The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 302
Chapter 302: Chapter 302
"You can wait out here Edith. Should I bring you a chair or-"
"It is fine. I would rather be standing in case someone tries attacking your room. If there is anything you need, please call upon me and I will get Gina for you," Edith said, pushing Amelia into her room.
"Where has Gina run off to?" Amelia asked, looking down the hall where Gina should show up. "I didn’t think she would want to be away from us right now. It is still dangerous for her."
Edith continued to push Amelia inside her room. Amelia kept stopping to speak of the most irrelevant things so she could prolong having to go inside her bedroom. "She went off somewhere arguing with Alastor. She knows this castle better than I do so she will be able to find her way back here without finding herself in danger. You must go inside."
"I am going. My mother and Lilith are already pushing me away from the throne room. I didn’t think you would join them, Edith. I could have at least watched from afar what they were doing. How do I even get Killian to return to speak with me? I have never done this before," Amelia said.
Killian was far away from where she stood in the Blackwell castle. How was she supposed to get him to know that she wanted to speak with him now?
"Demons are sort of sensitive to the people they have bedded. There is a mark we leave on each other. Something like what werewolves do, but with less of the deep connection crap and having one soul mate. Just long for him or force yourself to be really sad and he shows up. I will not let you out of this room until a few hours have passed. Do not think of the castle and rest," Edith said, closing the door right after.
Amelia sighed and rested her head on the door. Everyone was hellbent on trapping her inside her room. The last time she was here, she had been burning from the holy water Margaret had fallen on her and Killian. It was hard to believe that it happened this morning.
So much had happened from the moment she woke up with Killian being attacked by the priests, him killing them and the men Fraser hired, her sitting on the throne, the underworld opening its gates, her mother’s return and now her grandmother had turned to a toad.
"How did this all happen in one day and the day is far from over?" Amelia wondered out loud. She still had not eaten much to last her the day. When it came time for dinner, the table would have interesting guests seated.
Amelia didn’t realise just how much had happened till now that she had a chance to think about it. Her grandmother being a toad was the one she would find hard to get used to the most. Her mother’s return felt normal since she knew that her mother was alive. It was just surreal to see her right now.
Amelia walked away from the door since there was no way Edith would let her walk out and go back down to the throne room or at least go to a window in one of the halls so she could see what was happening at the gates.
The only thing she could do now was go to her balcony to see what was happening to the kingdom and try to see what was happening in the direction of the kingdom Killian was meant to be at now.
She could already hear the laughter of demons flying around above the castle. She was yet to know what exactly it was that they were laughing at or perhaps, she had misread the sounds they made for laughter.
Amelia walked to the balcony and opened the door, but did not step out onto the balcony. Just like her room back in the north, there was a good drop on this balcony if someone were to knock her over and cause her to fall. It would certainly have Killian arrive if he could feel that she was scared, but falling from her balcony was not something she wished to go through right now.
She still felt the chills from when Killian would fly her around. From this moment on, the two of them were going to make proper use of her carriages. It was stressful to think of the fact that one day she and Killian might also have children who would fly around and she would bet the throne they would want her to fly around with them.
It was not going to happen.
Amelia thought of Killian in an attempt to get him to know she wanted or better yet, needed him here. She doubted this would work, but then again, Killian always had a special talent to show up before her at the best time.
If Killian could not come, she would settle for Loki coming to see her. For a wolf given to her, he failed at coming to see her often. She was starting to think the wolf only came around when it wanted to have fun showing Killian that it allowed her to pet him.
Amelia sighed, closing back the balcony doors. Rather than try reaching out to him with her emotions she would wait till night. He was most likely busy leading the army and she did not want to come off as a needy wife. Having a needy husband was already enough.
Killian promised he would visit her when night came so they could catch up on what they did and perhaps he would lay in bed with her until she fell asleep and then go back to where he was needed.
Amelia went to her bed and fell down onto the soft mattress face first. The best way to make time move faster so she could go back to the throne and see her husband was to sleep. She turned to lay on her side so she could look around her room to see if Killian had shown up and once she saw that he was not there, she closed her eyes to force herself to sleep.
Hours passed and Amelia was woken up by the familiar scent of cooked meat. It was about time she got her hands on something proper to eat. She was ready for dinner.
"Dinner!?" Amelia exclaimed, opening her eyes as she sat up. She was not supposed to sleep that long. "Why didn’t anyone wake me up?"
"Because your wonderful husband warned them not to. You have some nerve to desire me only for me to come and realise it is in your sleep that you want me. You can make up for it by telling what kind of dream it was that you were having. Is it the same as in my head?" Killian asked, hoping that it was so they could both be curious enough to try out what they were imagining.
"You," Amelia said, in shock to see Killian laying on the bed right beside her, and eating her meat.
"Yes, me?" Killian replied, placing a cut of the beef by her lips. "I could hear your stomach as you slept. I leave for one day and they starve my wife. You must have been cranky all day."
Amelia was still too surprised by the sight of Killian to eat the meat even though she really wanted to eat it. "How are you here? I was trying to get you here before I went to bed."
"Well, it seems that something you dreamt of did the trick which is why I am curious as to what it was. I felt that you desperately desired to have me near, with a bit of lust, and then there was sadness. I was in the middle of killing the neighbouring prince who you were meant to marry. I had to imprison him until I returned. I should be given a reward for leaving that and coming to you," Killian said.
"You are being a good husband. There doesn’t need a reward for that since it is how you should be. I do not know how I got you here, but I am glad to see you. There is so much that has happened. My mother is here. Did you meet her while I was sleeping? I hope not," Amelia said since she wanted to be for the very first moment her husband met with her mother.
"Why? Afraid your mother would be like your toad of a grandmother and try to separate us? I have not left your bedroom. Gina was the one who came to bring you food and found me here. Another day I would love to know why she reeks of Alastors scent. Since when did the two of them have that kind of a relationship?" Killian asked.
Amelia finally accepted the meat from Killian. "You are mistaken. Gina and Alastor do not like each other. They always bicker when they are around each other."
"I did not mistake the strong scent of sex that lingered on her-"
"What!" Amelia exclaimed, almost choking because of her reaction.
