Chapter 101: Chapter 101 Do you like it?
Delphine was pinned down onto the seat by him, immediately forgetting to cry out of shock. Facing Ignatius Leclair, she dared not even protest or struggle too violently. Her previous injuries hadn’t fully healed, and she feared that if she struggled too much, Ignatius might not control his strength.
Ignatius saw that she stiffened her body without resisting. Knowing this wasn’t the best place, he raised his head and instructed the driver to head to the seaside villa.
On the way there, Ignatius maintained a sense of restraint, yet he didn’t exactly let her go either. All of Delphine’s earlier thoughts and ideas had already been completely shattered. She bit down on her lip, refusing to make a sound.
Ignatius’s car offered a high degree of privacy, with the partition separating them ensuring the driver couldn’t see what was happening in the back. Yet, there was still a persistent feeling of being watched that lingered in the air.
This prolonged torment felt like a sword hanging over her head—she almost wished it would just come down already, sparing her the torment of anxiously waiting.
Seeing her expression, Ignatius narrowed his deep phoenix-like eyes. Grasping her small hands pinned against the seat, his face darkened slightly as he asked, "Feeling wronged?"
Delphine bit her lip, saying nothing. The blood in her body rushed to her face, leaving her too weak to do anything but shake her head.
"Speak." The man tilted her delicate chin upward, his voice cold and commanding.
"Not wronged," Delphine murmured, her eyes misty, her voice soft and fragile, laced with visible grievance.
That was her true voice, carrying the gentle, tender sweetness of a woman—not the hoarse tone she’d deliberately adopted over years of effort. To Ignatius, it seemed everything about this woman—her face, her voice—was molded to perfectly suit his preferences.
"Good. Remember that. Someone as cunning as Reginald Yeager—you still dared to approach him? Are you tired of living?" Ignatius said coldly. At this moment, his mood unexpectedly lightened, and he gave her a faint warning.
Jocelyn Yeager, coming from the Yeager family—how clean could someone like that possibly be? Only a fool like Delphine Carter would fail to see through it.
Delphine kept her head down, saying nothing.
When they arrived at the seaside villa, it was still Ignatius who carried her out of the car.
The housekeeper wasn’t at the villa, so Ignatius carried her all the way to the second floor.
Delphine thought to herself, this man was truly her undoing. If there ever came a day when Ignatius grew tired of her, she doubted she could ever accept another man in her life.
Drained to the point of passing out, Delphine slipped into unconsciousness. The man, satisfied both in body and mind, stroked her soft, fuzzy little head, a satisfied curve forming at the corner of his lips. He reached out and silenced the vibrating phone, answering it.
"Mr. Leclair, Reginald Yeager has woken up."
