The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 228
Chapter 228: Chapter 228
"Only our bedroom is a safe place for me to talk without someone overhearing my conversation. Regardless of what Lucifer said, Agramon and others will try to disrupt my plans. I need something to stop demons from listening in to my conversations. It is the first thing I should have gotten when I came to the North. I don’t mind that it is coming from a witch anymore. I will need three spells," Amelia said.
One was for her use, for Gina, and Edith. She didn’t want to give one to Cyrus as yet since they were not speaking like normal these days. Though Cyrus was around her, they didn’t speak much. Edith was more aware of the things Amelia did than Cyrus which was odd since she didn’t know Edith long. It felt like Cyrus’s head was elsewhere.
"I can get one for you by nightfall. There is a witch who lives on the mountain but no, you cannot come with me to get the spells. It will be a quick trip for me. Do you care to go back into the throne room? They have already seen what you look like," Killian said.
"Are you trying to stop everyone from seeing how beautiful I look?" Amelia asked, seeing right through what Killian was doing. "You truly are a greedy demon," she laughed.
"And you should never forget it. I can spare a few more minutes of them looking at you but then I must take you back to our room-"
Amelia stepped forward to cover Killian’s mouth. She knew how he was but it was still a bit weird for her to listen to him mention such a thing in broad daylight. "You shouldn’t say that here," she said, looking around.
Killian removed Amelia’s hand from covering his mouth. "What are you talking about? We have demons from all over present in the castle right now. Many that I don’t trust. You should go back to your room to be safe while I weed out the ones I don’t trust. What were you thinking about?" He flicked her forehead.
"I ugh," Amelia paused. Why did he have to be thinking about something else to make her seem like the perverted one?
"Do you wish to have sex with me? Good because that was what I meant the first time," Killian smiled. It was always too easy to mess with her.
"Of course, you were teasing me," Amelia muttered, upset with herself for falling for it. "Keep it up and you’ll need somewhere else to sleep tonight," she warned, walking around Killian to go back to the throne room.
"Then you would only be punishing yourself. Remember, we were away from each other for a little and you missed my presence. It will be hard for you to go to sleep without me near you. You hold onto me so tightly when you sleep. Then there is the leg you place over me," Killian said, continuing to push her buttons.
Amelia did not believe a word that came out of Killian’s mouth now. She knew she was not the type to move around much while she slept and she certainly did not put her leg over him. Still, it was good to have Killian back to his playful side. "I am going to ignore you now. I would love to be a fly on a wall to see what is happening in the Blackwell castle."
...
Far away from the castle in the north, Beth watched from the sidelines as Fraser got dressed for his big day. The long wait was finally over and now she had the pleasure of witnessing Fraser be named King. Though they were preparing for this moment for days, Beth had to pinch herself many times as she did not believe it was true.
"Mother, were you able to change father’s mind about coming? He should see what his only child has accomplished," Fraser said, turining side to side to get a better look at his clothes in the mirror.
"No, he still does not wish to come," Beth replied. Margaret, being the person that she was, revealed to her husband her affair, and put the thought in his head that Fraser might not be his son. Beth wasn’t surprised Margaret went through with it, especially after the stunt she pulled by pretending to send a letter to Amelia. If anything, Beth was glad she no longer had to go home to a marriage she hardly cared for.
It was only late last night that she felt hurt that her husband no longer looked at her the same. She didn’t love him in the beginning. but she enjoyed many moments with him throughout the years.
"Who do you care for more? Me or your father?" Beth asked, slowly walking to where Fraser stood with a tailor that was making last-minute adjustments. She needed Fraser to always stay on her side.
"You, of course. You are the parent standing here with me now and you are the reason why it is possible for me to sit on the throne. I will have a word with my father after this. Your marriage problems have nothing to do with coming to see me today. Grandfather is already here, I heard. If grandfather can show up, so should father. I will always be on your side," Fraser promised. The only other person who always believed this day would come true was his mother.
"Good. No one has been taking care of you as I have. If your father shows up today, speak with him if he approaches you around other people. He might be childish and make an appearance though he said he was not coming. All eyes are watching you today and the last thing I want is for anyone to think you are rude," Beth said, motioning for the tailor to leave so she could fix Fraser’s hair.
"I know. I hope Margaret will not show up today. Last I saw, she was fuming because of what is being said about Amelia," Fraser grinned. His plan was working out perfectly.
