Chapter 238: Chapter 238

"Where are we going, Killian?" Amelia asked as she followed behind him to who knows where. She looked out at the dark sky which meant her coronation day was soon coming to an end.

"It is a secret. Do you not know how surprises work?" Killian replied. He couldn’t say out loud where they were going as there was something he didn’t want many to know about. Not even Lucifer though he had a feeling the devil already knew about it.

"I do, but I am starting to feel like we are getting closer to the door of the underworld. It is getting really hot," Amelia said, fanning herself to deal with the heat.

"It will get better shortly. Here," Killian opened a door for her.

Amelia had never come this far down in the castle since it would normally be too hot for her liking, but she was curious to see what it was that Killian had down here. "If it is so secretive, why don’t you have someone guarding the door?" She asked, stepping inside the room full of books and weapons.

"Only I can open the door," Killian replied. He closed the door behind them after he entered and did not have to lock it. It was a special door he got from a powerful witch he met during his travels.

"I see," Amelia said, looking around the room full of random things. Things she had never seen a day in her life. "Where did you get all of this from?"

"I’ve spent years watching your kind and collecting things that intrigue me. Your kind might be weak, but they have their moments of creating things not even a demon would think of. Be careful. Some of them are older than your grandmother and great-grandmother" Killian said when Amelia tried to touch an old poem written by a human he met long, long ago.

Amelia pulled away her hand before she could touch the paper. "Sorry. So this is your room where you gather the things you like. So, should I ever be worried about one day ending up here? Or do the things you love stay in your bedroom?"

Killian licked his lips. "I don’t think I need to answer that question. I brought you here for this."

Amelia watched Killian walk past everything that intrigued her and went to a mirror. "A mirror is why you brought me here? It’s spectacular," she added so he wouldn’t be let down by her reaction.

"I can feel the disappointment in your voice. It is not a regular mirror. It is one from the underworld. I stole it from Lucifer," Killian said.

"Leave it to you to steal something from the devil. If he asks about a mirror, I will be a good wife and say that I have no idea where it is. So, what does it do?" Amelia asked, curious about the mirror now that she knew it belonged to Lucifer. Anything owned by the devil had to have something special about it. Especially if Killian stole it. "Uhm, let’s use the word borrow for this mirror."

Killian reached out and touched the mirror with his finger. Second later, their reflections disappeared and Alastor sending off some of the guests was seen.

"Ugh," Amelia’s mouth fell open as she tried to register the fact the mirror was showing them Alastor. "What? How? What?" She repeated again.

"It’s a special mirror Lucifer uses to spy on things in this world. He has two more of them which is why I believe he is not in need of this one. All you need to do is touch the mirror and think of who you wish to see. The mirror will locate the person no matter where they are. The only people this might not work on are Gods and witches. They happen to know when they are being watched and have the power to break the mirror," Killian explained.

"There is no way to get another mirror unless I steal another one from Lucifer. Only a few other Gods have a mirror and it would not be easy for me to go into their realms and steal from them. So be careful."

"I heard you the first time. You are like a parent continuously giving a child a warning. Can I try it now?" Amelia asked, excited to put it to use.

"Go ahead," Killian stepped to the side to give her space.

Amelia copied Killian by touching the mirror with her finger and thinking of someone. The image of Alastor faded away and was replaced by the image of Margaret sitting in a room full of people dressed in white. "She’s meeting with priests?" Amelia muttered.

"Quite a lot of them," Killian commented, counting the number of priests that were in view of what the mirror showed them. "Is she looking to fight the claims of her poisoning Fraser with the help of priests or is there another reason why she might be meeting with them?"

"Well, if she wants to fight against what Fraser and Cedric will accuse her of, she should use the temple. No matter what, the people listen to the temple. Still, I feel like there is something more. I can’t understand what grandmother is doing these days. Hopefully, the priests aren’t there for demons," Amelia said.

Since the priests had ways of killing demons, Amelia wanted them far away from Killian even though he would be able to protect himself. In the future, she might have to stay away from priests despite her connection to them through Margaret.

"It’s going to be hard telling her that I want to become a demon. I have someone else I want to see," Amelia said, touching the mirror once more.

The image switched to Fraser pacing back and forth while Beth stood with folded arms next to him.

"He got over the poison quickly. It was all a plot to get rid of my grandmother. What did you bring down here to see in this mirror?" Amelia asked since she had a feeling there was more to why Killian brought her here now instead of leaving this to the morning.

"We’re going to have some fun with your enemies before we head down to meet with the new king. Who would you like to see go first?" Killian asked.

Amelia thought about it for a moment and then said, "Cedric. He has a lot of allies around the kingdom and is one who will pull Fraser’s strings. He might make it possible for everyone to turn on my grandmother."

Killian touched the mirror and thought of Cedric. "What do you think is the biggest fear?" He asked.

"I don’t know," Amelia answered, taking a step back when the mirror started to shake while Killian continued to touch it. She squinted her eyes at the image of Cedric. It was hard to see at first, but she noticed a dark shadow looming around Cedric. She had a feeling it was Killian’s doing. "What did you do?"

"I sent him a little gift so we can figure out what his fears are. I sent a demon who can create illusions to make his fears come alive. We get to watch him slowly lose his mind," Kilian smiled.
