Chapter 206: Chapter 206: The Young Master Li Is Allergic to Pets, The Li Mansion Explicitly Prohibits Keeping Pets
Leah’s two cats were solid-colored Ragdolls, with bright blue eyes and long, soft, snow-white fur. They looked like a pair of sisters, barely a few days old, two tiny bundles curled up in the cat bed.
Delphine rarely kept pets, but her heart melted a little when she saw the two kittens. She reached out and picked up one of the tiny bundles, cradling it in her arms. The other kitten, noticing this, let out a soft, coquettish meow.
Ignatius Leclair stood waiting by the car door, his handsome, stern face angled toward the newly moved-in Squire siblings’ villa. Night was falling, and the distant mountain ridges cast shadows that hid behind the glowing streetlights, tranquil and imposing.
He had already discovered that Leah Squire’s primary physician was in Switzerland. This time, with the two leaving Southeast Asia, their destination was undoubtedly Switzerland.
Europe was a place beyond Griffith Squire’s influence, and Ignatius was still hesitating—should he act or not?
The man stood in the night breeze for a while before he saw Delphine cautiously emerging with the two small bundles in her arms. Her delicate face carried a faint trace of softness.
Ignatius cast his gaze at the two tiny bundles snuggled obediently in her embrace, and his brow furrowed slightly.
Delphine got in the car, setting the two kittens on a soft cushion. She stroked one kitten, then glanced at the other, utterly enraptured. After quite some time, noticing the car still hadn’t moved, she turned her gaze to the tall, sharp silhouette standing outside.
"Let’s go, I’m a little hungry." She reached out and tugged on Ignatius Leclair’s sleeve cuff. Perhaps it was the sight of the two irresistibly cute kittens, but even her voice was softer than usual.
Ignatius looked at the hand that had just been petting kittens and was now tugging on his sleeve cuff. His handsome face remained expressionless as he lightly responded with a single tone, then got into the car, though he chose the front seat, keeping some distance from the two kittens.
"Miss Delphine, are you planning to keep cats?" The elite assistant, who had spent the entire day driving, hesitated briefly before asking.
"Yes, they’re Leah’s cats. I’ll take care of them for now," Delphine replied softly, her gaze still fixed on the kittens.
But—Ignatius is allergic to pets! Maximilian glanced at the stoic, handsome man in the front seat, internally on the verge of breaking down.
Ignatius was allergic to all kinds of furry animals. As a result, the Leclair Mansion had maintained a strict no-pet policy for years.
Maximilian opened his mouth as if to say something but quickly closed it when Ignatius shot him a cold look. He focused on driving instead.
Seeing Ignatius take the front seat, clearly disinterested in pets, Delphine tentatively asked, "If I build a cat shelter in the yard and keep them there, will that be okay?"
If she kept them inside the house, it would attract too much attention.
"Fine, but don’t bring them upstairs," the man said with a low, sensual voice, his tone calm.
"Alright." Delphine was a little delighted, her large eyes curving into a soft smile as she continued stroking the Ragdoll kittens and chatting with them.
"I haven’t asked your mommy—have you been given names yet? Which one of you is the big sister, and which one is the little sister?"
The two tiny kittens let out soft, kittenish meows.
Sitting in the front seat, Ignatius listened to the woman’s gentle, sweet voice. The coldness in his sharply handsome features softened a fraction. If only she were as docile and clingy as those two Ragdoll kittens, he thought.
When Delphine brought the two snow-white Ragdolls back to the Leclair Mansion, they instantly sparked quite the commotion.
Bessie Leclair had taken a fall during her engagement banquet, leading to its cancellation. Grandfather Leclair had called the house, anger evident in his tone as he scolded them.
The Leclair Mansion was already engulfed in chaos, and now, Miss Delphine had decided to show up with two kittens cradled in her arms.
The aging butler, well into his fifties, felt his right eyelid twitch uncontrollably, his heart practically leaping out of his chest. He vividly remembered how the young master had suffered from a severe allergic reaction to pets in his childhood—a fever lasting three days and nights!
