The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 66
Chapter 66: Chapter 66
"Why are you getting married to her? We did not come here for you to find a wife amongst the Blackwells. We came here to kill all the Blackwell bloodline and not have it mixed with our kind one day. I know humans intrigued you and if that is the case with the princess, take her with us as a pet."
"Alastor, please speak about my wife in a more positive manner before I feed you to my wolves. Where are they by the way? Send someone to find them and bring them inside the castle but make sure they don’t eat anyone. I’ve promised my wife peace. Does anyone have an eye on her?"Killian asked while he walked around Richard’s private room with his hands behind his back.
Alastor, one of Killian’s close friends and second-in-command, could not believe a demon king was talking about peace after how much they looked forward to slaughtering the Blackwells. "I’m starting to believe you might be a shapeshifter and not the Killian I know."
"You’ve been on my ass about picking a wife and now that I’ve picked on you’re unhappy," said Killian.
"Not a human, Killian. I suppose the only good thing is her short lifespan. She won’t be our queen for long, especially if a demon tried to kill her."
"I want my wife to be by my side for as long as I am alive. Do not sound so relieved, Alastor. I can still turn her into a demon and there are other ways to make her live forever. After what she did to her father, I have no doubt she would make an excellent demon. What is this?" Killian picked up a paper with a list of names from Richard’s desk. "A list of suitors? None of them compare to me."
Alastor felt the need to smack his face. If only the princess was not in the carriage that day. Perhaps her body would have been hanging from the castle gates right now. "You found a human to amuse you and that is why you’re marrying her but she is marrying you for the sake of her people. To be honest, it seems like she would jump at any opportunity to be queen."
Killian watched the paper with the list of names burn in his hands. "What is wrong with that? When I decided I wanted to be king, I found an opportunity to make it happen. There is nothing wrong with going after what you desire."
"I give up. There is nothing more I can do to convince you to forget marrying her. Honestly, do you think she’ll survive in the north? You said her grandmother requested you tell her the truth. Quite frankly, I don’t think she’ll want to marry you when she finds out what we are and when she changes her mind," Alastor grinned as he imagined the floors stained with blood.
"There is something seriously wrong with you, Alastor. At some point, you have to look for entertainment in something else. I’ve told you to watch the humans," Killian stood by a window where he caught sight of Amelia storming out of a tower with her guard right behind her. "They are amusing."
"I rather watch the hellhounds tear someone apart. I will oversee the prisoners being released. Have fun watching humans," Alastor disappeared into thin air.
Killian didn’t pay any mind to Alastor’s words, instead, he kept looking down at where Fraser stumbled out of the tower right after Amelia. "He does not have any common sense," he muttered.
Killian was tempted to kill Fraser for going after Amelia. However, he wanted to toy with Fraser. Killian saw what Fraser desired from the moment he saw him. Killian planned to hand Fraser the throne just to take it away from him shortly after.
It was a pity Alastor didn’t see how fun it was to play around with humans. They were so easy to deceive.

As the day went on, Blackwell guards and everyone else who had been captured were released and free to walk around the castle as they normally would. The Northerners were still posted all over the castle to keep an eye on anyone who would be plotting. There was a lot of tension between the two sides but they kept their distance.
"At least you are useful for something," Killian commented on Cyrus standing outside Amelia’s door. "It’s a shame you hardly put up a fight the day my men attacked the carriage."
"That won’t happen again. I will not allow you to go inside while the princess is getting dressed," Cyrus scooted across to hide Amelia’s door handle. They were all going to meet for dinner in the dining hall so why was Killian here?
"I didn’t come here to sneak a peek at her changing but we both know if I wanted to get inside there is nothing you could do to block me. You are trying to make me out to be this horrible monster but you are no different than me. We share the same blood, remember? I am just a lot more powerful than you are-"
"Cyrus, I heard voices-oh," Amelia blinked twice, taking in the sight of Killian standing outside her door. Instead of Killian looking like he was ready for war, he wore simple clothes. "Why are you here?"
"I thought it would be a nice gesture to walk my future wife to dinner. I have not seen you since this morning. Isn’t that a nice thing to do?"
"It is," Amelia couldn’t disagree with that but she found it odd to have him acting like this. "Cyrus," she turned to her friend. "Gina is inside putting back up a few dresses. Go with her to get something to eat. You need to have dinner and then you can come to find me. Eat, Cyrus," she said before he could object to leaving her.
Killian watched with a lack of interest how Amelia treated Cyrus like how a mother would force a child to eat.
"At least take Gina to get her dinner and safely bring her back to my room. Then you can come to look for me. Isn’t that fair? Trust me, I am well protected," Amelia patted her thigh.
Cyrus didn’t view her having a knife as her being protected. Killian was skilled enough to easily overpower her but he did not want to destroy her confidence. He needed to bring back up the topic of her learning to defend herself when he could not be around.
"Alright," Cyrus replied.
Amelia offered her a smile before she left to go to dinner with Killian and everyone else. She was curious how the night would end now that Fraser was still in the Castle and Annabelle would have a lot to say about her unborn child.
"Is the dagger you patted meant to harm your future husband or are you afraid of my men?" Killian asked.
"Both. I can tell from the look in their eyes when I walk by that they are not too happy I am going to marry their king. Some look as if they are ready to kill me at any moment and I do not trust you yet."
"Fair enough," Killian didn’t take offense from her words. He did not trust her either. "I am expecting that one night I will be woken up by you straddling me and a dagger pointed at my neck. Please do so. It would be such a thrill."
"I am not going to engage in whatever sexual fantasies you have. If I wanted to kill you while you slept, I would not waste time straddling you to do so," Amelia whispered so no one passing by would hear her talk about killing someone. "Can I ask what you discussed with my grandmother? She has told me the two of you have met before without my father knowing."
"Don’t be nosey, princess. There is something I must discuss with you the moment dinner is over so you can send your little guard elsewhere during that time. I’m certain it is something he will want me to tell you anyway."
Amelia became curious about this. Cyrus had mentioned he needed Killian to tell her the truth about something. What exactly were they both hiding? What secret was the north hiding from the world? "Can you tell me what it is now? I cannot wait any longer. Does it have something to do with why the priests have locked themselves in the temple and do not wish to step out?"
Amelia found that odd due to the fact the temple would always open its doors for anyone to pray at a time like this. She passed by servants wanting to get in but in the end, they had to pray on the outside as no one answered their cries.
"Somewhat. Be patient, little one. You must fill your stomach before you also lock yourself away from us and do not wish to step out," said Killian.
