"You’re supposed to be making up for last night but you have hardly spoken to me since we left the castle. You can not be that mad at me for mentioning those books? If you read and enjoy them, you should not be embarrassed when someone mentions them," Killian said, not putting together what the big deal was.

"It is one thing for you to bring up those books to me but it is another for you to acknowledge that Gina reads them especially when she is present. I cannot stop picturing how embarrassed she was and how quickly she got out of our room. You need to apologize to her when we go home. I know demons have their ways but that wasn’t fun for her. Please," Amelia pleaded with him.

Gina had rushed out of the room so quickly that Amelia had no time to explain Killian had found out about those books on his own.

"If it will make us move past this then I have a problem apologizing. Now," he held her hand to bring her closer to him. "Are things better between us?"

"Nothing was amiss with us. I just felt bad for Gina. I will get her a few dresses and food to make her feel better. It always works for me. So," Amelia looked at the small house Edith prepared for them to use.

When you went from looking at a castle to the house Edith spoke of you really got to see just how really small it was.

"There isn’t enough space for us to run away from each other here. I hope we get to know each other in the time we stay here. We should take the food inside first," Amelia suggested, reaching down to pick up the food Edith asked the cook for but Killian beat her to it.

"Just have a look around," Killian said, picking up the few bags they brought with them. From the heaviness of the one bag Amelia had, one would mistake if she was actually staying here for more than one day.

"I am not weak. I can lift one to help you. Honey," Amelia added after she realized her tone was too defensive but she cringed from the nickname that left her lips.

Killian wasn’t expecting to be given such a sappy nickname as other couples did with each other. "That took a year off of your life?" He asked, knowing it was hurting her to say just as much as it was odd for him to hear it.

Amelia nodded her head and covered her face with her hands.

"Enjoy the outside a little bit more while I put down the bags, honey," he smirked, finding it hard to miss the opportunity to tease her.

"Just go inside," Amelia playfully pushed him inside the house. She did not understand how couples could say those nicknames with a straight face or smile so lovingly at each other when they said it.

Amelia pulled her coat closer to block out the cold air of the mountain. Looking ahead, she saw the castle in the far distance, and on the left was a small cloud of smoke coming from the village she had visited before. She was getting better at remembering where each village was and how to get to the castle.

As much as Amelia was used to life in a castle, she preferred to take a break and though this trip was mainly for Killian, she planned to enjoy not having to act like royalty in front of anyone.

"What are you thinking about?" Killian touched her shoulders when he returned to stand behind her. Unlike Amelia, he didn’t wear a coat as his body was warm even in the cold.

"That we can be ourselves here. Have you taken in all the bags?" She looked to her right where the bags were placed when they first flew here with Edith. Killian made them disappear in their bedroom to a random spot in the mountain then flew up out of sight from anyone around.

"I have," Kilian replied, trailing his hands down from her shoulder to settle on her waist. "What do you have in mind now or did you bring me out here without a plan?"

"The second one. I planned to do whatever you wanted. This is my way of making up to you for last night. I want to be more trusting of you and not snap at you."

Killian kept his left hand around her waist and used the right to push her chin up to make her look at him. "And what if I like this side of you that snaps? I am not angered by your reaction last night or anything else. It will take some time for you to get used to me. You did not have feelings for me in the first place. You married me to save your people. I don’t mind if you are guarded while you try to figure me out. I am a complicated person you will never figure out."

"Thank you for acknowledging that. It is not easy to go from thinking of you as the war demon who killed many of our guards to then see you as a caring husband. I want to match your kindness and the trust you have in me. Let’s start with if there is anything I say or do that you do not like, you tell me," she suggested.

"How about I punish you instead?" Killian asked.

"You really are a horny demon."

"I planned to fly you around and enjoy your fear but please tell me what came to your mind as a punishment. I shall do my best to fulfill your desires," Killian promised, keeping her face still with his hand so she could not look away from him.

Amelia blushed as her mind did think of something sexual as a punishment. She didn’t fully believe Killian was not alluding to a sexual punishment. "You are toying with me," she muttered.

"You caught me," Killian cheekily smiled. "If you are willing to do whatever I want to make up for last night, then there must be no objections."

"I won’t as long as you don’t ask me to do the impossible. Anything you wish to know you can ask today and I will honestly answer you," Amelia promised. Even if Killian tried asking about anything which would either upset or make her embarrassed, she would tell him with only the truth.

"What a wonderful gift this is. Whoever said there is nothing that sounds sweeter than the lies of demons would change their mind when they meet you. I better make the most of this day with you listening to me. Follow me," he released her.

"We are not going inside?" Amelia frowned, confused when Killian started to walk away from the house. She would have bet money that Killian would choose to be intimate as soon as they arrived.

"It is a waste of daylight to stay inside."
