The Three Who Chose Me -
Chapter 28: An Unexpected Passion
Chapter 28: An Unexpected Passion
Josie
I stumbled behind Thorne as he pulled me to the elevator, his grip firm on my wrist.
My heart was thudding heavily, my skin flushed from the intensity of his gaze while we danced together.
He jammed his hand on the elevator button, and as it slid open, he pulled me inside.
I was slammed against the wall, but gently, a strong arm holding me in place. Almost like a softball.
I watched wide-eyed as he reached up and pressed multiple buttons on the wall, my heart ramming against my chest, knots twisted in my stomach.
"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered, splaying my clammy palms against the elevator wall.
He turned to me, a smirk on his lips. "You’ll see," he replied in a gruff voice. "I simply want to do this all night."
He whined around and pressed a few more buttons. And there was a slight rumble in the engines within, a steady alarm ringing in my head now.
My breath was hitches, my vision blurred.
He turned to me then, a predatory glint in his eyes as he came towards me.
I tried to run, back away.
But the only way I could go was right, or left. And everywhere I moved, he went with me. Until he was crowding me in with his warmth, his scent wrapping around my senses and dulling them.
I stood there like a starving dog, my breath raspy, my eyes drooped as I stared up at him, my fingers pressing into my palms.
Slowly, he reached up and snaked a hand around my neck, pulling me close.
And in the twinkle of an eye, his lips were on mine. Devouring. Ravaging.
There was nothing gentle about the way he kissed me. And boy, I fought to keep up.
I was heavily aroused in seconds, my nipples pushing against the silk fabric, blistering heat scattering across my skin.
Soon, my fingers were grappling the lapels of his jacket, pulling him closer. I wanted more, I was gasping for more. I was moaning for more—good heavens.
His kiss was nothing like Kiel’s. It was not slow fire. It was urgent, demanding, scalding. A coalition of controlled heat and tension.
Heat pooled between my legs, warm liquid leaking out of my panties.
I trembled from the heady pleasure, and he held me so tight I had no fear of slipping to the floor.
I kissed him back fiercely, my lips nibbling and sucking his. I didn’t know I could kiss like that, so desperately.
I didn’t know I could want to drink someone so much.
My hands roamed every plane of his hard board, his erection, thick and bulging pressing into my lower abdomen.
In one fluid movement, he jerked me off my feet and locked my legs around his hips, his rough hands grazing across my front.
Flicking my nipples. Teasing. Pinching.
A throaty moan slipped out of my lips as I arched against him, little stars of pleasure bursting open in my head.
His hands slid down my front, grabbing fistfuls of my silky dress and bunching it up.
I gasped, the graze of his warm fingers sending tingles across my skin.
"You can’t even imagine, Josie," he murmured against my lips, his eyes dark and heavy with desire as he stared down at me, "all the things I want to do to you."
He slid his thumb roughly across my bottom lip, tilting my chin up.
I stared at him through glazed eyes, my breath raspy. My head was throbbing with need, the spot between my legs aching and pulsing with my juices.
It was clammy down there, I could feel it as his erection rubbed into me.
The sensation sent my eyes rolling backwards, my fingers pressing into his arm.
A growl tore out of his lips and he crashed his lips down on mine again.
I was just getting comfortable in the heady sensation, embracing it, when he suddenly pulled away, heaving me down on my feet.
He cleared his throat and adjusted his tie, glancing over at me with a silent urge to do the same.
I was quickly called back to my senses, my hand flying to adjust my silk dress that was still in disarray, riding up my thighs. My hair was a mess in the reflection, and I gasped seeing it that way, reaching up to tousle the curls a little attractively.
The elevator dinged just then, and I heaved up to realize we were back on the party floor.
Just how did he do this?
He walked out before me, leaving me to trail before him and hide my face from the faces of the guests that stared at us, at me, like they could see right through the hurriedly put-together dress and hair. Like they knew what Thorne and I had done in there.
I cleared my throat, increasing my pace. "I’ll quickly use the restroom," I said to Thorne and quickly scurried away before he could protest.
I felt the guards scurry after me seconds later, and I rolled my eyes.
Of course he wouldn’t let me run off on my own. His possessive ass couldn’t handle that.
I quickly washed my hands in the sink, replaying the insane kiss I’d just had with Thorne in that elevator.
I couldn’t believe I could kiss like that. Thorne had brought out a feral side of me I never knew was there. A hungry side.
Kiel had only come so close.
But Thorne...he’d passed the fucking bad. Pulling me with him.
I dried my hands and fixed the tousles atop my hair again.
Satisfied with the better looking reflection, I stepped out of the restroom. But I collided against a hard wall instead.
Alpha Jake stood there, a smirk on his lips as he reached to grab my arms, steadying me.
"Easy there," he crooned, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Let me go," I spat, trying to snatch my hand away. "Why are you here again?"
He scoffed, a wicked glint in his eyes. "I’m only here to get a piece of that ass, sweetheart. The same one the Whistle-downs are crazy ab—"
"Please move away from, Alpha Jake," one of the guards stepped menacingly, not minding the difference in status.
Jake glared at him for a while, his jaw twitching. Then he took a few steps back from me, to my surprise.
The guard walked over to me and med me away, back to the party.
And the moment Thorne’s eyes fell on my eyes, my heart did a little somersault thing.
His eyes narrowed into slits, suspicion glinting in them. Then I watched as he excused himself and came over to me.
"What is the matter?" he demanded, his hand closing around my arm as he pulled me close.
"I think I’m tired," I murmured, averting my gaze from his. "I just want to go back home."
He nodded. "Alright. We’ll be out of here in a minute."
He pulled with him as he walked over to the couple of the day, who stood at the front.
"Logan," he greeted the groom with a slap on his back, and I watched as the two men shared a quick embrace. "Congrats, man."
Logan, the groom, nodded, his lips stretched in a smile.
"Thanks, man." He glanced over at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "She your girl?"
Thorne nodded, turning to look at me. "That’s right."
"Damn, man. You always go for the best, don’t you?"
I almost rolled my eyes at the compliment, wondering if that had been a compliment or an insult in disguise.
Because what exactly was ’best’, about me?
Thorne nodded, turning bis eyes on the bride. "Congratulations," he said to her. "Logan’s a lucky man."
A few more pleasantries were exchanged in under a few minutes, and finally, Thorne retrieved a small box from his jacket pocket.
"A small gift," he said, pushing it in Logan’s fingers, "on behalf on myself and my girl here."
He took my hand, linking our fingers.
"Happy married life, man," he added, straightening. "We’ll be on our way now."
The two men threw a quick salute at each other, and Thorne sauntered out of the hall, pulling me behind him.
I was amazed at the way he swung me out of harms way as we walked down the lag-crowded halls, his actions intentional, even when I thought he wasn’t being attentive.
We soon got to our car and he held the open as I got in.
"Tell me what happened back in the restroom, Josie," he said the moment he settled in the backseat, next to me. "And don’t think of lying to me."
Damn. I thought he’d forgotten that.
I swallowed a lump in my throat.
He glared at me, waiting. But I was completely tongue-tied. I couldn’t bring myself to speak, for fear of the unknown. Fear of what he might do.
The guard in front cleared his throat. "She was—"
"I didn’t ask you to speak," Thorne cut his off abruptly, his gaze still pinned on my face. "I want to hear it from you, Josie."
I swallowed again, heat scattering across my skin.
He was pressing closer, his eyes and breath menacing and hot.
"It’s Alpha Jake!" I blurted, deafest crawling into my veins. "He intercepted me at the restroom."
Something flickered in his eyes, sinister and cold.
"What did the bastard say to you?"
"He..he.."
"Tell me!"
"He said he wanted a piece of my ass..?"
He glared at me for a moment. "Did he touch you?"
I averted my gaze, saying nothing in response.
Thorne growled in rage, pulling back from me. His eyes flashed angrily, his fists clenched. "That bastard is asking for a taste of my wrath, huh?" he spat. "I made it clear you were mine."
"Thorne I—"
"I’ll burn his fucking pack to the ground, so he learns to keep his hands off what’s mine."
My heart thudded against my chest, panic shooting straight up.
In a desperate attempt to calm him, I grabbed his wrist. "Thorne, please listen to—"
I was yanked up in a fluid movement and splayed atop him, and soon, I was straddling his waist.
"What were you saying?" he demanded, his husky voice a low hum that reverberated through my body.
In a sudden bold move, in a bid to distract him—or was it?—I reached up and cupped his chin, planting a light kiss on his lips.
He stiffened instantly, his lashes fluttering close. Then he snapped his eyes open when my lips only lingered for a moment, surprise and desire flashing in them.
Before I could pull back, he wrapped his arms around my waist and snagged me closer, smashing his lips down on mine.
We started another passionate dance in the backseat, breaths heavy and hot as our lips slopped over each other.
Thorne’s hands were everywhere on my body. My breasts, my neck, my hair, my face, my thighs. Teasing, straying between them.
They pulled up my dress, his rough hands grazing my thighs.
My hands grazed his chest, pushing his jacket down. Wanting to feel his skin.
I arched my back, yearning for more, although I had no idea what it was.
But I wanted it, whatever it was. Wanted him to touch me in the place that ached like cra—
The car suddenly pulled to a stop with a rough, sharp jolt, that threw Thorne and I off the seat.
He caught me just before my head rammed against the front seat, his palm shielding it.
Then, in a blink of an eye, a dozen figures started to emerge from the shadows around.
