The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 280
Chapter 280: Chapter 280
Amelia guessed that it was holy water the priests had dropped on her and Killian, but what she didn’t understand was Killian standing calm while it felt like her body was on fire. She was neither a witch nor a demon to be affected by holy water.
"Does it hurt?" Killian asked, inspecting Amelia’s hands, which were turning red. He also did not understand why Amelia was affected by holy water. She was just a regular human unless her involvement with him made her less pure.
Holy water was tricky since it did not just affect demons.
Amelia nodded her head.
Margret took a step forward to inspect what was happening to Amelia, who was trembling. Killian should be the one in pain right now. Her arms were grabbed by a priest who did not want her to get close to Killian. "You corrupted my granddaughter," she said.
Killian ignored Margaret’s words, which were not necessary at the moment. He took hold of Amelia’s hands, causing her to flinch. "Can you make it to the door? I will take care of them," he said.
Killian’s anger had reached a new level now that Amelia was hurt by all of this.
Amelia watched her hands tremble from the pain. Her arms and other parts of her body felt stiff. Why was she caught up in this fight between Killian and the priest? She was the one trying to stop this, and yet she ended up in pain for some reason.
Amelia slowly nodded her head. They weren’t that far away from the door, and no matter how far she had to walk, she wanted to find cold water and jump in it.
Amelia pushed through the pain and walked around Killian to go to the door. She could not think of her grandmother or the priests at this moment. All that was on her mind was finding cold water so she could stop this burning feeling that covered her body.
"You have ruined her" Margaret sneered. There was no reason why Amelia should be affected by holy water. It was what they planned to use to cleanse her once Killian was gone. She believed Killian had done something to Amelia.
Killian waited for the door to close behind Amelia before turning his attention to Margaret. As entertaining as humans could be, they were still fools who didn’t realise how weak they are. Always trying to pick a fight they could never win. "You threw her into my arms. You and your son did. The day you fools sent your princess to serve as bait for me. You have only yourselves to blame."
Killian placed his hands behind his back as he drew closer to Margaret. Right away, the priests got into a stance to fight him. "The holy water has not worked on me. Do you think those little swords will work?"
"They have always worked on your kind. That is why you fear us," Margaret answered.
"It’s a pain in the ass to heal, but nothing to kill me. If it could, I might have been killed by the few priests I have run into over the years. Neither those weapons nor that holy water would work on the devil, who was once an angel. Why do you think it would work on me, who stands by his side? It stings a bit," Killian admitted.
He felt the same pain Amelia was feeling now, but he had touched holy water many times to be immune to it. It was why he didn’t care that before they were officially married, Amelia had brought weapons given to her by Margaret into his castle. She needed it for the lower-ranking demons it could kill with a single touch.
Margaret took a step back behind the priest to allow them to shield her. No demon had ever stepped into the temple and not immediately started to burn. Then they would finish it off by throwing holy water. She underestimated Killian Bune, but considering their weapons did cause him pain, they could still win this.
With Killian being so in love with Amelia, they should have taken Amelia and used her to control Killian.
Margaret looked at the door where Amelia had gone. If she could get to Amelia, she would use Amelia to get Killian to stop fighting. It didn’t matter if she would need to put a knife to Amelia’s throat and act as if she wanted to harm Amelia. Killian could not kill the priest in the temple.
Killian noticed Margaret looking ahead at him at the door. "You are not getting to her. You’re lucky that Amelia made me promise not to kill you. The little fools around you, I can, but to kill you would have made my day. You entertained me once in the past. That saved you from me ever killing you, but you’ve done something foolish."
"Not only did you upset my wife, but you mentioned getting rid of our child if she was one day revealed to be pregnant. As the loving husband I am, that doesn’t sit well with me," Killian said, removing his hands behind his back so he could look at his nails, which had grown longer and turned dark. "We shall have as many children as we like. It is a shame you will not be around to see them."
Killian’s words did not scare Margaret. There was little she was afraid of, and Killian would never be the one to have her fear that her life would soon come to an end. She welcomed death and before she left this world, she would take Killian with her and have Amelia sit alone on the Blackwell throne.
"Do not come any further," one of the priests said, pointing his sword at Killian when he got too close to where Margaret was. Under the priest’s commands, he had taken the name Remial. He took pleasure in killing demons like Killian.
"Hold him here, Remial," Margaret said as she left the priest who was blocking Killian from getting to her. There was another door she could use to get out and allow the others she had called upon to join in on killing Killian.
