Chapter 207: Chapter 207

"How can I be this golden child? Isn’t there enough on my plate already? I don’t need to add a potential blessing or a curse to the list. How can you tell?" Amelia asked out of curiosity. What did Killian see to make the assumption that she was this proclaimed golden child? She was also curious how long he had assumed that she was.

"I noticed it a little while after we met. It wasn’t noticeable at first but there was a glow to you and a weird energy coming from you. Like I wasn’t around a regular human," Killian replied. He couldn’t see now that he looked at her. It came and went as it liked.

"Still, I am normal right? I have two normal parents. At least I think I do," Amelia added since her mother was proving to have a hidden side to her.

"I told you. It’s the Gods picking a random person to be on this path. You are still normal. It is only that your actions will affect a lot of people. Since you are a Queen now, it is only natural your ruling will affect others so you must make good decisions," said Killian. It could be for his people, the people of the Blackwell kingdom, or somewhere she had not traveled to yet.

"I plan to be a good Queen and not a tyrant so there shouldn’t be a problem with me doing something really bad to our people. I can’t say the same for anyone who tries to attack us."

"Well," Killian smiled as the future could not be predicted. "What you like today can change tomorrow."

Amelia stared at Killian as his words settled in her mind. "Honestly, I would have preferred if you did not tell me about this. On one hand, I like that you are not hiding something you know but on the other hand, I would rather not know about this because it will weigh on my mind. I already think a lot about what kind of Queen I would be and now I have to think about being entertainment for Gods."

"Don’t overthink your actions in the future. Just do what you would have done if you did not know about this. It’s best that you are aware of what you are so no one else can bring it up to you and force you to do something in exchange for answers. I have a good eye so I noticed it early. The devil will also be able to tell and as time goes on, even the weakest demon will see there is something special about you," said Killian.

"Will anyone try to take me? Is there anything special about me that they would want to have?" Amelia asked as she needed to know if she should be on guard more.

"Everyone doesn’t know much about these golden children. There was once a child picked by the Gods and he went down a dark path, leaving death behind him. When he died and fell into the underworld, there was a bright light. A God came to take him out of the underworld but the devil didn’t allow it. Demons might think they can take you and use you as leverage against the Gods to get something," Killian explained.

Killian continued to say, "I don’t think the Gods care that much to give something in exchange for you. If they did, they would have fought with the devil to take the other ones back. So yes, there will be stupid people who think they can make deals with Gods in exchange for you."

"Wonderful," Amelia sarcastically muttered. "That’s just one big headache for you."

"Me?" Killian didn’t see how it would be a headache for him. "They are not after me."

"I know but you will have to be watching out for people who want to harm me more. Even though I added two other guards, it is only you and Cyrus that I trust for my safety. When are you going to train me to at least use a knife? There will be moments when I might be without guards or you nearby," Amelia said, wanting to take training more seriously now.

It wasn’t every day women were taught how to use weapons but she did not want to have her life in the hands of others. She believed royalty should know how to use at least one weapon.

"Your first lesson will be now," Killian said, standing up to get a knife from one of the bags Edith packed. It was a simple knife meant for bread but it would do for now.

Amelia wasn’t sure about using a knife right away. "How about a stick to start off? I don’t want to try stabbing you with a knife," she said.

"Why did you assume I wanted you to try stabbing me with this?" Killian asked, pretending to be puzzled even though this was what he had planned.

Amelia realized how bad it might have sounded to Killian. "I am sorry," she apologized.

"Why are you apologizing when you were correct? Use that anger to try stabbing me. The house will be your training ground. Try not to fall while you try to stab me," Killian said, handing her the knife for her to get started.

Amelia could not take how much Killian liked to play around. He would soon regret putting a knife in her hands and asking her to try stabbing him. "You cannot use any demon skills to get away from me," she took the knife from Killian and quickly got to her feet.

"Amelia, you shouldn’t look so happy to stab your husband. Nice try," Killian complimented her first failed attempt. He could already see what they would need to work on.

Killian kept watching her eyes which looked at where she wanted to attack before she made a move. Killian shifted his body to get out of reach right as she aimed to stab him. She was too predictable with her actions and was looking at parts of his body instead of all of him. Though she was recklessly moving the knife quickly, she wasn’t able to get near him.

Killian avoided another one of her attacks and raised his left foot up to hit Amelia on the thigh and send her in the other direction. This added to her frustration from not being able to at least scratch him. "What’s taking so long?" Killian asked, effortlessly moving around the table to get away from Amelia. He placed his hands behind his back as there was no need to try pushing her away.

"Just stay still for once," Amelia grumbled. It looked like Killian was moving in slow motion but no matter how fast she moved, she could not land a hit on him.

A thought came to mind to outsmart Killian and bring him to her.

"Ow," Amelia winced and stopped chasing Killian to look at her hand. "Shit," she cursed, keeping her head low so she could see his feet. "Got you," Amelia tried to stab him once more when he was near but it only ended with Killian grabbing her hand.

"You are too predictable. Try this instead. Stab me here," Killian placed his right hand down on the table and handed Amelia back the knife. "I won’t move my hand."
