The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 114

Chapter 114: Chapter 114

"Alastor, watch her," Killian ordered his right-hand man.

"Sure," Alastor muttered, annoyed he would not be able to join in the fight. He did not leave the north just to offer Killian advice he was not listening to.

"Um, doesn’t he need a sword?" Amelia asked Alastor out of concern when Killian approached the gates without a weapon in his hands or on him.

"Have you already forgotten who your husband-to-be is?" Alastor replied in a bored tone. "These weak people do not require a lot of skill for him to take down and if he wants a weapon, he’ll take it. Just like that," he said at the same time Killian busted open the gates and stole a sword from one of the men inside then turned around and stabbed him with it.

"You should turn around if you do not wish to see," Alastor paused, surprised by the sight of the princess beside him. He expected her to be afraid of the sight of Killian mercilessly killing anyone standing in his way but to Alastors surprise, the princess looked entertained by it. When she bit her lip, he had an idea of what was running through her head.

Amelia was amazed by how easily Killian had fought his way inside the gates. Turned out, he did not like the comment about being called a brute. Today she got to see a glimpse of why he was called the war demon. People were right to bite their tongues whenever Killian was in their presence.

"Ha," she could not refrain from laughing when Killian dragged Luke by his feet toward the same gate he had closed a moment ago. It was exciting to see that the man who did not listen to her orders a moment ago was now screaming like a newborn baby as Killian dragged him. ’Instead of being like Killian, I should learn to control my future husband,’ she thought.

If she could use Killian to get rid of her enemies she would be unstoppable. She did not have the physical strength to make anyone afraid of her. She only had her common sense to outsmart them but with Killian by her side ready to kill anyone, she was not lacking in the strength department.

"Here," Killian tossed Luke to her feet. His lower body and arms were covered in splashes of blood.

Amelia looked down at the man with a pleading look for her to forgive him. "Begging looks nice on you, Luke Fisher. Keep doing it all the way back to the castle dungeon. You must tell us everything you know about where the slaves are. One lie out of you and I will not refrain Killian from killing you. Do you understand?"

"Y-Yes," Luke cried. It was not supposed to go like this. His friends who had a hand in this business were meant to show up and offer him more men to fight. He was only supposed to hold on for a little bit more. Why had no one shown up? Now all of his precious goods would be taken anyway.

Amelia turned to Alastor and said, "You can take him back to the dungeon in the castle. I cannot trust he will not escape our guards if I let them take him and the rest of Killian’s men are busy going into the house to free everyone. I am not trying to order you around-"

"That’s alright," Alastor bent down and picked up the pathetic man. He had nothing better to do anyway. "I will take care of it."

"Oh. Thank you," Amelia replied, genuinely surprised Alastor was going what she asked of him after it was clear he disliked her.

"He judged my decision for picking you as my wife only for him to warm up to you in the end," said Killian. He knew it wouldn’t have been long before Alastor would see why he took an interest in Amelia.

Amelia looked at all the blood that coated Killian and then at the people who were watching them. Most of them were horrified by the sight of what happened. She could tell they were judging her for letting it all happen but she did not care. All that mattered were the innocent people hidden away inside Luke’s home.

"You need to wash up before going back to the castle. I don’t need you scaring the servants there too. There is a place for you to wash up nearby that is away from prying eyes. Get the horse and follow me. Why are you smiling?" Amelia asked after a smile spread across his face.

"Nothing. You have left quite a few people here stunned including me. Come with me. I cannot trust one of these people won’t try approaching you," Killian stated.

Amelia followed Killian back to the horse they had ridden here but this time, she was the only one to sit on the horse as Killian did not want to get blood on her. He walked beside the horse while Amelia led him to a private place for him to wash off. He kept an ear out for anyone following them and for once, the people here were smart as he heard no one following him.

"Will we go back to Luke’s home when we are finished?" Amelia asked.

"No, my men will take care of it. I will inform you of what they found when I return to the castle. I have found the majority of my people that were recorded as taken but the slave trade seems to involve many of your own people. You need to leave someone you trust to finish destroying the trade. I have done my part by saving my people."

Amelia already knew Killian would have stopped once he saved all the people he came looking for. It was up to the Blackwell kingdom to save their own people. Fraser would have to deal with the matter. She hoped they had not gone through all of this just for Fraser to bring it back.

"There’s the stream. It connects to where we were last time when you know," Amelia hinted when he had killed the gang that followed them. "You can wash up. I will tie the horse and wait here until you are done," she slid off the horse herself.

"You do not want to watch?"

Amelia blushed because of the bluntness of his tone. Normally there would be a moment like this in the books Gina would read. Of course, she would love to see the real-life moment of the male lead stripping but as a princess, she had to refrain from doing anything indecent before her marriage. "No thank you."

"You should know Amelia, I can feel someone’s lust because it is one of what we call the seven deadly sins in the underworld. It has not been that evident since we met but right now, it is practically radiating from you. We are to wed anyway. There is no force in the world to break our engagement. Don’t you want to feel what it would be like when we are married?"

Amelia continued to back Killian and tied the horse to a tree as she remembered this was just a demon trying to tempt her. Of course, he would love for her to break the rules the temple had about couples and marriage.

She remained quiet and after she heard water splashing around, she figured Killian had given up. Amelia stood up by the horse waiting for Killian to be done with cleaning up himself so they could head back to the castle and hear what Luke had to say.

"Princess."

Amelia tensed up when she felt Killian right behind her. His footsteps were light despite his large frame. "Are you finished? Can I turn around now?"

Amelia gulped when she felt his hands on her face. His hands were warm though the water he had washed off with had to be cold.

"How much longer do you plan to ignore the obvious attraction you have for me because you are afraid of what others will say about you? I do not care about what my people will say for marrying a human," said Killian.

It was starting to be annoying how she denied the attraction that was between them. It was nothing romantic, just sexual desires toward each other that could lead to feelings. It was bound to happen between two good-looking people.

"It is easier for me than it is for you," Amelia muttered. She wanted to step out of Killian’s reach and just return to the castle but she found herself unable to move. "It would be odd to others if I show interest in the man who was just our enemy. I do not want to deal with their stares and questions right now."

"So I need to wait for us to wed for you to not worry about what other people think? When it is just the two of us, you should be able to be open with what you feel," Killian said as he lifted her chin to make her look up at him.

Amelia stared up at the handsome man who had just slaughtered others a moment ago. She had to admit there was some sexual attraction between them though she did not love him. She had no intention of being intimate with him before their wedding but a kiss could not hurt.
