Chapter 102: Chapter 102 Bloodthirsty Demon King
Jocelyn Yeager woke up that night.
When the assistant arrived at the VIP ward with daily essentials, Jocelyn’s head was wrapped in white gauze. His handsome face showed no signs of infirmity as he lowered his gaze to read the trending news of the day.
"Third Young Master, the news has already been released. I’m confident it will start yielding results very soon." The assistant smiled, having silently endured for a month. Finally, the Third Young Master had chosen to act.
Jocelyn looked at the overwhelming flood of news, nodded, and asked casually, "Any movement from the Yeager Family?"
Leo Yeager’s attack on Jocelyn and his mother wouldn’t be deemed a major issue by the Yeager Family so long as there were no fatalities.
Unfortunately for them, the incident was exposed by swarming reporters. Videos of the beating circulated everywhere, and for a reputable family like the Yeagers, their pride was their greatest concern.
"The old master is furious. Apparently, Leo Yeager has already gone into hiding, waiting for the storm to blow over before returning. But he wouldn’t realize that the assault incident is just the beginning—not the end." The assistant sneered.
Tomorrow morning, with scandals continuing to escalate, what awaits the Yeager Family’s eldest son won’t just be public outrage but the fury of the prominent families involved.
After all, the socialites he’d had affairs with were all influential figures.
"Any sign of activity from Ignatius Leclair’s side?" Jocelyn had never considered his inept elder brother as an opponent. The reason he had waited until this moment to act was entirely because of Delphine.
"Miss Delphine originally stayed at the hospital the entire time. After Ignatius Leclair showed up, she was forced to return to the seaside villa. We’ve lost control over developments on that front." The assistant cautiously glanced at the Third Young Master, hesitating before adding, "We haven’t dealt with the Yeager Family’s issue yet, and now provoking Ignatius Leclair—is that wise?"
Jocelyn waved him off, speaking softly, "No need to worry. Leave now. For the next few days, let it be known that my injuries are severe and I won’t see anyone."
The next morning, Delphine awoke to find herself lying in Ignatius Leclair’s arms. Her face turned pale as she recalled the madness of the previous night. Enduring the soreness, she headed to the bathroom.
Sinking into the bathtub, warm water enveloping her, she closed her eyes. After a simple rinse, she got out and dressed.
When she emerged, Ignatius was already awake.
The man had wrapped only a towel around his waist, exposing his narrow, firm torso, long, lean legs, and sculpted abdominal muscles. Standing by the window, he was on the phone, his voice low and magnetic—a temptation to sin.
Delphine’s face flushed. She hurriedly fled downstairs.
After finishing his call, Ignatius watched her retreating figure and rubbed his chin, musing with intrigue—so thin-skinned? Seems she’ll need some teaching.
Ignatius, freshly showered and wearing a clean outfit, went downstairs. Maximilian happened to arrive with take-out from a five-star restaurant, grinning as he greeted him.
Nanny Li had gone to visit her grandson, leaving the villa without staff. Maximilian had no choice but to reluctantly play the role of errand boy.
Delphine, starving to the point that her stomach was almost plastered to her spine, saw Maximilian arriving with food and dashed to the kitchen to grab dishes and utensils. When she returned, she overheard Maximilian briefing the man seated at the dining table: "The eldest Yeager exposed numerous affairs with socialites. Once the scandal broke this morning, Emeric Thompson stormed into the Yeager Family estate carrying a hunting rifle, vowing to take down their eldest son."
At this, Ignatius smirked faintly and remarked nonchalantly, "If memory serves, Emeric’s been working as a middleman these past few years, mainly dealing with Warlord’s Domain factions in the Golden Triangle area."
Interesting.
"Word is, he’s been running errands for Griffith Squire. Otherwise, he wouldn’t dare act so brazenly. Today it’s a hunting rifle; tomorrow it might just be a rocket launcher." Maximilian joked.
Ignatius narrowed his long, ominous phoenix-like eyes. Griffith Squire—Richard Shaw had mentioned him before—as the infamous Bloodthirsty Demon King in the Golden Triangle, notorious as a local warlord and someone even government forces steered clear of provoking.
For Jocelyn to use such a scandal to invoke Griffith’s name against the Yeager Family—he certainly wasn’t afraid of having the tides turn against him and stirring trouble with those best left undisrupted.
