Chapter 79: Chapter 79 The Leclairs Really Are a Bunch of Beasts in Human Clothing

Stone Leclair missed a strike, and the bloodthirsty brutality suppressed halfway through the night surged uncontrollably. Seeing Delphine dodging everywhere, he sneered coldly and swung the whip at her again.

Shattered porcelain thrown by Bessie Leclair was everywhere in the side hall. Delphine had to dodge the whip while avoiding the shards on the ground. Unable to react in time, she was struck hard by the whip and staggered, falling to her knees.

"Run. Keep running. Kneel for me," Stone Leclair said, watching the bloody marks left by the whip on her body. The more he whipped, the more excited he became, lashing out again and again like a madman.

The servants hid in the kitchen, too scared to step out. The old butler, sensing the danger, quickly called Ignatius Leclair. If this continued, someone might die.

Bessie Leclair was paralyzed with fear upon seeing how beaten and curled-up Delphine had become, her body covered in wounds. Seeing her uncle’s bloodshot eyes and distorted face, she turned pale and rushed upstairs, trembling, to find her phone.

"Jocelyn, my uncle has gone mad. He wants to kill Delphine," Bessie’s first reaction was to call Jocelyn Yeager.

When Jocelyn Yeager received the call, his body stiffened. He demanded harshly, "What exactly is going on?"

Bessie’s face turned pale, listening to the sound of the whip downstairs, stammering incoherently. Jocelyn interrupted her after only a few sentences, his face dark. "Where are your family’s bodyguards? Subdue Stone Leclair and deal with things after he’s calmed down."

Bessie, utterly panicked, followed Jocelyn’s suggestion and urgently ordered the bodyguards to restrain Stone Leclair.

By the time the bodyguards had knocked Stone unconscious and taken the whip from his hand, Delphine had already fallen into complete unconsciousness from the beating.

Bessie looked around at the wreckage in the room, her legs trembling. Ordering the servants to take Stone to his room, she cast a hateful glance at the unconscious Delphine and sneered, "Lock her in the wine cellar."

Jocelyn Yeager sat in the Cayenne, staring deeply at the red mansion beneath the shadows of the sycamore trees. His whole body was tense, the refined and gentle features of his face devoid of any smile, dark and terrifying.

"Third Young Master, aren’t we going in?" his assistant asked fearfully.

The Leclair Family’s Fourth Miss had just landed from her flight, and Jocelyn had gotten the news early and had been parked outside the Leclair estate for a while—but had made no move.

More than twenty minutes had passed. What if Miss Delphine Carter was beaten to death?

"Wait," Jocelyn said, veins bulging on the hand gripping his phone, exerting all his force to control himself. He couldn’t just barge in and waste years of effort.

Soon, Bessie’s call came in, saying the bodyguards had subdued Stone Leclair and she’d already summoned the family physician.

Upon hearing this, Jocelyn finally allowed his tense muscles to relax. Hanging up the phone, he only then realized his clothes were drenched in sweat.

The Leclair Family truly was a pack of beasts wearing human faces. Even against an unarmed woman, Stone Leclair could strike mercilessly.

A trace of vengeful darkness flashed within Jocelyn’s eyes. His gaze dropped as he dialed Ignatius Leclair.

Ignatius Leclair had been drinking with Richard Shaw the night before and had ordered no interruptions before sleeping at Cloud Summit. He headed straight to the group meeting in the morning, only to spot several missed calls from the Leclair estate.

He ignored them, but a call from Reginald Yeager came through shortly after.

"Third Young Master Yeager?" Ignatius Leclair raised an eyebrow, his tone icy. With Jocelyn Yeager’s scandals flooding the public domain, he still seemed to have time to spare.

"What will it take for you to let Delphine go?" Jocelyn asked bluntly, cutting straight to the point. He discarded his usual smile, his voice cold and indifferent. "She’s told me everything about what’s between the two of you. Let’s not play games, Leclair. Name your terms."
