The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 289

Chapter 289: Chapter 289

Amelia smiled, enjoying the confusion on Fraser’s face. It was what she had been looking forward to since she returned to this castle. "I wanted to see what the changes you made to this throne felt like. It was money wasted, in my opinion. I liked the old throne more. I think we should change it to how it was before."

There was something about the throne that was here before that she liked. Maybe it was because it was the throne she always imagined herself sitting on to rule.

Fraser wanted a cup of water so he could splash it on his face and wake up from whatever dream he had fallen into. Amelia could not possibly be sitting on his throne, telling him to change it and Amelia certainly did not have her guards standing in his throne room. Northern dogs did not belong in here.

"What are you doing, cousin? That is my throne, which you are sitting on in my castle. Get off of it now. Did you hit your head and forget that you are not to sit on my throne-"

"The throne is mine, Fraser. It has always belonged to me. A real Blackwell, and one day it will have one of my children sitting here as its ruler," said Amelia, not planning to move at Fraser’s order. Her father made the big mistake of not giving the throne to her in the beginning.

Fraser chuckled, believing Amelia might have drunk something and stumbled into the throne room. Her guards were stupid enough to go along with it instead of taking her to her room. "You must have hit your head and drunk something you shouldn’t have. You have a throne in the north. Not as grand as this one, but it is better than nothing."

"I want that throne too. I want to rule both of them for now and then leave them to my children. I don’t dislike aunt Beth, but talk about her affairs makes me wonder if you are your father’s child. Beth was grandfather’s child from an affair and you are from your mother’s affairs-"

"You shut your fucking mouth," Fraser said with anger, pointing his finger at Amelia as he approached the throne. What stopped him were the northerners who stood at the bottom of the throne. They were ready to attack him like he wasn’t the king of the castle.

"You are not fit to rule as king. I am sure your grandfather, father, and mother know it, but they could all benefit from it, so they don’t want to tell you. Have you heard that Cedric jumped out of a window? Landed on rocks and injured his head. The maid that saw it said he spoke of something haunting him, and he didn’t look too good. My condolences," Amelia said, touching her chest.

It was good news to hear that Cedric was dead. That was one person out of the way for her to not deal with. She hoped that he was already suffering in the underworld.

"Your words are empty," Fraser said, not accepting them. He didn’t care about Cedric being hurt. He wanted her off his throne. Why weren’t his guards doing something to get rid of her? Did they honestly need him to give the order?

"I know. They are as empty as your words when my mother died. There goes the queen, is what you said to me. I remembered those words well. You and me could have gotten along well. We could have had a clean race to the throne, and if you would have made a good king, I wouldn’t have minded losing to you. My mother was the only one I felt warmth from. All of you had plans that would either hurt or use me," Amelia said.

Her father wanted to marry her off to some other kingdom for an alliance, Beth filled her father’s ears with praises about Fraser so she could not be considered for queen, Margaret followed the tales about golden children to use her to kill demons, and Fraser insulted her every chance he got.

"Blackwells should stick together. It is what is said when you read our history. If we stood together, no one could break us. We spent our days going at each other. Those before us would be ashamed of what this castle has become. The priests wanted to cleanse me, but instead, I will cleanse this castle. Do you believe in demons, Fraser?" Amelia asked, standing up from the throne.

Fraser looked over his shoulder at the sound of many footsteps coming toward the throne room. His mother must have sensed something was wrong and sent more of his guards to protect him. Fraser saw it as fair to claim that Amelia had lost her mind since she was talking about demons and sitting on a throne that did not belong to her.

"I believe that you have lost your mind. Your husband has left the castle, and now you are revealing that you have lost your mind during your time in the north. This is the real you. Step down from my throne without a fight, and I will pick a good room to confine you to. The former princess needs to be imprisoned until she regains her sanity," Fraser smiled.

"It is not me who will need to be confined. It is you," Amelia said, and just as the words left her mouth, the castle began to shake. Amelia was not phased by it since Killian warned her that many of the gates opening would cause the world to shake like this.

Fraser almost fell but was caught by one of his guards. He looked up at Amelia, who didn’t seem surprised by the castle’s shaking. "You are a witch," he muttered.

"No, but I plan to become a demon one day. You were right that I killed my father. I killed him in his sleep. I poured the poison into his mouth and watched him struggle to get out of bed to save himself. I sometimes play it over in my mind. I hope that in the underworld, he lives through it over and over again. I don’t regret taking his life. It is what he deserves. Now I wonder what to do with you," Amelia said, starting to descend the steps of the throne.

"Your father always said you were a witch. You will burn!" Fraser yelled, stepping behind his guards to protect him from whatever Amelia planned to do.

"I am not a witch, and the people in the north are not dogs, as you call them. They are demons. My husband is a demon, and the devil is real. He is not as you would imagine him, but he has his moments of being scary. Don’t believe me about, demons?" Amelia questioned him since he looked at her as if she were a crazed woman sprouting nonsense.

"How is it that you can think that I am a witch, but the existence of demons is so hard for you to believe? How about I show you that they are real? Agramon," Amelia called upon the demon, who was watching in the dark corner of the throne room. "Please show my cousin that your kind is real."
