"You didn’t wake me up for dinner," Amelia said. She looked out at the balcony door which let in the light from the sun.

"You were tired and put in a bad mood because of Cyrus leaving. I thought it was best you slept," Killian replied, pushing her messy hair out of her face. "You rolled around a lot in your sleep. I’ve almost been punched in the eye. Were you fighting someone in your dreams?"

"No, I was swimming around actually."

"Oh, so you were drowning," Killian teased. "I will keep you away from deep water in the future."

"I can swim," Amelia said, sitting up to get rid of her sleep and start the day. "I’ve been swimming from a young age. I am not believing the story about me moving around a lot or almost punching you. I sleep still like a log."

"You’ve never seen yourself sleep to know. I was tempted to tie you up so you would stop moving-"

"It is not good to lie so early in the morning. I have become talented to point out when you are lying to me. I am in need of food soon," Amelia stated after her stomach started to hint at it. "I’m surprised I made it through the night when I had not eaten. We should get dressed early and go down to breakfast."

"Not so fast," Killian snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her back toward him. "Stay in bed a bit more."

"Killian, I guarantee your love for me will change since I become quite the monster when I am hungry. You are starting to look quite tasty to me now. We will be a couple who enjoy eating each other," Amelia joked, but she was tempted to playfully bite him. "Do you wish to let me go or be eaten?"

"The second option doesn’t sound so bad. Bite me anywhere you wish," Killian replied, letting go of Amelia. He should have woken her up from her sleep last night and let her eat something to fill her stomach until breakfast.

"One day, your mind needs to be studied. I hope we have the tools to do it in the future. We can lay around in bed later if we are free, but I know we won’t be. We have guests to entertain and I need to start working on proving myself. Besides the gates which I have no need to visit, I have access to all rooms in the castle as Queen right?" Amelia had to ask as it was normal for Queens to be restricted from going places where important documents were held as it was viewed not needed for her to get involved with.

Amelia recalled how her mother would not be able to sit in the court when decisions about the kingdom were being made. Her mother would often say that being Queen was just having a title, sitting pretty on a throne beside your husband, and trying to push out many heirs. Amelia wanted to be more involved in the affairs of her kingdom.

"No one should stop you from entering whatever room you wish to enter. Unless you want to enter a room being occupied by someone. My eyes were spoiled by the sight of Lilith and Lucifer in the act of having sex on my throne. They did nothing on your throne," Killian added when Amelia made a face.

"Good. I don’t want anyone making babies there. I will stay clear of going into someone’s room. For today, I want to spend most of my time in the library. Getting to know more about your history and the type of demons. Then I plan to start making some changes in the castle to take some of the work off of us. You need a court. Alastor will be the first pick," Amelia decided.

They needed the right people in place to deal with many of the issues she was certain the north had.

"Each village needs to have someone in charge to solve conflict. The two of us should not have to constantly leave the castle to end small fights. We can take up a vote on who becomes in charge of each village so it is not like we are being biased. What do you think of creating one big market somewhere on the mountain for everyone to trade with each other? You can also have people outside the north come to trade. Everyone would benefit from it," Amelia said then waited for Killian’s answer.

"A big market does not seem too bad. We won’t be able to invite anyone to trade in the north just yet," Killian answered.

"I know that will take some time since we are not on good terms with the Blackwell castle, but we can trade with other kingdoms. Are there other creatures that demons get along with?"

"From time to time, we get along with vampires. The first group of vampires were created by Lucifer. Witches pass through the mountain from time to time. They come looking for things brought out of the underworld to create their spells," Killian answered, stroking Amelia’s hair with his fingers as he spoke.

"Then we can trade with them. There must be something vampires or witches have that demons would need. There is a lot of wealth trading with nearby kingdoms run by humans. We should work on creating alliances with other royalties before Fraser reaches out to them. I have so many plans in mind for us. Oh, what about having a ball? Opening the castle for everyone living on the mountain to attend? It would help them get a close look at their Queen," Amelia suggested as she needed something to let the demons see what she was like altogether instead of visiting villages one by one.

"As you wish-"

"Killian, I hope that you are finding my ideas good and not just agreeing to them because it will make me happy. I want you to be honest with me. I don’t want to plan anything you do not truly agree with. My feelings do not matter when it comes to the good of the kingdom. My plans might work for a human kingdom so please tell me if anything I do is not necessary for demons. Go on," Amelia sat quietly as she awaited his criticism.

"I would tell you when a plan wouldn’t work and I did by telling you we cannot let anyone into the north yet. Other kingdoms trade with each other, but the North has done nothing like it. The people here can grow their wealth trading things no other kingdom has and as for the ball, it is time the gates open wide to get a closer look at the new Queen. I have been a bit closed off from my people which has led to them being out of control," Killian admitted to his faults.

"Thank you for your honesty. I will be sure to run my other plans to you. As for the court, you know the demons here best so you should pick those who should join. I do have one suggestion you might not agree with. Agramon," Amelia smiled sweetly to convince Killian.

"No, and you can stop smiling as it will not work on me. Why put a man who will soon be dead in court? Think of someone else. Go away," Killian gently pushed Amelia away when she tried to hug him. "It is irritating that you are being touchy in an effort to make me choose Agramon. Why him?"

"Neither of you will see it so soon, but I think giving him a position in the court will help satisfy his need to rule. Agramon just seems like he wants to be useful to Lucifer like you are, but he is misdirecting anger at you. It is evident in the fact he has not made an attempt to kill you. The castle would be better off if the two of you worked together. I am sure that is what Lucifer wanted from the beginning," Amelia said, sliding off of the bed now to soap in water before Gina would arrive to dress her.

"You wanted honesty so here it is. What you are asking for between me and Agramon will never work. We’ve hated each other for as long as I have known him," Killian replied, getting off the bed with Amelia so he could soap with her. "We should just kill him. Doesn’t that sound better?"

"Not everything has to end in violence-"

"Says the woman who killed her father and wishes to kill her cousin," Killian reminded her of her actions.

"Hey! My father’s death was not violent. It was quite peaceful and if there is a way to get rid of Fraser as King without killing him, I would do it. I use violence as the last, last resort when everything else has failed. I bet you never had a proper conversation with Agramon. The two of you might honestly have no reason to argue with each other. I bet that if you were to pretend to hand the throne to Agramon he would be stunned and not know what to do. Why are you in here with me?" Amelia asked as she only now noticed Killian had followed her to the bathroom.

"Are we not here for a morning soak?"
