The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 188
Chapter 188: Chapter 188
Killian lunged forward with ease to grab Fraser’s throat. Amelia was used to the back and forth with Fraser but he was not. He had tolerated it long enough.
Gasps filled the room and everyone on the Blackwell side, except for Margaret, stood up to try to reason with Killian to let go of Fraser.
"All of you seem to forget that I spared your lives. I am still angered by what your previous king did to my people and you are slow to help find the rest of my people turned into slaves. I can break your neck right now," Killian said, proving his words by tightening his hold on Fraser, ignoring the sounds coming from his mouth. "I put you in the position you are in now because there was no one else at the time. Had I known you were so irritating I would have just killed you."
Fraser touched Killian’s hands to try prying it off but he was weaker in comparison to Killian who was like a beast.
"None of you get to make demands with the north. You still view us as inferior to your kingdom but it is your kind who are weaker. I have my reasons for disliking you but if my wife is disrespected one more time my army shall storm your land and cover it in blood. Do you understand?" Killian asked but his current hold on Fraser made it hard for a response to be given.
"We understand," Margaret answered in place of Fraser. "You can make a truce completely on your terms. All we require is the north not invading our land."
"Lady Margaret!" Lucas called as it was not what they had planned. They needed to get something more out of this union. They no longer had to fear the north as their army was more prepared now. They could even attack Killian now to get rid of him. That was his plan from the beginning but Cedric was against it.
Lucas wanted Killian killed the moment Amelia became queen so a Blackwell would have half the throne. They would figure out who got to replace Amelia in ruling the north later.
They looked weak by letting Killian grab their future king and they could do nothing but stand here. This was why they were trying so hard to not let other kingdoms know everything about the north taking over their kingdom. They had not even started the traditional send off for Richard which should have been done the day after he died. There was something suspicious about Richard’s death and how a man like Killian killed him.
"We are not in the right place to make demands with the north. When in history have you heard of a king taking over a castle and leaving the royals alive to continue as they were? We should be grateful to still be breathing. Do not have swords pointed to our necks right now," Margaret replied.
Of all the things she witnessed in her many years, a potential war starting at a wedding had never happened before and there were quite a few times when it should have. Amelia was already not enjoying her wedding and now she had to deal with this mess. A fuming husband and an idiot cousin.
’It is time to dispose of him,’ Margaret thought as she watched Fraser struggle to be released by Killian. She wished Killian would just snap Fraser’s neck so they wouldn’t have to deal with a fool on the throne even for just a second.
To her dismay, Killian released Fraser. The red outline of his fingers were evident where he had gripped Fraser.
Killian looked down on the pathetic excuse he had picked to sit on the throne. If not for his interest in Amelia, he would have put her on the throne but he needed a fool he could quickly dispose of when it was time for his first born to be given a throne. Fraser made an easy target to kill with barely having to lift a finger.
"I will give you two days to send a signed truce to the north along with the rest of my people still in your slave trade that I am aware you have not made much effort to abolish. If you fail to do these two simple tasks I won’t entertain a truce and I will return to your land to get the rest of my people," Killian said in a calm tone despite his anger.
Before anything more could be discussed or he could be annoyed to the point of slaughtering everyone present and stain the lovely dress Amelia wore, he held her hand once more and left.
Amelia looked at her grandmother who appeared just as tired of this as she was. There was a lot on her mind but with the people present it would only go in one ear and out the other. ’Why did I think we woule get somewhere today?’ she thought as she walked behind Killian and Alastor right behind her.
It was apparent now that Cedric had more followers in the court than she thought. Cedric wasn’t a fool so Amelia could not understand why he would not advise Fraser to not act a fool at this meeting. Did he want to see Fraser die?
"Killian, as much as I want to get away from here just as fast as you do, you are hurting my hand. I am not immune to pain like you are," Amelia reminded Killian of her fragile body.
Killian released her hand now that he was aware of the strength he used to hold her. "I’m sorry," he apologized, angered once more by the redness on her wrist. "Alastor, see to it they get off our land within an hour. Take Fraser’s head first if they take my threat lightly."
Alastor left their side to keep an eye on the Blackwells movement. He would love for them to go over that hour to turn this into a wedding he could enjoy.
"Killian," Amelia touched his arm. "Please find a blind spot and fly us home."
