. In her hands were the two remaining daggers in critical condition, that would give out in the next hit.

"A-am sorry your highness but we lost." She gritted her teeth, trembling in shock. In front was nothing short of a collosal titan.

It was an ogre reaching about 7 feat high. It had a strange wolf coat, encasing his upper body. While his lower region was covered in chains, from his waist to his knee.

Blood trickled down the corners of it’s gaping mouth. In one hand was a head belonging to the female cyclops, and in the other was a strange blue axe.
