Killian, having no idea what was so special about the books, remained silent trying to get an idea of what was going on.

"Mother, what on earth could you be hiding to create your diary into a bedtime story for me?" Amelia muttered as it felt like her mother knew someone else would want her diaries so she hid them.

At the moment, Amelia could only think of her father wanting them to see if she had written about an affair. Her memory was not the best but Amelia remembered the stories of having crazy adventures and if they were real, there were a lot of secrets about the castle she had always known as a child.

"I would need to figure out who is what character," she whispered.

"Is there something I can help you with? I don’t understand a word of what you are saying," Killian petted Loki as he spoke. The wolf was surprisingly well-behaved today so he had to wonder if it was because of Amelia.

Amelia contemplated whether or not she should let Killian know what this was for. They were not married yet so it should be fine right now to hide this from him. Do not lie, only hide something. "No. I will get Gina and Cyrus to help me. You must be busy collecting the slaves. Please remember to check for the woman Cyrus has been trying to find. Oh, if my cousin comes talking to you about-"

"You have a lot of requests but I never get anything in return," said Killian.

"You show that I can trust you and I will find myself being more comfortable around you," Amelia replied.

"I find that you are already comfortable with me, princess. There is nothing else I need to do. Yet again, if you want something from me, you must pay the price," Killian tapped his cheek.

Amelia muttered, "Of course, it would be skin-to-skin contact."

"You should know that my kind has a high sex drive compared to people like you. I am attracted to you and vice versa. Until we are married, I will settle for a simple kiss on the cheek. That seems fair, doesn’t it?"

Amelia didn’t agree with his words. "Your sex drive has nothing to do with me. I will not be paying you a kiss for your help."

"Oh but it does have everything to do with you. You will know on our first night how much it has to do with you. Since you are busy, I will continue on my way. I have to oversee the men packing up to head back to the north. You need to inform me when your things are ready so they can start collecting them. See you soon," Killian bowed to Amelia and then left.

With red cheeks, Amelia muttered, "How can he causally mention sex and then walk away? I can’t believe I will have to sleep with such a man. He is good-looking but I wonder if," her face flushed even more as a thought came to mind.

"Princess!" Gina ran to Amelia’s side after Killian had left. She had spotted Amelia but since Killian approached her first, Gina had waited in the sidelines. "Are you alright?" Gina questioned after seeing how red Amelia’s face was. She was mindful to not go to the side where the wolf was.

"Gina, I am now realizing the size of the man I have to sleep with," Amelia whispered as she hid her face.

This was a conversation that intrigued Gina. Completely forgetting about the wolf, she stepped close to Amelia and asked, "Did you see how big his penis was?"

"What?" Amelia looked up at Gina, confused as to why that was asked. "I meant his frame, Gina. How on earth would I have seen how big," she looked around to make sure no one was around. She knew the other northerners would be able to hear their conversation but it was already too late. "That is?"

"Well, you two are always sneaking off so I figured something would have happened by now. You can be honest with me, Amelia. I won’t tell anyone about it. I know that he is your future husband and he honestly scares me but sometimes I find myself wondering what it would feel like to be with a man like him. Honestly, I am worried for you."

"Why?" Amelia asked. She was already worried for herself and now here was Gina being worried for her.

"It’s like you said. He has such a big frame which means it has to be big and he is no stranger to the battlefield which means he must have a lot of energy. Plus, he seems to be the type to enjoy a little roughness. Then there’s you who has no clue about intimacy and it will just be you and him alone in the room on your wedding night. His penis alone might scare you," Gina chuckled as she imagined the sight of Amelia passing out.

Amelia glared at Gina for making her more concerned than she needed to be. Until now, she had never thought or realized the fact she one day had to share a bed with Killian in that way. She knew heirs had to be made but she had not thought about the process. Amelia might need all the strength in the world that night.

"Let’s talk about something else for a moment. You have excellent timing for coming to me now. We have to head back to the privacy of my room for this. While we walk, inform me of anything interesting you have heard from the other maids," said Amelia.

"Interesting things?" Gina tapped her shoulder and began to walk beside Amelia. "Oh, I heard that Annabelle is throwing a tantrum and won’t let the maids inside her room. That is why you have not seen or heard a word from her lately. She’s breaking things inside her room. At first, we all thought she had given up on her child becoming king and living a quiet life but that is far from the case."

Amelia did find it odd for Annabelle to be quiet for so long. "I hope she is not expecting that her screams and cries will make anyone change Fraser being the new king and crown her unborn child to make her happy. She should calm down for the sake of her baby. Anything else?"

"Earlier, I saw your aunt and her father-in-law in a lone corner like they were arguing about something. They have seen me by your side so I did not try going closer to avoid being caught. I’m sorry," Gina apologized for not being able to give Amelia more news.

"You did the right thing. I don’t want the two of them to feel like I am spying on them. They will all turn on each other trying to control Fraser. I don’t like Fraser but I can tell he will not allow his grandfather to control him. If there is any more news I must know, please remember to tell me," said Amelia. She had been too busy with packing to pay attention to what was going on in the castle today.

"Princess, please have Leonard watch your grandmother and take me with you. The enemies forming inside the castle are too strong for me to be of any help to her. I promise to behave well in the north. I will not mess up as I do sometimes here. If you won’t let me, I will convince your husband-to-be to let me come," Gina decided to switch up her tactic.

Amelia could not picture Gina being bold enough to approach Killian and ask to join them in the north. If Gina could summon the courage to speak with Killian and get his approval, she deserved to come along as that would be brave of her. "If you can convince Killian to let you come along, I will not stop you. Don’t even think of trying to fool me as I will confirm with Killian."

Gina jumped up and down from excitement as she was close to joining Amelia in the north. Amelia underestimated how much courage she could build up to speak with Killian if it meant going to the north. "I will speak with him right after what you need me for. Prepare to have me in the north with you, princess. Where is Cyrus?" Gina quickly changed the topic to the empty spot where Cyrus normally stood.

"He has left to take care of personal matters. He deserves a break to take time for himself. Come inside quickly," Amelia opened the door for Gina to go inside. After Gina hurried inside, Amelia let Loki enter and then stepped inside, closing the door behind them and locking it. "You will know more people in the castle than I do so you should be able to assign characters with real people."

"What?" Gina asked, confused by what Amelia meant.

Amelia placed the basket of items on a table and handed Gina one of the storybooks. "Read this book and tell me who the characters remind you of."
