Chapter 134: Chapter 134
"I don’t know if I can trust you to stay put in this room. Yes, you don’t want to die," Killian quickly spoke when Amelia opened her mouth to argue. "But curiosity makes people do stupid things. You can come with me."
Amelia’s eyes widened for a moment out of shock. With all the whispering done by the front door, she didn’t think he would allow her to join wherever he was going. She could not reject going since she was curious as he said. "It is not curiosity but stupidity that you spoke of. I am not stupid," she clarified.
"We will see in the coming days if that is true. Many people like you have died because of stupidity. I don’t want that to happen to you. I’ll have to spend another hundred years waiting for a human to excite me. Come," he left the balcony first.
Amelia followed behind Killian thinking about the past humans who amused him. Were they all women? Not that she was jealous. She only wished to know how it was that these past people amused him. Her grandmother was the same but he did not try to marry her. She didn’t think a demon would care not to try to steal a woman away from her husband. Killian had technically pulled her out of an arranged marriage set up by her father.
’It cannot just be that I threw a shoe at him. Gina said men are into weird things but still. Can it just be that he is attracted to me? Makes sense,’ Amelia nodded her head, taking pride in her good looks.
"Should I be wary that you seem to be mentally plotting something?" Killian asked after he noticed her silence then a smile as she nodded her head. He wouldn’t be that sad if she tried to kill him. It would be entertaining. A little tussle over a knife would be a good start to a marriage.
"I wasn’t planning. I am not almost masterminding some grand scheme. Where are we going?" Amelia changed the subject.
They had exited their bedroom and were heading toward what she recalled was the combat area. The sounds of weapons clashing against each other and people grunting could be heard in the distance.
"Trouble seems to be brewing in the castle. Today won’t be quiet after all. Agramon is aware of our marriage. He might’ve been in the underworld when news of a human here was going around. Now he knows. Rest assured, we are not going to meet with him now," Killian said to ease her mind.
As always, Agramon did not come to face Killian himself. He sent one of his followers to deliver his opinion of the wedding. To catch Killian’s attention, they were stirring up trouble where the men and women were training.
"I wouldn’t have minded seeing him. I want to know what he looks like and I want to change his perception of me. Not everyone might dislike me because I am not a demon but they might view me as unworthy of you. You are known as the war demon but I am just a princess. I have not accomplished anything yet. I will be known as more than your wife one day and prove that I was the right choice for you," said Amelia.
"How do you intend to do that? Will you join me in any battle that arrives?" Killian said, not to mock her but genuinely find out what she was planning.
"I would be a fool to try proving myself in a battle. I’d be dead from the first strike of the enemy. I can say that I have excellent strategic planning that was never utilized. I used to create my own battle plans with updates Cyrus gave me. I presented them to my father to help our side but they were never used. No, one was but I was never given credit. Such is life," Amelia shrugged.
She stopped presenting her plans after her father refused to take them seriously so she might be a little bit rusty. Amelia had no experience knowing if they would be that successful but she would like to help Killian.
"I will use my common sense to make a name for myself. I want to remember the expressions of those who doubt me and enjoy how they will change in the future. Still," Amelia paused as the men and women training came into view. "I want to learn how to fight as soon as possible. With a husband known as the war demon, I should know how to hold a knife or sword and properly use it."
"We can start as soon as we are finished here. A private room will be best to avoid you dying of embarrassment," Killian replied.
He heard up his left arm in the air when he sensed approaching them from above. To Amelia’s surprise, a falcon landed on his hand. There was a note tied around the bird’s leg which Killian took and the bird flew away right after.
Killian read the note first then informed Amelia, "I’m afraid we will have to hold off on your training for now. Alastor has sent a message that they will be arriving at the castle gates shortly. They didn’t take many stops. You will need to inform your friends of our secret quickly."
"Oh right. I will need a chair and some rope. Gina will run and scream bloody murder out of this castle and try to make her way back home-"
"This is home," Kilian corrected Amelia.
"Sorry. It will take a while to get used to calling her home. I am still processing this is where I now live. There is a man watching us. Is that who you came to meet?" Amelia asked.
She had spotted a man with waist-length white hair who didn’t care to hide his red eyes. The man was staring directly at her like he couldn’t wait to pounce and kill her.
